Gave this place a visit since it's the successor to the Galena Brewing Company. We knew they'd be changing hands around our last visit there, and they've made some wonderful changes. Had the Apple, Cranberry, Pecan salad, the kids' brisket smash burger, and the brisket crunchwrap. I also had to use the beer cheese soup and pour it into the crunchwrap because, why not? They had plenty of great items to choose from, and I had to ask about their most popular items because I had a hard time choosing. Everyone loved what they got, and the food really did taste great. Pair it up with all the great beer they serve, and this place has definitely improved. We used to come to the Galena Brewing Company but felt it had gone downhill, unfortunately. This feels like what we were hoping for with new ownership and rejuvenated menus and staff. You're likely to run into times where you'll experience live music, loud volumes, and plenty of visitors, but our visit here was during a non-busy time since they just opened for the day. We appreciated the food quality and friendly staff. So happy that this place is so new and improved. We are looking forward to coming back to try more menu items! read more

Bailey was such a nice server! Attentive and nice! We got some appetizers and the cheese curds and pretzel are way worth the price and easily shareable. They're big portions! A nice place to sit and watch a game or have a drink. Reasonable priced. Will be back! read more

The Chedderwurst. So much for loaded with cheese curds. The first 2 bites had zero cheese. So I cut it down the middle to find 1 cheese curd. Very disappointing. Waitress needed retraining on the menu. She was nice though. read more

We are German and ordered the "German" brats. They were horrible, not like any brat much less a German one. They tasted mealy and had a texture I can't even describe. No credit was offered when we let the waiter know and then he wanted to know if we wanted to go boxes!! The homemade chips were great and the potato salad was good too. read more

First time here. Quite good. Went with the burnt ends and sweet potato waffle fries. Had the Hinterland Helles to wash it all down. Clean restaurant, attentive staff. Give it a shot. read more

Its like someone did a great job making a brewpub but an awful job operating it. Good draft list, nice glassware, solid variety, ph of the water is a bit off. Good food menu beyond your standard bar food. Atrociously understaffed and mismanaged. Typically if your understaffed you should seat the number of people your staffed for. Good staff too but they have absolutely no shot at servicing the number of people they seat. Its a take as old as time itself. Hire someone to run this place or shut it down, no reason to delay the inevitable. read more

What a GREAT addition to Main Street, Galena. Updated decor done by the talented Vignettes is a nice improvement for the venue. We tried the fabulous, super tender brisket, flavorful carne asada, and excellent ribs. The apple coleslaw is like christmas in your mouth! Our server was friendly and attentive. These new owners really seem to know what they are doing, especially considering they have been open less than a month. We were also pleased to hear that they are bringing karaoke back - terrific open floor plan and acoustics! read more

My fiance and I gave the place a try, and he got the ahi tuna tacos with Chipotle aioli (something that would normally be right up his street). He is not a picky eater, and rarely ever complains about restaurant food or service. They were horrible. He couldn't even finish them, which is almost unheard of. The drinks and my pulled pork sandwich were just mediocre. We thought maybe it was just those items, so we went back again to give it another chance, and this time it was even worse. He ordered the shrimp tacos this time, thinking maybe he just didn't like ahi tuna or something. He said no pico. The service took a long time, then the shrimp tacos came out, covered in pico. They didn't even bring out his side dish. The drinks were, again, mediocre (even though one was a super overpriced $14). My fiance just left and went to a different restaurant. My smashed brisket burger was just okay, the side of mac and cheese was not that great, couldn't finish it. We won't be going back. They never did bring out his side dish. read more

This pub recently replace the Galena Brewery. The brew master and his dad are now the new owners. What a difference. We were welcomed when we arrived and seated in the dining room, a large open room. We could see the various areas from where we were seated and the place just looked fun. The menu selections were a pleasant surprise.... BBQ'd favorites. We started with the pretzel... WOW, it was huge and delicious. We ordered the BBQ two meats, brisket and ribs with sweet potato fries. Our second side was the apple, cranberry, pecan salad. We shared this entree and it was amazing. What a great addition to the selection of restaurants in downtown Galena, to now have a BBQ place. The atmosphere was fun for a pub, the food was delicious. Stopped by on Friday night during karaoke. Our server Bailey had awesome energy and was a lot of fun. All of our drinks were well made, and the staff were willing to provide tons of recommendations.
