The staff were incredible. Seriously, seriously incredible.! everyone was extremely friendly. It was almost like you entered a different world cause once everyone was so nice. And whenever you needed somebody to find something or to look for a different size, there was always somebody nearby who was happy to help you. I found some great deals on some very durable clothing in my case. It was cargo shorts and cargo pants. I just really think that the staff were incredible and I wanna go back. If you haven't been to Mount Horeb the City of trolls it's worth a visit and while you're there, stop at the welcome center to get a map of where the trolls are and you can also pick up a coupon for Duluth Trading. I did and I got a nice deal. One of my items was clearance priced and then I got 20% off the entire purchase, which was a sweet deal. I have purchased from Duluth Trading many times but i have to say the Mt Horeb store was huge, had an awesome selection and the STAFF WERE AWESOME! Great experience today. Received a special discount coupon via email a few days ago. 40% off any ONE item in the store. I usually order on line but the coupon intrigued me so I made the visit. Wifey picked out a few things, jacket and a couple of tops. When it came time to use the coupon there was a misunderstanding and we had to approach the store manager, Christina. Christina is a pro. Duluth Trading Company was founded in 1989, and it sells men's and women's clothing, footwear, accessories, and outdoor gear. For the past few years, I have been been buying some men's and women's clothing from this store. My husband loves the comfortability of their boxers, and I have found their women's waffle shirts to be a high quality that fits well and lasts a long time. For my most recent purchase, I ordered several items through the website. The items were not inexpensive, but the store did have a promotion that I could get one item for free. The next day, the store shipped my items. Nine days later, UPS delivered the package to my home. I knocked one star off my review because I can shop for only some and not all of our clothes here. I was out with friends having lunch in town and they wanted to do some shopping so I was dragged along to this store that has a huge out of place corporate headquarters looking building around the corner. Not knowing anything about this company and walking through the store I understood why that big shiny building is in a small town USA is there, it's a tough clothing store for hard working every day people that a pair of Levi's just will not do. The store is for men and women who do the tough jobs that keep the country going with everything from underwear to foot ware, skin care to beard care and just about everything needed for the person who needs better quality than average work clothing. The in store Wally Keller tool museum was unexpected and cool to look at even though I have no idea what all these tools actually do. The coffee lounge has comfy chairs with a wood stove and a small book store on the end. Even though I have no need for this store that specializes in the tough job needs of hard working people and I didn't buy anything but I really like how much thought was put into the needs of the people who need this level of quality. read more

wow what a great way to spend an afternoon. I've often shopped at my local DTC in Waukesha, WI, but this expansive retail store . . . just a stone throw away from the Corporate HQ was a step above. Not only was the store laid out in a very cool way, with an abundance of choices, but also had a little history to it with displays, etc. I think what struck me most was the service. Unparalleled ... in any retail establishment. Not only on product knowledge, but also on assisting and guiding customers through the selection process. wow. read more

I am a senior citizen male and it seems I no longer find clothes which are both a good fit and are quality made. Actually, Duluth Trading Co. was somewhat of a last resort. The selections of various clothing items were outstanding. Actually, I found myself holding back a bit, but wishing I had more needs---kind of like a good buffet. I found 2 pairs of blue jeans that actually fit. THEY ACTUALLY FIT!!! The fit was the best I have had in years. Nice large store with a nice selection of clothes, outdoor gear and shoes. Reading the other reviews the staff must have lifted up their game. They were all friendly, asked if I needed help but didn't hound me. As I entered and left twice they greeted me and said have a good day. The mens and womens sections had a good assortment of clothes. They have some unique pet outdoor stuff! camping stuff also. There were some weird and wonderful books of all types. They were a fun read. Ill be sure to stop by again for some more outdoor clothing on my next trip to this nice little town. read more

Not just a catalog anymore! Storefront in historic building in cute downtown Mount Horeb in the site of the former Mustard Museum. You'd wouldn't recognize the place though, a full renovation, this place is beaming from the clean up. While they have fabulous and sturdy clothing choices for men and a variety of manly hobbies, they also carry women's clothing, shoes, boots and a whole fun gift area. Toys for kids, toys for adults with a old school twist, books on wood working, thingy ma doozits, tools, leather wallets, purses, bags, and more. Don't forget to check out Wally's Tool museum with hundreds of old tools to check out and wonder what the heck they are all for. While over all this is on the pricier side of things, their clothing lasts forever, where else would you get firehose pants? read more

I am embarrassed to say how much my husband and I have spent throughout the years here. Tanks and tees will run at about $12.50-$25.00 or so, but I have a weakness for their skorts as they are so flattering and comfortable. All their clothes are very durable, so when you do splurge $45.00 on a long sleeved shirt you are getting wicking control and seamwork that lets you actually move comfortably. Bonus for you ladies who bust out of the seams of your shirt-there's no gaping when you get the right size. The store itself is set up nicely. You can either enter the women's or men's side and though it's technically gender labeled most of the styles are similar and casual style. There's also shoes, socks, bags, boots, head wraps, Buck Naked underwear (so you feel like you're wearing nothing at all) and No Crack cream to help remoisturize the winter weathered dry skin. There are a few staff members that wander to assist you with sizing or descriptions. Clothing runs a bit generous, so definitely make use of the fitting rooms before you buy. read more

