The quality of the services here are too hit or miss. I've gotten the best lash lifts here but also some of the worst. The girl I went to today, left a TON of glue in my lashes after the lift and my eye lashes don't look all that lifted. I don't know how this was an acceptable service. Check the pics, my lashes have never looked worse. In the past I've gone to Anita, and she's VERY good! I wish I went to her today but she was all booked (for good reason). So I've been getting lash extensions (on and off) at different places. I've been going to a place in my own town because their lashes stay on for a long while, even after almost 2 weeks. I know how to take care of lash extensions. I wash them daily with foam cleanser I would buy from my lash extensions place, use lash coating & I always bring a small brush wand with me every where I go to brush them all the time. Because of the covid and with places reopening, I couldn't get a hold of my usual lash place so I decided to book an appt at Lure Lash in Somerville since they had open availability sooner. I was excited. I checked out their ig and read some good reviews. I was ready to go. My appt was for 3:35pm and I finished around 6pm... I was really surprised, but I didn't complain because I didn't have anything to do later that day. But what DID surprise me was that I had 2-3 lashes that fell out that same day... then it would be 3-5 lashes the next day.. and then the next. It would happen every day. My appt was a week ago and now that it's almost going to be a full 2 weeks since I've gotten them done, you can tell that if you see them, my right eye is a lot fuller than my left. I've never had this experience.. I was disappointed. I've been to 3 different lash places, with different technicians, and I never would've had a problem this bad before :( I was disappointed, I'm sorry. I usually don't give long negative reviews like this but I was looking forward to getting my lashes done after not having them during the whole quarantine. I came to this salon looking for a closer lash extenion place to get my lashes done. Very nice atmosphere and the person who attended me, Silk, was very nice which got this review at least one star. But the techniques that were used were horrible. First, I had a removal and a captivating lash set. The removal cream they put on me completely burned my eyes and felt horrible. My eyes are not sensitive, but whatever serum they used hurt my eyes so much. I needed to rinse my eyes, and when I asked for a tissue, she could only give me a hard napkin which hurt my eyes more. To prepare putting on my lashes, she put vaseline on my under eyes and then this face tape. I've never had TAPE on my undereyes. Then when putting on my eyelashes, things were okay until my eyes started stinging again in the middle of the session. I told the lash technician, but she could only blow the lashes so they stung less. When we were done, she ripped off the tape from my under eyes and IT HURT SO MUCH. It felt like she was ripping my skin off. And there was SO MUCH sticky residue left all over my ryes that I took forever to take it off when I got home. When I got home, I looked at my lashes and was very dissapointed. I paid over $160 for D curl, 12-13mm lashes and they looked so cheap. On closer inspection, I saw that an eyelash was GLUED TO MY BOTTOM LASH LINE (see posted picture). It was horrible, and I was so dissappointed. I would not recommend this salon to anyone, unless you want your eyes to be burned and lashes weirdly put on your eyes. read more

I have been going to Lure Lash for over 2 years and I cannot recommend them enough! The staff is the best! It all started when I walked in a little unsure whether or not I wanted to get my lashes done, never gotten it before I was hesitant, Nikki in the front desk assured me I would love it and that I will be in great hands and she was right! I've been going every 3 weeks since then, they are a group of amazing women. I cannot thank Anita enough and also Trinh for making sure my lashes are amazing in my every visit!! Love you ladies! The place is always clean, they take extra precaution on cleanliness but honestly it's always been such a spotless place. I've never had irritations or issues with my lashes, just follow their instructions on how to clean them properly and you'll be coming back like me! To Nikki, who schedules all of my appointments and for still putting up with me even though I forgot my appointment on my wedding week and she called and called to make sure I got them done. I have never had an owner reach out to me and offer to fix something, and I can tell that she cares about her customers' satisfaction. Thank you Carmela! I got the under eye gel pads for an additional $4 (well worth it), parked in the lot by Shoprite to avoid paying for street parking, and had a much more experienced lash tech. I didn't feel any poking or pain during the application of my lashes this time, and I took one of the best naps I've had in a long time. I woke up with amazing eyelashes! I will definitely be coming back. I recommend others to just bite the bullet and book with a more experienced lash tech instead of a junior lash tech for a more enjoyable experience. read more

