I have never heard of this place and glad we stumbled upon it last week. The bean and cheese burritos are delicious. Refried beans and added sour cream to it. Breaded fish tacos were incredible. I'd prefer one corn tortilla, but I get that it can get soggy with the sauce. I love them and been craving them since last week. One of my favorite things about Lupe's is their red sauce. Mexican food to me is nothing without the sauce. Not overly spicy, just right. The guacamole was pretty incredible too. I doubt I'll explore the menu further because I typically order the same stuff. Once I've found what I like, that's it for me. Another great thing about this spot is how quick the orders get made-10 mins is pretty quick! This is actually one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food. They have a great happy hour and drinks are great! The server Carlos is always super nice and talkative! I do wish that they would make my margarita blended but on the rocks is okay as well. I usually always get the super nachos with my boyfriend or I get a combo plate with a hard she'll taco and enchilada with rice and beans. The food is always super hot and fresh. They have free chips and salsa for you to eat when you get there. Obviously not now because of Covid in all, but a great place to come and enjoy a night out with some friends and drinks. read more

I discovered Lupe's because they offered an incredible deal through MySonomaDeals.com (sign up if you live in Sonoma County). This is my second visit here. Both times the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Both visits my server came by to see if everything was satisfactory; sadly a rarity in the restaurant business and one of my pet peeves. House Margarita on the Rocks with salt also arrived with a partial rim of chili rub. Nice touch. Chili Relleños were excellent and had a delicious buttery taste. Conveniently located on The Green. Outdoor patio available too Happy Hour 3-6 M-F. I will buy more $25 gift certificates. read more

DON'T GO HERE! The food has improved over the last few years, but is still average with the prices continuing to go up. I ordered a super burrito for take out. It was over $17 with tax. I tapped my credit card to pay, and although I did not select to add a tip, the cost bumped up to $20.83! I told the lady that I didn't mean to add a tip and she insisted that I did it. Their system is obviously too easy to accidentally do that, as I'm sure this must happen to others as well. I told her there was no way I was paying almost $21 for a burrito. She didn't know how to credit my account and needed another lady to help her. They couldn't figure it out, so they gave me $3 and some change back in cash. They were laughing about it at the same time, trying to embarrass me. I politely asked for another salsa because there was only one tiny cup included and was told they charge for it. It's funny how chips and salsa are always unlimited for free when you eat there, but I ask for one extra small one to go and am refused?? I've NEVER been charged there or any other place before. This was obviously retaliation for wanting my accidental tip back, which was due entirely to their shady payment system in the first place. There are too many good Mexican restaurants in Windsor to put up with this greed and terrible customer service. I suggest Martin's Taqueria, Diana's Restaurant, or Taqueria California. They all have better food and treat their customers with respect. read more

I have been here for both lunch and dinner and both visits were subpar. The salsa is flavorless, the service at our table lackluster. The chips cold. My second visit was specifically for the agave room happy hour. Our waiter didn't tell us the specials, didn't listen when we ordered, and would literally walk away when I was planning to order another drink. They were also out of the tequila requested and the one that was suggested as "better" was less smooth and not at all like what had been ordered. Our bartender Lissandra was fantastic but everything else was not impressive. All in all, there is much better Mexican food down the street (El Farolito is my suggestion). Easily the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to, I've been to a lot. Maybe it had to do with me not realizing how much things cost when I place my order, for 1 al pastor quesadilla with nothing else, too soft tacos and 2 Jarritos $30. Geez, Weimar quesadillas more than $10 this one was $13. The two drinks that cost $0.50 in a store cost $3.50. I mean I know they have to make up for a rough times but you're not not going to get repeat customers. Call my order in they said 15 minutes I come in about 25 minutes later and the server was talking to the guy paying for like 10 minutes I just standing there waiting patiently to pick up my food that I had to race back for lunch. I used to love their Tortas but that was before covid they're probably $20 for those now. Anyhow I've never written a review this is the first because I was very dissatisfied. If it was me and I was in Windsor I check out the old El Farolito Gallo negro now. And Healdsburg by far the best restaurant El Sombrero, steak quesadilla $8 way bigger way better. I've read a lot of great reviews so we must've gone on a bad night and the other times my family and I have gone were good so we were really looking forward to this dinner. We ordered the enchiladas plate, fish tacos, and chicken nuggets with fries. The fish was so dry and burnt on some pieces and the chicken nuggets were rock hard (I hope they weren't the recently recalled chicken nuggets) and the fries were a joke. They raised the kids plates from $8 to $10 and they couldn't even redo the kids paper menus (they crossed it off). I ordered my drink and when we got our food I still hadn't received my drink. They weren't busy and it was a simple soda (not even an alcoholic drink). Very disappointed with their service and food. Definitely not worth one penny of what we spent. read more

