Based on recommendations from coworkers, took Jr here for lunch today. You get chips n salsa to start. We ordered the Asada Fries (the picture by the front door sold us) and a side of guacamole. Everything was excellent. I ordered the burrito lunch special And he ordered the chimichanga lunch special. We loved it all. Nothing was left over. We plan on returning to try more items. Large servings of hearty food at reasonable prices. The chicken soup is a sleeper hit, perfect for when you want a filling meal that doesn't feel heavy. The fajitas are excellent, but only come with a few tortillas. It's worth asking for more! read more

Had the fajita bowl-very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was good as well. Ambiance was a typical Mexican restaurant. Would eat here again. read more

Food was very tasty! Margaritas were just so-so. Service was very good. Atmosphere was great.

Went here for the first time for dinner and would definitely come back! Our server was very attentive and our food arrived quickly. The pricing was about average. I had the tacos de carne asada and my husband had the arroz con pollo. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks! read more

I ate at the bar since I was by myself and there was hardly enough room between the bar stool and the chairs and tables. I had a vegetarian meal and it good. Very friendly wait staff. read more

This place was pretty terrible. I didn't like my food at all because the sauce was disgusting, and nothing tasted good. I had mistakenly thought they forgot my tostada until the server pointed out the sad corn tortilla that was buried in a pile of lettuce that looked like garnish. The whole plate was distasteful, and I asked to send it back. (which I NEVER do, so that tells you how bad it was) The server said "OK, one moment" and returned with a person whom I assume was the manager, saying "What's wrong with it?" I told him what was wrong, and he basically shrugged his shoulders and said "not my problem," and proceeded to charge me full a plate full of crap that I didn't even eat. Any reputable restaurant would have at least apologized and offered to get me something else instead, but clearly the staff was not the least concerned with pleasing its customers. Good luck with that attitude.....if you don't care about your customers, and you keep up those kinds of shady business practices, the community has no reason to care about you or the survival of your crappy restaurant. read more

The pollo norteno is outstanding! I love the shrimp that comes with it and the meal is very filling. This is my go to spot when coming to Monroe read more

Had take-out over Christmas week. Food was plenty but due to reviews was expecting a little more flavor. Wasn't really a fan of the rice alone, mixed with the beans was good. But, needed hot sauce! Not sure chips are made on location. Will try again and see if it was just an off night. read more

Recently visited in their proud new location on the north end of the city. Decor is very professional and the food is simply amazing. On top of being impressed by the atmosphere and dining experience, the owners take extreme care and pride insuring you have the best experience. Thus, the service you receive is primo. I recommend the Texas Fajita Bowl as it is loaded with delicious tender meat and the green peppers are so fresh it's like they just came from the garden. You are treated with a very large cup of beverage of choice and all the chips you can devour. Greeted with a genuine welcome and smile, it's likely one of the top places for a professional business dining experience in Monroe. Two thumbs up on the new venture for Oscar and his team. read more

Had takeout so can't comment on service inside. Somewhat loud but again was a Friday night. The place was busy, the cashier stand took forever to get my order. Food was okay. Nothing like Mexican food from AZ or NM. Sauce was sweet. Enchilada sauce isn't supposed to be sweet. Only one of two options in Monroe so I will likely try it again, but something different with no sauce. read more

Didn't appreciate the owner mistreating my disabled wife! We went to Luna Maya with a group of 12 and were enjoying our meal. My wife has a disability and we brought her service animal. The staff started to vacuum the dining area while we were eating and it startled our service animal. He did a single bark and got back on duty under the table. The owner came to the table and demanded a license for the dog. My wife explained that there is no official license for service animals and offered an ADA information card we keep handy on us. It is illegal to ask for a license. The owner refused the card and proceeded to demand a license and reprimand us for not telling him that we were bringing a dog in and my wife offered the card again. He refused again but then left us alone. Then on the way out after we paid he decided to tell us he wanted to show us something and pulled up a Google search on dogs in restaurants. We offered the card again and he refused to accept it or even look at it. He was very rude and ignorant. We will not be back! read more