I've officially been going to Raven to get 2D Captivating Allure lashes every two weeks for a little over TWO YEARS now, and I love every visit! Nikki at the front desk is just honestly the best. She's always been helpful when my hectic work schedule forces me to reschedule over the phone and I've had endless great conversations with her before and after my appointments. She's very customer focused and just an all around wonderful human being. As I mentioned before, Raven has been doing my lashes since Jan 2018, and I would be lost if she ever left Lure Lash. She's always been quick and gentle when it comes to application, which is huge since I've sat at other places for what seems like forever by someone yanking my lashes (~SOBS~). Raven is great at accommodating what you want while you're there. If you're exhausted and need to relax in the quiet, she'll let you. If you want to talk about the latest movie or Netflix show, this girl's got you. And any ladies and gents out there who are huge Harry Potter fans, I've had ENDLESS, amazing Harry Potter fan-theory talks with Raven. This was the second time I've gotten eyelash extensions. I give it a five star for they fulfilled my objectives. To get them and for them to stay on. They thinned over time, but in tally there were so many lashes. Eight weeks later they were still on . The place, help,& all was outstanding. I preferred my first time experience with the application of the lashes much better than my experience here. And the 1st time I know it was medical grade glue and it didn't irritate my eyes where it isn't like it was unbearable, a bit irritating. And I wasn't fond nor experienced being tapped up under/around?, the eye either. Again, that wasn't what was used the 1st time. These are my feelings. I'm not trashing Lure Lash. I got my lashes done for prom here and I got the "captivating " look D curl and 15 length . My lashes were not terrible but the quality was. The lashes were very light and thin and were placed very wonky . I had to get lash extensions again and I decided to go to a "more professional place . Boy did I realize how bad my lashes were done at lure lash . Instead of slapping whatever lashes on me for a $150 value my new tech took time to customize a set to my eye shape included the 2D view and they lasted forever and still get compliments. I feel this place really took advantage of my lack of knowledge when it came to lashes at the time and I'm very disappointed that a LASH establishment doesn't know what they are doing . Did my lashes over a week ago and they looked great but the stylist only made them long as ever on the ends and didn't put a lot of lashes on. I paid a lot of money for the sultry which should be full lashes. Second I told her I wanted sensitive lash glue if they have and she said they do. My eyes are itchy as ever and I wake up with my eyes glued shut and blurry. They're so unprofessional because they don't offer any products to clean the lashes. Thankfully this wasn't my first time so I had a cleaner from the other salon I used to go to and will go back there because here you get what you pay for. I brought a friend with me she did first time and she never got the mascara brush to brush her lashes or anything not told how to clean them. Also my right eye the outer corner lashes were hurting like someone was poking me with a needle so I had to pull out two lashes to help with my pain. Normally one would go back to fix this issue but no sorry I'm not taking another risk for more problems or to possibly be charged for this. I have been with this brand for a year now. I've been to the Somerville and Madison location but stuck with somerville because of the technician. She took care of me and knew what I was looking for in my lashes. I went back today and I am very disappointed with the results. I have always gotten the 2D Natural because of simplicity and full look the lashes gave. But when I got them redone today it looked nothing like I had received before. I am disappointed in the lack of training some of the technicians did not receive especially in 2D. As for the service, they take the time to ask you what you want and fit it according to your eye shape. It's a calming environment with great music playing. Let me say that Raven made sooooo freaking happy with the end results...she listened to my complaints about my last installation and then she thoroughly educated me which was never done at initial installation or my refill at the Montclair location. Yo give you an idea of what happened I got a 1wk refill on Monday and the next day I had an unusual amount of lashes on my pillow and on my sink counter... the next day the same thing.. I went today (Friday) for an upgrade and they told me that it would be a "fix" being that I just got them done..let's just say my "fix" ended up being longer than expected because I never really received a full set of lashes.... but Raven thank you for everything I loveee my new lashes and will be booking you regularly. read more

