My dog went for his first "new kid" social assessment at day care and we had a great experience. The staff were very attentive and explained the entire process thoroughly, took pictures of him, and I was able to watch him play through the cameras. He had some issues with his poop and the staff informed me at pick-up and took pictures to include in a report card. I'm excited to take my dog back for more play groups!

    Happy birthday, Zeke!

Our pup Zeke is excited to visit each time we take him. Talking with the handlers gives us useful information that helps us to make Informed decisions as we work with him. Everyone here is patient with him and is working hard with us to shape his behavior. Today for his birthday they clearly made a big fuss and sent us fabulous pictures!

Extra fluffy after his first grooming.

This place is excellent! I brought my young golden doodle here for a grooming to check the place out, and meet the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and caring. The staff here clearly wake up here everyday excited to play with these dogs and care for them. They have live cameras setup so that you can see your pupper playing, and they ensure that all the pooches are vaccinated prior to acceptance. I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know that is looking for dog grooming or a day spa for their pupper. They also take pictures of your dog if you drop them off for daycare, and write nice notes about how it went.

I am writing this as my dog is checked in overnight at the Animal Emergency Hospital in Bel Air 24 hours after his stay in Joppa. Otis, our 1 year old healthy boxer, went for his New Kid Orientation last Wednesday to precede our two night boarding. We received no report card from this, despite being told at checkout it would be there. There are only 4 pictures in his file snapped poorly back to back. There was no written feedback from the initial eval that was required and we paid for. We went out of town the following Tuesday after we dropped him off at 12:30. We returned and picked him up Thursday at 6:00 pm. He again had no report card. No pictures. From a two day stay. We had no reception during our trip, so I called to check on him while I was in town twice, getting no answer. After the facility closed, we did get a frustrated retuned call from a young woman saying he "was fine and they would have called if there was a problem." The one time I was able to access a camera on Tuesday, I saw Otis in a side kennel separated from the other dogs. When I asked Amanda about this, she said it wasn't him, as they have multiple boxers every day. I checked all cameras and only saw one boxer and know Otis has distinct sock markings. (I'm also a veterinarian's daughter and sister, so I am fairly confident with my breed identification.) I called Thursday evening around 6:30 pm following pickup to find out about the missing report cards and pictures, as Otis' behavior was a little lethargic and my husband was pushed out the door so quickly at pickup with the assurance that "notes will be in the report card." (They also did not return our additional bag of dog food, but assured us he was fed the diet we provided). I was told that they would hunt down the stay information and call me by Friday (the next) afternoon. Around 10 pm (4 hours after pickup), Otis vomited. He was lethargic and retching most of the next morning so I called around 9 am to ask specifically if he had been sick. They assured me someone would call back. By lunch, no one had. I called again after lunch. Amanda (I believe) spoke to me around 3 and indicated that she was still looking for report card notes, but assured me he had not been sick while he was there. Literally the only record of him being at Joppa was the $180 bill I paid (they did process a fast return on the bath they did not give him). It was also suggested I medicate Otis for his nausea and that "it couldn't hurt." She assured me she would call back with the information on Otis's stay by close of business. It is now midnight and I have not received that promised call. I called our regular vet after being assured that Otis had not been sick at the facility and due to the late notice, I couldn't get an appointment until Monday. Otis continued to vomit, so at 8 pm, I took him to the Animal Emergency Hospital in Bel Air. Much of the forms I was unable to fill out, due to having no report card or stay feedback. Common sense indicates to me that my dog did not go from being perfectly well at BFF Thursday at 6 pm to hospitalized for what appears to be a stomach virus and early pneumonia by Friday at 8:00 pm. So either my dog got ill at BFF and no one noticed or he was ill at BFF and no one noticed. Not sure which is worse. The number of dogs being supervised at a time (based on my camera observation and their inability to process report cards and track down handler notes) is more than they can handle. The follow through and communication is so poor I will never trust them with the care of my dog again. At this point I paid $180 for a two night stay to BFF that resulted in $1200 in Emergency vet bills. BFF came highly recommended by two trusted friends who used them several years ago, but I can assure anyone looking for a facility that things have absolutely changed.

