This place is wonderful!!! One of the salespeople experimented with my daughter and demonstrated the bath bombs with her pretending to be "witches" lol! My daughter is 4 and this was amazing! While one played with my daughter the other salesperson helped me pick out some amazing soaps! Can't stress enough the soaps are amazing, and the salespeople make the atmosphere! Highly recommend! Lush is located in the Hilldale Shopping Center. I entered the building and it smelled more luxurious than Bath and Body works. The shop design is unique and for some reason I'm so intrigued by the simplicity of the labels. It makes me want to smell everything. The names of the products are trendy too. There are an assortment of items including their famous bath bombs, lotions, scrubs, makeup, a men's line, massage bars, and shampoo bars. I'm positive you will find a scent you love! I picked a few individual items, placed them in paper bags, and one of the reps printed labels for me and placed them on the bags while I shopped. The reps are so helpful! One of the lady's showed me how amazing their bath bombs were in a pail of water. Let me tell you, after watching and smelling the bath bomb I ended up buying 3. There were samples to try on nearly every shelf, also water and napkins to wash off any scents or ingredients from the bombs. I purchased $75 worth of items and was given an abundance of samples that were personally picked for me. Overall such a great experience. I'm sold! read more

Their products are 100% vegetarian (80% are vegan), they don't test on animals, and use less packaging (and/or recycled and recyclable packaging). Located in the mixture of Hilldale mall stores, this store is the most reasonably priced of the mix and will give you a great amount of product for their price. It is more expensive than your average lotion, but it's QUALITY product. Lush carries a variety of products from their handmade soaps to shampoo, conditioner, sea hair spray, lip gloss, bath bombs, bath oils, lotions, toothpaste, and a heck of a lot more. Their products are NOT tested on animals and cruelty free. A personal fav is their "charity pot" lotion where 100% of the proceeds go directly to the cause! That's seriously incredible stuff. All products are 100% vegetarian, handmade, and have naked packaging to help eliminate waste. Why do I keep going back besides the fifty amazing things I listed above? The CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Their employees are so friendly and helpful. As soon as you step foot inside, you are immediately greeted and not pitched a sale but rather just talked to or even offered a demonstration. I met so many amazing employees that were hands on and showed me how to use certain products that I had no idea they even carried. Because of this I always take my out of town friends here to spoil them. I had heard about the "Lush Bath Bombs" many a time and disregarded what I was hearing. Then one fateful day around the holidays I walked into Lush. My eyes could not take in all of the colors and scents fast enough, my ears could not take in the sound of my wallet emptying fast enough. I love this STORE! Lush prides itself on natural ingredients. And I have naturally sensitive skin! I looked on mournfully at the various bath bombs and thought "this is going to be worth the risk of an eczema breakout!" To my delight, the bath bomb (a magical, ocean blue, glittery experience) was kind to my SKIN! Yes, it is a splurge to spend $8 a crack on a bath bomb, but these? Worth every dime. Nice products but always end up leaving the store before being able to buy anything because employees are extremely pushy and aggressive. They always force a lot of interaction starting from when you walk in -- today they insisted on going over safety protocols for 5 minutes; since the rules are simple, maybe just put them on a board for people to read? Some (maybe most) of us just want to look around on our *own*, especially in Covid...I hope they update their business model a bit, would love to look around and try a few products. read more

