The crust....mmmm...so as we sat there eating awesome pizza and cheese curds we saw a board with all these different Moscow Mules...I don't like to mix what I'm drinking but Jason made a Moscow Mule for me to try...WOW! We stopped here for drinks and dinner because it wasn't far from where we were staying and it's definitely the place to be because it filled up fast. I'm not a snob so I can do a nice place, a dive and anything in between which was how the weekend went. The bar was pretty busy for a Saturday night and I was going to do a fresh patty burger but pizza after pizza was going out the front door so I might rethink my burger. The place is your typical Wi small town bar and not a dive but old looking that is CASH ONLY with a full bar and restaurant. The menu is decent for a bar and they take the food seriously with fresh beef burgers and real pizzas. I had a couple beers and gin tonics which were ok and not top shelf. The place is pretty loud and it was hard having a conversation but it was the place to be. We ordered the 16'' Soprano pizza with sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, fresh mushrooms, onions, green peppers, green olives and black olives. First off they don't skimp on the toppings because they were plentiful and the pizza was really good with a nice saltyness from the green olives that worked so well. I doubt that they make the crust and I could be wrong but it very good because it was not thick or cracker thin but a nice in between that was like a fresh chewy crust from good fresh baked bread. It was weird to bump into the owner of the bar that we usually go to for drinks and pizza like we were cheating on him but it was all good but unexpected. Overall the pizza is good, the drinks are ok and the prices are very reasonable for a casual dinner and drinks and I see why they were packed and the lady's working the bar did an outstanding job keeping up with all the people. read more

We had great food here! My husband had the special and it was tender and juicy! The sides/appetizers were delicious! The auction across the street provided great people watching. I found this place by chance, it is the halfway point of my journeys to Platteville and back via Hwy. 81. It was a Saturday, and i ordered the pizza of the month. Bomb. I stop in now every journey and have made a friend in Jason the owner. The staff is very friendly. I like this place so well that i drove an hour several Xs to give them support when they were closed inside during coof, and carryouts were the only game in town. Gotta love Lafayette County! We golfed at Yellowstone and headed here for a late supper. We tried a spread of the menu. The creamy cheese curds are the bomb. They are lightly breaded with white cheddar. Homemade and delicious. Cheese sticks so good with a nice variety of dipping sauces. The Main course was a Prime rib sandwich which didn't make it long enough to take a picture. It was the best sandwich I've had since we want to Philly and ate at Jim's. Pizza is as legit as the picture show. The crust is soft and yummy. The perfect amount of toppings. Once again happenstance and hunger and time collide on the road to land us in an incredible place. It was getting late and we HAD to eat. I think Wisconsin has an overabundance of great small town bars and this is certainly one of them. The owner was very accommodating and friendly too finding is a low table to sit at in the back. Apparently Good Fellas is the place to be on a Sunday night. There was a good crowd around dinner time, but still plenty of space for our party of 6 to sit and get some drinks and food. Our group was definitely the out of town visitors here, but we loved the small town bar atmosphere. People of all ages were present from early 20s to folks in the 60's-70's and they would say hi to each other as they came and went. Food is typical bar food, but done well. The deep fried cheese curds, deep fried string beans, burgers, prime rib sandwich, and BLT are all very good. Our waitress/bartender was friendly and she came by frequently to check up on us. Prices are great too! (Compared to city prices in NYC and Washington DC that we're used to paying.) read more
