I find this extremely unprofessional and disappointing. If they knew they were unable to honor the reservation, I feel they should have notified me at least a week in advance rather than waiting until only two days before the appointment. At that point, finding another couples massage appointment elsewhere was extremely difficult, especially for such an important occasion. Unfortunately, this completely ruined plans I had made for our one-year anniversary. I understand that unexpected circumstances can happen, but the lack of communication and the extremely late notice were unacceptable. I would not recommend booking here for a special occasion, as there is no guarantee that your reservation will actually be honored. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Lauren, the receptionist, is the absolute sweetest--we always have great conversations while I wait. When I first started coming to EWC, I had a waxer who made my first experience so comfortable. She was kind and patient, which really helped since I didn't know what to expect. When she moved on to open her own salon, I began seeing Ashley, and she's been absolutely wonderful. Ashley is incredibly professional and detail-oriented. I usually get my eyebrows, upper lip, sideburns, and chin waxed, and she always preps my skin thoroughly before starting. Afterward, she makes sure to remove any leftover wax residue and finishes by filling in my brows using one of their products--they always look amazing when she's done. I have been to this wax center a…read morehandful of times for leg waxing and once for Brazilian and had really good experiences with Gena and Jordan. However, my last visit I had booked a Brazilian but couldn't get the waxers I usually schedule with. The waxer that did my Brazilian this last time completely messed up my service. First, she rushed through my legs and left sparse hairs which I didn't make a fuss about. Then when she began my Brazilian she applied an insane amount of wax to my private area and made a massive strip (covering almost the full right side) all the way from the bottom, up the lip and to the top of the mons. I had never seen an application this way especially because my hairs grow in different directions. When she started to pull, the wax was still hot and didn't pull up all the way (became stringy) and was extremely painful. She attempted to remove the wax and ripped at my sensitive skin and it definitely felt like she was not pulling in the correct direction. She attempted the other side but I had to ask to stop because she was causing intense pain and it wasn't getting the hairs up. She then claimed I couldn't be waxed because my hair was not long enough, however I had gotten it waxed previously at that length with no issues or pain! She left pieces of wax that I had to pull out myself when I got home. I ended up with a ton on ingrowns as well after the experience. They removed the Brazilian from my bill, but months later I now have random patches of hair that no longer grow at all. I also acknowledge they tried to call to discuss my experience but I moved away and I won't be returning regardless. Honestly just disappointed after having so many good experiences there and still having to be reminded of the experience to this day

There's so much hair left behind that I now have to do my own eyebrows again after wasting $9 ($7 for eyebrow and $2 for a tip I now regret) along with my time. It's ridiculous. They used to always give you a mirror to ensure you liked your eyebrows before paying. I'm very unhappy and will be looking for a new place. Your customers shouldn't have to redo your work the moment they get home.

I absolutely love the type of wax she uses because it doesn't leave you with the sticky feeling after the process is complete and it doesn't hurt as bad when it pulls out your hair from the root. I really do love the Asian massage places and actually prefer them over the large chains that mention membership while rubbing your back. Honestly not much English is spoken, but that's fine because there does exist a mutual understanding. But in this case, it seemed like there was a mutual mis-understanding. The price list said that $60 was for 60 minutes, $90 was 90, etc. I chose 90 minutes and asked if I could use my debit card. They said yes, but it would be an additional $7 charge. I figured fine, I was in pain. It was an ok massage, definitely nothing special, but when I tried to communicate with her she really, really didn't understand what I was saying. So I gave her what I thought she deserved as a tip (I'm usually a great tipper, but also fair), and she shook her head and told me that for a $97.00 massage, she wanted twice as much. I think she understood the expression on my face when I walked out.

I know how to take care of lash extensions. I wash them daily with foam cleanser I would buy from my lash extensions place, use lash coating & I always bring a small brush wand with me every where I go to brush them all the time. Because of the covid and with places reopening, I couldn't get a hold of my usual lash place so I decided to book an appt at Lure Lash in Somerville since they had open availability sooner. I was excited. I checked out their ig and read some good reviews. I was ready to go. My appt was for 3:35pm and I finished around 6pm... I was really surprised, but I didn't complain because I didn't have anything to do later that day. But what DID surprise me was that I had 2-3 lashes that fell out that same day... then it would be 3-5 lashes the next day.. and then the next. It would happen every day. My appt was a week ago and now that it's almost going to be a full 2 weeks since I've gotten them done, you can tell that if you see them, my right eye is a lot fuller than my left. I've never had this experience.. I was disappointed. I've been to 3 different lash places, with different technicians, and I never would've had a problem this bad before :( I was disappointed, I'm sorry.