I have been a customer of Duluth Trading Company for years, but always through their catalogs. I didn't even know they had a brick and mortar store till we planned a short getaway trip to the Mt. Horeb Wisconsin area. Lo and behold, there was the DTC flagship store standing right where the Mustard Museum had been. (Another story for another day). DTC is my kind of store. In a sea of boutickytacky shops, it stands out with it's work pants made from fire-hose fabrics and tee shirts designed to solve the age old problem of "Plumber's Butt". Do you like cool tools and gadgets? This is the store for you. They have a nice seating area, and actually encourage you to take a break from shopping for a sit down with a cup of coffee or tea (free of course). The entire store is inviting and a nice added feature is the old tool museum. It is very interesting and includes a quiz where you try and guess the use of assorted old instruments. (The only one I managed to answer correctly was the bull castrater, LOL) DTC is a bit pricey, but the quality of the merchandise is high, the entertainment factor is spot on and the service is polite and friendly. If you are in the Madison Wi. area, this is a store well worth visiting. I'm still wondering why the store is in Mt. Horeb Wi. and not Duluth Mn. A mystery to ponder on a snowy afternoon. read more

Serious workman's clothing. Your well-dressed electrician or plumber will be wearing this gear. Or if you spend some time outdoors in the not-always-pleasant weather as I do they've got stuff for you. I bought a pair of shoes in the store. Plenty of time to wear them around while I visited the tool museum and other items of interest in the store. But when I got them home these shoes morphed into foot hobbling weapons. I'll take full responsibility for this problem. But now having worn these shoes for a half day on errands I was at the company's mercy for a refund. No problem. Following clear online instructions I shipped the shoes back (at my cost) and received a full refund. And THEY even apologized to me. I thought this was a gracious response. I'm sorry the sale ended in a refund. But I think this reinforces the idea that you can buy from this store and they will stand behind their merchandise. Pretty awesome store. Products are not for everyone, tend to be geared towards laborers, field workers, and the outdoorsy. I visited Duluth Trading Company a couple of weeks ago while traveling. In fact, I actually went out of the way to visit this place. After seeing all of the television commercials and advertisements in the mags, I thought I have got to go. The main reason I wanted to check it out was I was under the impression that this place was made here in the good old USA. Well, I was WAY WRONG. Lately, I have been into the "support the made in USA" thing. Without a doubt, a great cause, you know, if you can buy something American made, buy that instead of the Chinese crap. The main point I would like to point out here is Duluth TC gives the impression that their products are true red white and blue, but in fact most of their clothing is imported. Pants, shirts, undies, etc. For what it is (pants, shirts, etc) it is very expensive for what you get. I think Duluth TC is really interested in being more of a "trendy" thing, like Eddie Bauer stuff. You know, Chinese polo shirts for $70.00. Kind of crazy. I was very disappointed to say the least. I think Duluth TC should stop attempting to carry the impression they are a seller of American stuff from the old days when everything was made here. It is misleading. read more

I shop online because I don't like to go to malls only to find out store after store is out of my size or out of a color on everything I might want to buy. SO it's annoying when I order something and get a return email that says it's back ordered for two months. Nice trendy store for now, but if you don't have it, don't try to sell it. Having worn their clothes for years, this was my first visit to their store. The store has a very nice layout and even a sitting area and fresh coffee being served. There was a wide variety of work clothes and outdoor clothes, as well as a section on tools and gadgets. One neat feature was a small museum of historical tools within the store. They are a tad pricey though. read more

If you're coming from Madison, you've already invested about 40 minutes+ travel time. I knew what I was looking for: I checked shirts, pants, belts, socks, shoes, and yoga pants. I needed to try on three items to confirm size and then I could settle on what I would buy. Quick shopping, So I thought. No one greeted me when I came in around 11:30 am, although there were two staffers and maybe six customers. I overheard the staff mention how to tell if things were on sale to a couple shopping. No one told me. No one spoke to me as I was looking through the various areas. When I had my items in my arms and went back to the fitting rooms ( only two), there was staff at the counter and a customer trying on shoes next to the fitting room. The staff chatted with the shoe customer, but didn't ask if I wanted a room. I ended up checking myself, but both rooms were busy. So I stood and waited. Still no one spoke to me. (I was nicely dressed and just from the dentist so my pearlies were white). I tried on a couple of shoes and a salesperson came over and checked again with the other shoe customer, but ignored me. After waiting about 7 minutes for a changing room, I left all the stuff on a counter and left. They lost a $200 sale in those 20 minutes. Given the drive, if I want anything I'm sticking to the catalogue. I never felt so invisible. The sales women were my age too, I didn't expect that disrespect. read more

When I first purchased DTC's five pocket fire hose jeans, perhaps 8 years ago, they were more reasonably priced than they currently are, especially since they are made in China. And they used to fit well. A waist 32 meant exactly that. I have had no problems whatever with returning items that are defective. It is a quick and easy process--and needs to be. I suspect that the Chinese factory is trying to squeeze out additional profit and does so by skimping on the amount of cloth per unit. And the dye lots vary considerably. Finally, I don't believe that the fire hose material outlasts denim. I have purchased USA-made 14.5 oz. denim jeans, complete with gusseted crotch, for $12 less than the fire hose jeans and $32 less(!) than Duluth's USA-made denim jeans. And my USA-made jeans fit very well and comfortably and last every bit as long, if not longer, than the fire hose jeans. And I also have noted that fire hose jackets and coats tend to have sleeves that are disproportionately long. I have had to have four of them altered. The footwear (especially the bison hide) has great uppers, but the soles are cheap and short-lived. The only reason for two stars is because DTC's shirts are quite nice, even though they also are made in China. But I can find shirts just like them for $5-8 at thrift stores in "better" neighborhoods. read more
