They don't care about customer service. I expressed my frustrations with their communication - never got a phone call that they would be closed on the day I arranged to come in from out of town for my glasses. Marina didn't want to hear it. I thought I had found the perfect place for glasses and spent a lot of money here in the past. But they really do not take responsibility for a mix up. A simple apology would have been sufficient but instead I was made to feel like I had no reason to be upset and it was all my fault. I do not recommend and I won't return. read more

As I waited for my exam the assistant measured the diopter on my glasses and while he was handling them he over-tightened the screws without asking me and now they're busted. Then when i went in the exam room, I was a bit taken back by seemingly outdated technology and machines ive used even 20 years ago for exams. Everything seemed kinda dirty. Then came in the dazed optometrist who was unfriendly and impatient as well. After the exam i went to the disgusting (yeah disgusting) bathroom to try on my contacts and for the first time in my many exams I couldn't see well with the contact strength she prescribed me. This almost seemed to make her annoyed and she didn't know what to tell me, showcasing on that old rickety machine that those were the numbers it showed after the exam. Strangely somehow my prescription strength somehow switched eyes. This seemed odd and i couldn't stand the new prescription strength so we just went back to my original prescription. Additionally, they gave me the wrong prescription with the incorrect contact brand and I had to do phone tag/fax to fix the problem when trying to order my lenses online. all in all, i got a broken pair of glasses, a prescription i'm not sure is correct and a good waste of time. Would not recommend and honestly questionable how this place is legit operational. read more

This is the most wonderful neighborhood store. I have purchased glasses over the years with Marina. She's always happy to adjust them when I walk in. Her son who equally impressed me - on a separate visit, my frames had broken and I needed an emergency fix. He managed to find a pair of frames that fit my odd shaped lenses, so that I could use them that evening, when I needed to speak in front of a large crowd. He was focused and kind and really understood the bind I was in. I feel lucky to have them in our neighborhood. read more

This is the second time that I have gone to this optical store and my experience with Marina and her son Rafael has been as excellent as the first time I went there. They and the eye doctor are very professional, courteous and very straightforward. I go there because they participate in my vision insurance plan. My experience has always been that they never pressured me with upsell strategies in order to make more money. I can't recommend this place enough! The staff are efficient, honest, kind, and helpful, and they went out of their way to make my experience of getting a pair of eyeglasses in their shop as smooth as possible. I was able to choose a pair of glasses and get everything set up and ordered within 30 minutes of walking into the store, and getting my glasses only took around 3 weeks. Marina, was very helpful while i was in NYC. I recently moved to Miami and i was in dire need of my daughters prescription for her lenses as she lost them. it is sad to say that it has been an absolute nightmare to get the right prescriptions from Marina. She seems very bitter that we have decided to purchase else where and is trying to figure out every way possible to make this as difficult as possible. Abundance theory! you lose one customer you gain three back. It sucks that a 5 year old girl is struggling to see because you are bitter. read more

Marina is helpful, honest, and gets prescriptions right! I have a difficult prescription. In the hands of someone unskilled, I can end up with super thick lenses (which happened at another place, SEE, and were so heavy they hurt!). Marina helped me pick out a beautiful rimless frame and made sure that the lenses were as thin as possible. When they came, she made sure to show me verification that all the "extras" that I ordered, like Transitions lenses and anti-scratch coating, were indeed the brand-name products, and not some second-rate substitute brand. Her prices are good-- I went to one shop that quoted me several hundred more for rimless frames. Since picking up my glasses, I've been back twice to get them adjusted, and she does this happily. read more

There are many eyeglass stores in my immediate neighborhood but after meeting Marina and seeing her selection of frames, it was a no-brainer for me and my husband. As a long-time and loyal customer of the now closed Sam & Ana Optic in this space, I was skeptical when Luv My Look moved in. But I'm now a 100% convert. Not only does Marina have many wonderful frames that you won't see elsewhere, but her prices for them (and lenses) are far more reasonable, too. But the best is, no matter what you think you're looking for, she has an uncanny ability to look at your face and make a suggestion for frames that you never would have noticed or thought would look good on you, but when you put them on, they're completely flattering. read more

My eye doctor recommended Marina's shop to me and the whole experience couldn't have been better. Well, actually, it COULD have been better if my eye doctor hadn't goofed on my prescription! When the glasses came in and it was clear that I wasn't able to see properly, Marina was totally cooperative and invited me to have my eyes re-examined assuring me that she could replace the lenses without charge. Problem was that my doctor had become seriously ill so I needed somebody else to do the exam. It turns out that there is a first-rate optometrist available on Marina's staff, Dr. Bharj, who gave me a patient and thorough exam. When the glasses arrived, Marina noticed a slight flaw in one of the lenses and called me to let me know she would send them back so the lens could be replaced. The glasses came in very quickly and Dr. Bharj had done an excellent job -- the prescription is perfect! So you see, Marina runs a tight ship and is there to provide first-rate service to her customers. I highly recommend Luv My Look Optical. read more