I honestly don't understand the harsh reviews. People think that Mexican food should automatically be cheap - forgetting that this area has a high standard of living. I think the prices are fair. If I want cheap, I'll make it myself at home. My spouse and I have been here for lunch a few times and our meals have always been great. Chile rellenos, carnitas, chile verde, mole, and birria (beef) have all be good. Portions are filling and the service is always nice. We'll continue to go back! read more

This review is for the bar. We popped in here because we had a 20-30 minute wait on a table at KIN Restaurant just down the way. One of our friends took their four year old to the park to play, and the rest of us opted for cocktails to tide us over. We were greeted quickly and bellied up to the bar. My honey, our friend, and I all opted for margaritas. Our friend and I both got one with cucumber and grapefruit that was fresh and light and delicious. It went down smoothly. My honey says that his standard margarita was quite good as well. Service was friendly during our short stay, and if we hadn't gotten the call for our table at KIN, we would have just stayed here for dinner. Looking forward to a future visit! read more

I'm not sure what the deal is with the sub-ratings and complaints but my family and I thoroughly enjoyed Lupe's. Now, while the food was wonderful, our waitress seemed almost offended by our presence. Thankfully another one assisted here and there and she was much nicer. I ordered the Deluxe Burrito with steak and it was fantastic. My wife loved it as well. This thing was huge and packed with beef. I had to force myself to finish the massive roll of goodness. The Spanish rice was in a cool square pyramid - Aztec? - and a small bowl of refried beans. The taste was average. My youngest daughter had a chicken enchilada with the diablo red sauce. It was the "hottest" on the menu and while it wasn't that hot, it did have true spice. My eldest daughter enjoyed the steak fajita salad and she loved it. My wife had the humongous Super Quesadilla and man it was great! I wished I had that, too! My son had the Super Burrito which was a notch under mine. It was if the same caliber of quality and taste as I enjoyed. Outside of our waitress not being the happiest or quickest to serve our needs, I really enjoyed Lupe's. I would gladly come back and grab a bite to eat here again. Maybe our waitress will be happy to see us this time. read more

Come here a couple of time for a lunch... my co-worker all spoke highly of this place. The first time I came I got sopes con al pastor, which were find, standard fare, and the second go round I got a combo plate with a chile relleno and a pork tamale. The tamale was pretty good, but the chile relleno was just eh. I know some folks like their chile relleno with salsa, but its not really my cup of tea. it was just bland... then again I haven't found a chile relleno that I really like anywhere. My family and I ate at Lupe's a couple of weeks ago for the first time. We had such a weird customer service experience that it would normally have caused me not to return. Except, for three things: 1. The server and manager tried so earnestly to resolve the issues, I couldn't even be upset with them. 2. The margaritas were so good, I'd be punishing myself by not going back. 3. The meal I ordered, Birria Enchiladas, but did not receive, looked so intiguing I had to come back again so I could actually try them. Also, the meal I did not order, but did receive, Chile Verde Enchiladas was absolutely delicious. So we gave it another try. * The margaritas (plain, on the rocks, with sweet citrus salt) are now my favorite margarita in Sonoma county. * I ordered, and actually got, the Birria Enchiladas and they were fantastic - like nothing I've had anywhere else. * The server was fast, sweet and attentive. This is a review in the time of the Shelter in Place. The quality of the food has really taken a dive. I would recommend holding off ordering from them until things go back to normal. Portions were much smaller than usual and they messed up on the order. We've had other problems with incorrect orders in the past and they've honored the correction but have to go back to the restaurant for the replacement. Sadly, I couldn't recommend them as a to-go option right now. read more

The worst chicken fajita I ever had , beef supposed to have some fat but for white chicken to have more fat than the white chicken is crazy, it seems the used the piece when you clean the Brest and they used it for other stuff, just a shame, even my cat didn't eat that chicken.