You could never go back and see the boarding because you have to make an appointment and my guess it's because it stinks back there. I know they give baths before pick up, but they have to because the dogs must sit in their own urine as long as they're there. I even noticed a sign on the computer, reminding the team to give the dogs water over the summer because there had been dogs boarding without water for the weekend. I need a new vet. Expensive, horrific boarding.

Absolutely horrible customer service! Tiffany at the front desk is atrocious and rude!…read more I will start by saying I am a seasoned dog owner, I've had my dog for 12 years. My family and I moved to the Towson area from PG county earlier this year. Transferring from our previous office Union Vet in DC- whom we loved. Towson Veterinary Hospital is very convenient to our new home, and my hope was that we'd found a new home for vet care. I was incredibly wrong. Today I noticed that I was charged for a wellness visit after just having a wellness visit 3 weeks ago- this fee was assessed for booster shot administration, and apparently because it was a Saturday appt there was no way around it. The issue I have is that nobody in the office communicated this to me at the time I made the appointment. Nor did anyone tell me that I could have scheduled my dog for a tech visit on a weekday and avoid the fee. Upon calling them to communicate my concerns I was met with defensiveness and attitude from the front desk staff, Tiffany. Ultimately she gave me excuses as to why I was charged and told me it was my fault that I didn't book a tech visit. I asked for her name and the office managers name and she replied, they aren't in, the doctor is in a visit and I will have to wait for a call back- and she hung up the phone! I promptly called the office back and spoke with Rachel, a very kind member of the front desk staff, who has excellent customer service skills. She was very transparent about the issue and has assisted me with sorting things out. She will put me in contact with the office manager early next week and the expectation is that I will receive a refund for the wellness visit- that my dog didn't need- on Monday. Despite Rachel's efforts, I've requested my dogs records and I will not be returning to this office for future care. As a new member of the Towson community, I can confidently say I've had wonderful experiences thus far. This has been an exception to that and I can only advise that pet owners in the area AVOID!!!

The service you receive here is directly dependent on the vet you get…read more I know by this time, I probably sound like the Goldilocks of veterinarians in Hartford County, but with three animals one who will be 15 this year a pet parent has to be picky. Unfortunately, this veterinary clinic like many other others, doesn't offer any type of wellness plans to help with payments like perhaps a senior plan for not only senior owners, but maybe senior pets would be helpful. Another thing that would be helpful is if you're going to prescribe a medication that has to be compounded that you're able to to give resources on the spot to the owner, not just let the owner go off trying to find a compounding pharmacy. Going through chewy is quite difficult because of the Veterinary clinic will not confirm with Chewy over the phone, you have to send the original written prescription to chewy. Can you imagine in this day and age not taking phone calls or texts or emails or something instead of using the USPS, what a ridiculous practice. My poor senior dog needs this medication and is coughing constantly, and this is what this veterinarian gave me? Nothing to help temporarily, but of course wanting to do all kinds of tests after stating "his heart murmur is at a grade3 now, no longer a one". I literally paid what I would pay for myself a Patient First, with x-rays labs and a work up. My daughter recently talked to somebody in Prague, whose cat had open heart surgery for $100, so as you can say healthcare is not only getting bad for us. We're not gonna be able to afford it for our animals either especially with clinics like this one that tend to prey on people, or at least that's how you feel as a senior. Never mind, trying to recoup your money for your overly done, newly decorated office, why not come up with some economic health plans for people in their pets that makes things more affordable that to me would be much more helpful.. especially knowing that you're the one that helped her renovate the office!!!! I'm praying my little buddy can hold out until I get the medication to see if that works but I, again, will be seeking another veterinarian office. But fear not, Harford County is loaded with them!

