Horrible experience first took them 2 weeks to even reach out. They do not except animals they haven't in a long time. The lady I spoke to was very rude not helpful tried to threaten me very thankful for I had her on recording to report her. Who the hell did she think she was I don't know. They offered no help no number nothing. I would never take an Animal to this place. Their customer service is TRASH. I will be turning them in also to the Better Business Bureau. All they do is adoption out and daycare. False advertisement at its finest. read more

awesome customer service ! spoke to faith on the phone a while back and they were so helpful and kind. they let me know everything i needed to know about the adoption process here. they also redirected me as needed, made recommendations for my already existing pets, answered all my questions, and eased all my concerns. will definitely keep this place in mind as i look into expanding my (pet) family. they also let me know about upcoming events and their volunteer program. photos with santa sounds like the perfect thing!! i just love when i can tell people are passionate about their job/interests. thank you faith and luna's house! read more

We adopted our hedgehog from Luna's House in October. The staff was extremely friendly and responsive both before and during the meet and greet, and had us in touch with the foster parent to make sure we knew how to care for a hedgehog. Parker (formerly Lance Bass) is everything they said, and is a delightfully friendly and inquisitive little gal. Our vet gave her a clean bill of health, too. We would definitely look to Luna's House to adopt from in the future. read more

Great place to volunteer. The animals are well taken care of and everyone who volunteers here honestly care for their well being. This facility has all types of animals: Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, chinchillas, gerbils, rats, lizards, turtles, birds, etc. Most animals you can drop by to see, but if you want to see the dogs and cats you need to make an appointment. This location also has pet boarding which is very reasonably priced. In addition the location host a few events such as holiday bazaars as fundraisers every so often. read more

The staff are terribly rude. I volunteered there a few years ago and the staff were lazy and had some real attitude problems when I needed help with one of the cats. Don't even get me started on the one cat I worked with that clawed me in the neck and hated me. Would not recommend volunteering here ever. The staff never want to do anything and are just horrible. I wrote a message requesting the adoption rates for small birds. I also pointed out a couple of deficiencies of their website (no adoption rates listed, adoption form rejected but filled-out fields not saved, meaning user has to type in all 30+ fields again instead of just the one incomplete field) I received a very snarky response back. I love Luna's!!! It's an amazing organization doing excellent work to care for all types of animals. I have used them twice recently to board my six year old pup. I kept passing Luna's on my way home and decided to check them out. After reading a few reviews, I called and asked to tour the facility. The owners were very accommodating and once the tour was done I knew I found a "PetsHotel" that was genuinely a place that I could trust to provide the type of quality home away from home care I expect for my pup. Each time, he's come home from being boarded at Luna's, he's excited, happy, healthy and full of energy (not depressed and fatigued like he did when I used one of the other boarding options in the area - smh). He was even treated to a quick wipe down and smelled like a designer cologne - Tommy Holedigger - when I picked him up today. Cute! The staff and owners know my pup's habits and personality very well even though we've just recently become customers. Amazing service! My dog was treated so well there and when I got him back he looked so happy!! They were able to accommodate me returning a day early from my trip and even though it was closed on Tuesday someone was still there to help me! Luna's house is a god send when it comes to a place to care for your pets when the time comes that you have to travel. Not only do the board your "normal" pets but also small exotic pets. My wife and I have used Luna's House a few times now to board our bunnies. They know what to look for in case something begins to happen. I trust no one else to watch our girls like I trust Luna's. Also, the work they do rescuing animals is second to none. They do it from the heart. The genuinely care about animals and their well being. I cannot say enough good things about them and their volunteer staff. read more

They obviously don't want their animals adopted. Going through hell just to try to adopt a rat. I have had rats in the past and was willing to drive an hour just to adopt the little guy. It's been a 3 week process with email responses lagging up to 3 days. Then all of a sudden no more responses so I guess I'm not eligible? They want to call every vet you have ever been to and landlord over a critter with a 3 year lifespan who's already a year old. At this rate it will spend the rest of its life in a shelter. I understand wanting to make sure it gets a good home but I could probably adopt a human baby easier than this! Unfortunately I will be getting my rat at a pet store as much as I would have preferred to adopt. read more

