I did try to have a conversation with the front desk, but the explanation didn't match the service I received. For the prices they already charge, these surprise add-ons are disappointing. The powder dissolves in water and as you stir your feet around it turns into this thick, warm gel that is really satisfying. I was so disappointed when it was time to drain. The massages are generous, the chairs are comfortable, they offer complementary beverages (including alcohol, if that's your thing), and the staff are very sweet.