I am so disgusted and angry with this place. My son and I brought in our 11.5 yr. old chocolate lab…read morein a couple weeks ago. Given her age, we were preparing ourselves for the possibility of having to put her down. She was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis about 3 years ago, something common in older labs. It caused her to gag and cough, especially after eating. However, she began wheezing and she developed a stinky smell so we thought she might have an infection. Obviously, we wanted to rule out anything serious, so the vet suggested 2 chest X-rays and a complete bloodwork panel. A cytology test was done so the exact bacteria could be identified and correctly treated. She did have an ear infection and a leave-in type drop was put in to kill the germs. When she came back out, the x-rays and the bloodwork were normal. She "thought" the wheezing was due to the laryngeal paralysis and therefore suggested gabapentin capsules to keep her calm ( did absolutely nothing) and she wanted to give her a shot of Librela to help with the arthritis in her hind legs. Come on-she is 11.5 yrs old - ( it did absolutely nothing). She fell down our stairs the next am. We purposely put up gates and treads on our stairs to prevent her from slipping. The only problem was she wanted to be upstairs with everyone else. She barked non-stop so we took the gates down. After the appointment, I checked out and $900 later, I left, feeling unsure that Jess, our lab, was really okay. She continued to wheeze on the way home. She was due back on Feb 11 for a check-in. Well 8 days and $900 after we took her in, she passed away in our great room, in front of me and our son. It was horrifying to watch. She was raspy, wheezing, foaming at the mouth, lost all her bodily functions and just passed. She was my son's dog, his buddy. I immediately called Churchville Vet and an assistant answered. She put me on hold and when she got back on, she told me Dr. Kaufmann took a look at Jess' chart. And this is what infuriates me: after we dropped $900 the assistant said and I quote, "Well we're about to close right now; you can take her to HomeBound or Animal Emergency in Bel Air.." I was also told that the vet who treated her would be calling us. It's been 6 days and we're still waiting. I truly feel the vet should have brought up the end of life possibilities. I feel she misdiagnosed Jess, not realizing how bad Jess really was. I feel like we were misled to spend more money and what were unnecessary medications and vaccinations. I have had several dogs throughout my life and you know when they're not well; when you no longer want to see them suffer or their quality of life is not what it used to be. But before doing so, you want an expert opinion. I wasn't going to put Jess down after the visit because we were led to believe she had more time and was not suffering. But only 8 days after that visit, she was gone. I wouldn't wish anyone to see what my son and I witnessed. Therefore, we will no longer waste time and money at this place. Not one ounce of compassion, not a phone call from the vet, but they had no problem keeping $900 and leave our dog to die at home. Never, ever again.

My fur baby has been in great hands at this clinic, Dr. Spencer performed her spaying and she had the tiniest little incision (with a cold laser finish to expedite the healing). The wound was so small I was very impressed and my pet recovered very quickly. They also have trimmed my dog's nails for a small fee and offer grooming. Dr. Brown has administered Cher's vaccinations and has amazing bedside manner with the animals. The vet techs and office staff are also very attentive and caring too. I feel as though the prices are reasonable and that the value for money is excellent (her meds came with rebates sometimes too). Dr. Brown has been a vet since 1968 and has experience with treating exotic animals (I learned this from a side conversation with him). In his private office he has a beautiful McCaw parrot that was found in the parking lot, no owner, and when I asked if the parrot was surrendered he said no, he has wings and chose this spot, he could've gone anywhere--now if that's not a good "animal sense" omen I don't know what is! I learned of Liberty Animal Clinic per a referral from Precious Pups in Edgewater, MD where I purchased Cher. Precious Pups includes a checkup at Liberty Animal Clinic, stool sample inspection, as well as a spay & neutering discount with the purchase of every pet. So I figured I would go to Liberty Animal Clinic (out of my way, not close to where I live) for the service included in my pet purchase, and eventually transfer elsewhere. End story: I was so impressed with the service and care for my pet I continued to go out of my way to have Cher seen by this clinic. I'd also like to add that when Cher needed leg surgery for a luxating patella Dr. Brown gave an excellent recommendation to go to Beltway Surgical Referral. Another GEM like Liberty Animal Clinic.