I bought a Groupon for this establishment. It was for full lashes with a two week fill in. Well, unfortunately, it expired & my daughter called them up and told them I was having medical problems, which was the case, and they extended it. I didn't realize it & it expired again & while I understand completely that they didn't have to honor anything for me, I called & asked if there was anything I could do, they told me to go to Metuchen, they would honor it. Well, needless to say, Metuchen doesn't even promote Groupons. OK. First, they were charging me an additional $70.00 for the full set and they wouldn't honor the two week fill. I said, I can understand their not honoring the fill-in, but it was like the 2nd, it expired on the 30th. I asked if there were any way they could honor the face value for the full set & then I would pay for the fill-in; ABSOLUTELY NOT! There was no room for discussion. Now mind you, the manager or whomever is in charge wouldn't get on the phone, she just had the poor young lady in the front answering & playing telephone. It was quite unprofessional, she wasn't open to any compromise at all. If she would have come to 1/2 of the additional, Hell! if she had come to have a conversation with me, I would have appreciated that. She would have shown a level of maturity, but that did not happen either. I scheduled the appointment for when she would be there & asked that I could speak with her then, here's a good time & oops, she's not here, she had to run out. What an unprofessional business. With management like that, she sets an unprofessional environment for her employees. I did let the girl that did my lashes know that she did a lovely job, I think I tipped her well. I also told the young lady at the front that I would not be back. I, alone, might not be important, but a negative review here as well as a broad based word of mouth passing along a NEGATIVE REVIEW ABOUT LURE LASH IN SOMERVILLE, well, that just says a little more than that 5 minute chat you wouldn't have with me. That is how I choose to approach a lack of respect. So, I don't think this place is worth a Groupon rate, a coupon and Groupon rate combined, basically, I really wouldn't waste my time. I've been a client at Lure Lash in Metuchen for about a year and always been extremely happy with the service. My lashes always looked great and lasted a full 2-3 weeks with only minor touch-up needed during my fill. After my lash tech left unexpectedly I switched to Somerville location and I kept getting the same quality service if not better. Not only the owner personally took care of transitioning me and setting me up with the new technician she personally did my lashes a few times and I can't describe how professional and kind she was to me. The lash technicians and the owners truly care about the quality of service and go above and beyond to assure their clients leave happy. There was a point when my lashes were growing weak and thin so my technicians, first Anna and then Trin, took extra care to make sure I still get the full lash line look that I was used to. I highly recommend this place, especially Trin. She's sweet, very professional and simply amazing at her job! I never felt any burning or discomfort during any of my fill sessions cuz she always takes extra care to make sure I'm comfortable the whole time while she does my lashes. I got my first and probably my last set of lash extensions in this new location at Somerville thanks to the fact that THEY GLUED THE EXTENSIONS TO MY LIDS and a terrible costumer service! I got the set captivating then a refill two weeks later (no issues or reactions) and then upgraded to sultry and that's when it all went wrong. My upgrade was on a Friday and by Saturday night I knew something was wrong but I thought I was just tired from work so I went to bed to wake up on Sunday looking like a monster! I could barely open my eyes and it was such a stressful scary situation. My lids were horrible swollen and the hurt so bad. I had to run to another lash place and pay $45 to get them removed ASAP because they are close Sunday and Monday and it turned out that the technician glued most of the extensions TO MY LIDS which is a no no with lash extensions. I left several messages for them letting them know about what happened. One of the owners called me "concern" about it but still telling me that I most be allergic to the glue. I had to go to a doctor and I'm not allergic to anything and certainly not to the glue. They just didn't perform the service correctly gluing the lashes to my lids hurting my eyelids in a different level. It took my eyelids about a week to heal and they didn't even issue a refund. I understand that there's risk of allergies when you do these type of services but when they are not perform correctly it's another story. If your technicians don't know what are they doing that's your fault not the costumer. read more

I never write reviews. Well because I find it so silly to do them. Like who actually reads these? Anyway I felt like this location deserved my time to write this. I've been going here for a couple of months. My first set was disappointing. Tia at the Metuchen location (sweetheart by the way) tried to fix em up the best she could the same day. The next day Anna called and asked regarding my experience. I told her the first set I received...to say the least was not what I expected. She advised me to come in the next day for her to fix them with no charge. Let me tell you Anna knows what she is doing! When it comes to her craft and managing this business, she knows how to keep her customers happy. And it seems like she knows how to keep the staff happy. Every time I come in everyone there is absolutely friendly and they all greet you! Since then I have been going to TRINH (because Anna is very, very busy with all Lure Lash locations) and I cannot stop raving about her! She is worth the wait if she is ever backed up and she is worth every penny. 2 weeks will go by and I still get compliments on my lashes. That is all thanks to her!!!