Wonderfully personable and helpful staff. As with all Lush stores. I would expect nothing less. It's a little smaller than the Lush stores I'm used to going but you can still find plenty that you want there. Especially the staples. Got my Mask of Magnaminty, Tea Tree Water, Goldrush bathbombs that I've been wanting to try, Double Vitality bath oil and two cloth kerchiefs so my head doesn't sweat (sorry cute polyester or man made material turtle one my daughter got me for Mother's Day.) when using them to keep my hair in check when I drive with the windows down!! I've been a fan of Lush for many years & have been buying from them online. I was very excited to hear that they were opening a store in Madison, & their store is awesome. I came here for BRAVA night out. I had heard of it before and thought it was a makeup store. Nope. It's not. It's more of a bath/body store.... But it's not just any bath/body store. They have so many awesome and innovative products! Some of the ones I really found interesting were the solid shampoo, shower jelly, and the toothy tabs. They are all so interesting and I was in awe with every product I looked at next. They seem to be environmentally friendly and try to limit the packaging they use for their products, which means I can feel good about my efforts to help the environment when I buy their products. Additionally, the forms in which they offer some of their products (i.e.: the toothy tabs and solid shampoo) make travel easier because you don't have to worry about satisfying TSA's 3 ounce rule since they are not liquids. What I truly loved the most, though, was that the staff was SO FRIENDLY. They honestly seem to really love their jobs there. When I had questions, everyone was eager to answer them and offered samples so I would know what I would enjoy most and be confident with my purchase. I will definitely recommend LUSH to others! There's no doubting that Lush has amazing products. Their bath bombs are relaxing and fun, while their face and body products are full of natural ingredients and organic yumminess. I cannot live without my Angels on Bare Skin cleanser/exfoliator. It's a staple in my skincare routine. I've dabbled in many other products, and while they all work, there's nothing else I feel complied to go repurchase religiously. Their bath bombs always lure me in but with pricing between $6-12, it's a special treat I only indulge in after a very stressful week. My only complaint is that there are always a lot of workers on the floor greeting you and asking questions upon your arrival, which is great for people who are new to the store or have questions! But when I come in knowing what I want and already know where everything is, it can get annoying - if I need anything, I'll ask! Walked in with my sister and two nieces one Friday evening to buy some bath bombs and was immediately confronted by an employee very forcefully "telling" us about their "safety protocols." Two women walked in behind me so I turned and stepped aside to give them and myself space, because you know - COVID - and the employee talking about sanitizing our hands before touching anything, not going to help prevent covid, started screaming at me about how rude I was for not listening to her! And then another employee joined in, opening talking about how rude I was in front of me and my family. I had my mask on, was trying to keep my distance from other customers in their very small shop. WTF?!?! They would not stop talking about me, would not apologize, and all around were acting like total fools. So I left. Bought nothing and never will again. Lush used to be my go to store for fun gifts for my nieces and girlfriends. Too many other places to shop to put up with that kind of treatment. I appreciate having strong safety protocols but treating anyone like this is unacceptable. Have a stand with your sanitizer and a polite sign asking people to use it before entering if they plan on handling the products. Trust your customers will, for the most part, comply. And that's it. No lecture, no abuse, no confrontations. Ever. Bottom line, employees at this store are assholes. read more

So it's true you can get Lush products online naked in front of your computer... Probably not a bad idea to check the individual product reviews before committing to some of the pricier products. That being said, this Lush location gets 5 stars because the employees are so nice and friendly they brighten my day every time I go in! There's never any pressure to buy (though I always end up spending.... more than I should... I'm quite the #productJunkie) but I have friends who go in just to check stuff out and grab some samples to try before they come back in for the full size product(s). No joke though, I come in here after a bad day at work, my day takes a complete 180 after coming in to chat with the friendly folks here, play in the makeup and maybe try a product or two or seventeen :). I had seen them on Instagram... googled and was ecstatic to see they were coming to Madison. I haven't always cared for the staff following around and suggesting too many things etc.... idk i just want to look around and smell and ask questions if I want to. Other than that such a great place! I don't try much of the other products as I only go for bubble bath products..... because they are awesome and worth the extra penny. I personally haven't done this but have seen some people cut their bath bomb in half to extend use to two different baths rather than one. A just used the rose bath bomb and it stained everything. My entire bathtub is stained, streaks on my skin won't come off, and it is stuck in my pores. I used bleach on the bathtub stains and it barely did anything. Horrible. Worried about my skin and upset over my bathtub. read more

The bath bomb cost ranges from about $7-12 which I find kind of expensive for a one use bath time item. I think that Lush is a generational thing, because my daughter and her friends go nuts for this place and their products. I myself find it completely overwhelming, from the overwhelmingly scented products, to the overwhelmingly helpful staff, to the overwhelmingly stuffed store, to their "shouty" bold black and white typography and signage. I generally find it overwhelming, full stop. On paper, it's awesome, and I do enjoy the scent of one of their products, by itself and far away from the store...but would never buy it myself because all of their products are also quite pricey. Lush is so awesome! It's become my go-to for face scrubs, lotion bars (!!!), and gifts. Some of the products are a little expensive, but I think the quality is absolutely worth it. Since Lush opened in Hildale mall I have been there twice. Both times the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. The prices are little high and so I won't be shopping there often. I haven't actually written a Yelp review before, but my experience here was above and beyond and I wanted to share it. The bath products are awesome, of course, but the employees here also truly care about making their customers happy. I came in last week, after just having received some terrible news. I just wanted to buy a couple bath bombs to help me relax. While one of the workers (Amanda) was showing me different products, I started crying in the middle of the store. I was super embarrassed but she hugged me, talked to me for a while about what was bothering me, and gave a sample of a face mask (which was very soothing on my skin, btw). Then when I got home, I saw that she had slipped another sample into my bag, with a note saying it was to brighten my day. So yeah, this place is great.
