Excellent facial! I walked out feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, and the signature facial is an excellent value compared to nearby offerings. The environment is a lovely clean new salon with modern technology (not some dingy 1950s relic of Park Ridge). Ramona uses only natural and organic products, and does a very thorough extraction that won't leave your skin red and damaged. She provides a long relaxing European massage that is worth experiencing (and included in each facial). I'm not writing this review to be mean. Obviously, Ramona runs a business that many people enjoy, however, for me personally, it was definitely one of the most awkward and uncomfortable situations. I was completely unaware that she ran the business out of her apartment. I was led to believe this was a Spa at a commercial location so when I showed up I was already uncomfortable. This was not something I would have been okay with if I had known. Again, I'm sure that works for some people but for me it was very, very uncomfortable. I went for eyebrow waxing and when I laid down I said I just needed them cleaned up. She proceeded to tell me that my brows did not follow the shape of my brow bone and I would need to grow them out. She drew in what they would look like. I told her, I realize that but I do not like my brows that way. I am not a fan of thick brows on myself. She then told me that I will learn to like it and proceeded to do my brows the way she saw fit and not how I wanted them. Last I checked, if it's on my body I should be able to decide how I want it to look? It was hands down the most traumatic eyebrow waxing experience I've ever had and I could not get out of there fast enough. In response to Ramona who clearly cannot handle a customer who was not happy with their service, first of all you wouldn't have a Danielle P because the P is the initial of my maiden name which is not what I booked under. And I'm not creating controversy. Your business practice sucks, your service sucked, you were rude as hell and I was very unhappy hence the reason I have not been back. So sorry you are hurt but you clearly are not perfect nor reputable if you try to discredit customers reviews. And why would I contact you when it's just as easy to never go back? Thanks! I've had really bad experiences when it comes to getting my eyebrows done due to my overly sensitive skin. I immediately break out in a rash after waxing or threading at multiple places. Therefore I have refrained from getting them done "professionally" and have been tweezing them myself for the past 5 years. However, they have lost their shape and I let them grow out in hopes that I would find somewhere to get them done, and reshaped. I found Ramona and she did fantastic! I am so happy I went to her. I found her on yelp and decided to take a chance and I'm so happy that I did. Not only did I not breakout in a rash because she used very soft and gentle wax, but she is great at shaping (really has an eye for it) and filled them in a little, and also gave me great advice on how i should upkeep them at home until my next appointment. My life changed when I gave Luvu spa a try! I had some really bad experiences with getting facials done and I've always sworn I will never go back again. I recently finished make-up school and I learned that great make up's foundation is great skin. I didn't have great skin. I didn't even have a home regimen. The night Ramona told me that she can help me, I told her I've had nightmares last time I got a facial - broke out very badly, and the experience itself was very very painful. She assured me that she can and will help me. I started my first treatment in December and I was impressed with the whole thing. Ramona kept her promise and I felt a huge difference in my skin. She was very gentle, and paid close attention to every detail, not to mention her spa room is very nicely put together, it's like being in a luxury hotel!