I found a domestic rat on my porch. I had no supplies and had no idea what to do with it. So after catching him I ran out to buy it the necessities. I spent about $50 and that was my daughters b-day money. I contacted this rescue or advice. I even agreed to foster. No response. I found a great organization called Small Angels. I set up a gofund me and raise $75 for an exam and mite treatment. I didn't hear back from Luna's house for 5 days. I received an email saying they can't take the rat and will not courtesy post unless he is neutered. Like I have the money to get a rat neutered to possibly find an adopter. I really think it is absured and not helpful at all. Anybody else would have killed him to begin with especially my neigbors. Not wanting to help a rat because he isn't fixed is a death wish. Thankfully I found a good rescue. I am driving 2 hours total to fet him there because I care. Don't call this place unless you plan on getting an untimely response and told you need to come up with funds to neuter. I thought that is what a rescue does? At least all the others I contact do. I do not recommend this place. I didn't my part and they did not. read more

Got a rat from a breeder that said he took excellent care of his rats, they were all very sweet and friendly, and you wouldn't get a better rat. I took him home, and lo and behold, it turns out the breeder was keeping all his hundreds of rats in tiny, pine shaving boxes with nothing to do, their entire lives. He was an extremely mean rat from the neglect, first hour of having him he bit down into my bone. I have done my best working with him, he is terrified, extremely fearful of being picked up, aggressive, and destructive. He's more wild animal than domestic rat. This was NOT the rat I was prepared to care for, so we drove to Lunas house to surrender him and give a loving home to 2 more well adjusted rats in foster care, after not getting a response at all from phoning in. The volunteer was very rude, we were immediately told "I can't help you." And that I could not adopt rats because I was surrendering one, as if unknowingly having a near-feral animal forced upon me meant I was a bad rat owner. We were met with a lot of dismissive attitude and snark, and we were sent on our merry way. It's like they don't want their animals adopted. Unfortunately, I will now be buying my rats from a pet store, after looking forever for rats to adopt near me, not finding any, and being turned away by this embarrassment of an organization. You can board your animals here and rest assured that they will be taken care of extremely well. Spacious kennels, staff that truly loves animals, and a facility that is very well maintained and regularly cleaned. Staff are also happy to answer the phone and tell you how your pet is doing while you are away. The only place I will board my dog. Owners Lisa and Nevin are extremely responsible and caring folks who run this non-profit due to a passion and love for all animals. read more

We have used Luna's House Moondrop Inn boarding services several times since they have opened and we are beyond pleased with them! They are very caring and give a lot of love and attention to our dog. There is always someone on site with your pet, so you have peace of mind that they are safe and happy. The dog runs are a great size and their prices are extremely reasonable as well. Our dog always comes home very happy and worn out! He runs in circles with excitement now when we ask him if he wants to go to Luna's House. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to board a pet! read more

We dropped off our Bella at Luna's House to spend the night so we could attend a wedding. The next morning when we picked up Bella she was a very happy doggie!!!! Normally when we board her and pick her up she is mad at us for leaving her (at the old place) but this time she was very happy!!!! I would not recommend that anyone adopt an animal from Lunas House after my experience. The staff is extremely rude over the phone and in person. There is a serious lack of communication between staff members and when relaying information about the adoption/foster to adopt process and applications. I filled out an application to foster to adopt a cat and was discouraged from fostering that cat because he was "high energy". I was encouraged to look at other cats housed at Petsmart. I was told my application check would still be started in the meantime. One week later I called and was told they were waiting for me to call back and I had filled out the wrong application. I handed my application in person and the woman read it and asked questions. Not sure why I wasn't told then that it was not the correct one. When I got frustrated over the phone I was told " I don't know why your getting so upset" and that "I only heard what I wanted to hear". I had two other adults with me the day I was there and they heard the same conversation I did. I complained about the rudeness and disorganization and was then told that they wouldn't process my application because I wasn't a good fit for their animals. What a way to run a business! A cat lost out on a wonderful home because Lunas House couldn't accept a little constructive criticism and never even ran my application. Do they even realize how many cats in Harford County alone need adopted? I certainly didn't have any trouble finding another one to adopt. Shame on you Lunas House! It would also be nice if the cats' nails were trimmed so that when you visit and play with them you don't get clawed to death. Maybe Lunas House needs a little education on cat care? read more