Awful food and service. Wasted my time and hard earned money. Should have gone to Taco Bell instead of this place. Owner or manager was disrespectful the second we walked in the door, just because we asked for a table. We placed into a booth despite other people sitting in th tables around us. Didn't get our one, simple plate of nachos correct. Our waitress ditched us too. Plus, they didn't care that a disabled person could barely get into the booth instead of a table. Which the manager then proceeded to seat people at that same table while we were eating. Never going back. read more

Nice clean and bright place. Larger than it looks. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Margarita s need work. Too sweet for my taste. Chips and salsa good. No kick to the salsa but ok. Guacamole tasty. I asked for off menu items and it was no problem. Chimichanga a wee bit different that what we have before. Will go back! read more

The food is typical mexican food with plenty of flavor to satisfy your hunger..... lots to eat so bring a friend and share. Luna Maya - a skillet of mexican food - Mexican Near Me - Monroe, Wisconsin

I have been to Luna Maya plenty of times and not once did I have a problem until now. I had 10 orders that I called for, I read all 10 orders, then I had the lady read all 10 orders back to me. I asked for the price and they gave me the price. I calculated everything on my own, to see what my co-workers owed. It was nearly the same price minus some cents. I took all of the prices from there ONLINE menu. After returning with the food, I opened my order, there were several things missing some items had no cheese, some were the wrong meat, and some had no rice, and one complete meal missing. I called them immediately about this and they were huge ASSHOLES about it, and said if I wanted to drive all the way back there they would give me my 10th order. Why do I need to drive all the way back there when they messed up? I called back and asked Oscar to read each order to me and tell me the price. After two seconds of telling me the first order, he says the prices on the ONLINE menu are WRONG. Even though we do great business there and do it often, he did not want to reimburse the money for the 10th order, did not want to discuss anything, and kept saying "just look on the wall, I have a piece of paper saying check your order". I had 10 orders, sorry I didn't check them before I left. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO LUNA MAYA BECAUSE OF THEIR BUSINESS. AND WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE ELSE KNOWS AS WELL. If they mess up your order, THEY DONT CARE. read more

Nickel and Dime. Office ordered over $300 in food on a Friday. $2.00 pick up fee. Unmarked food containers. $1.25 per cup of hot sauce. $1.00 for sour cream. C'mon, really? Passable food if you like teeny tiny tortillas that can barely handle the fillings. Reconstituted rice, you could tell by the pees in the mix. Chicken for fajitas not cut and was difficult to do so with the plastic knives provided. Not much courtesy or consideration. I'd hate to see what the service is like in the restaurant itself. It will make a turd, but consistency has yet to be seen...... read more

This place might not look like much, tucked into a strip mall by a tanning salon, but its worth looking into. My lunch consisted of a potato burrito and spinach quesadilla. the potato burrito was basically deliciously mashed potatoes inside a burrito. Amazing! I could have had three more. The quesadilla was crisp and creamy with a strong presence of spinach. I was dining alone and the staff was respectful enough to not check in too often, but enough to make me feel like I had what I needed. I look forward to my next time here! read more

The atmosphere is your typical Mexican restaurant. The food is a bit pricy, but you do get a decent amount. However, it was too salty for my taste. Our server wasn't the greatest. There were only 4 of us but she failed to keep our drinks full and she also forgot some of the sides we ordered and we were still billed for them. We will not be returning. My suggestion is to avoid this place and save your money. read more

Arguably one of the best places in town to eat. If you're in the mood for Mexican, go here! Huge menu and great staff, it will be difficult to end up disappointed. There are few places in Monroe that are worth having a sit down meal at but this is one of those places. Luna Maya is consistently good. Their salsa is a little different each time, which keeps it interesting-just don't forget the queso dip with the chips and salsa, I have been unable to find a replicate anywhere else!! read more

My favorite Mexican place to eat. I can't speak to its authenticity (never been to Mexico), but I have loved every meal I have ever eaten here, and it's been many. I have always had very prompt and polite service. The food has not always been fast (depending on how many customers they have at a given point, although this has improved greatly recently), but it is hot, and delicious. So, so delicious. The free chips and salsa are a huge perk. The salsa is so good that I want to drink it with a straw. No matter what I order, whether it's Burritos Cho Cho or the Burrito Grande, it's always perfectly cooked, and made to my preferences (I'm allergic to the red sauce and hate hot lettuce, their staff has never screwed that up). I have yet to try a margarita, as I am usually driving, but I hear they are delicious. read more
