Julia at the front desk was so kind and helpful in getting insurance, paperwork, and services scheduled and ready to go. It was totally seamless. The dentist himself and dental hygienist both delivered excellent service and walked me through every step of the x-rays and cleaning. Totally cool that they were able to capture a 3D image of my teeth so I could see in detail what they looked like, including what my bite pressure was (didn't know this was possible to measure so easily). As far as the cleaning itself, it wasn't painful at all and the dentist made sure I felt comfortable and relaxed. They give you a pair of sunglasses to block the light, they have music playing in the room, and a TV with movies if you want to watch something. The cleanliness of the office was pristine, and parking was available right out front of the building. Super easy. I'm new to Dallas and I am so glad I chose to come here. I will be back.

Lisa quickly verified my health insurance and the hygienist was great at her job. Dr. Penn was friendly and really makes you feel at ease. That was almost 8 years ago! I absolutely love everything about Dr. Penn's office. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The majority of Dr. Penn's staff are longtime employees and obviously they are the glue that holds everything together. I always request Paula when scheduling my visits but on the few occasions that she has been out of the office, the other hygienists have been great too. My teenager outgrew his pediatric dentist and has been seeing Dr. Penn for a few years as well. If Dr. Penn is not on your dental insurance plan please call their office as out of pocket expenses are very reasonable and well worth it. This is not a fancy dental office with flat screen TVs. So I called Kessler Park Dental and they told me there that this was something they could do if i so desired ? So I thought, well they performed a write up on cost on paper with a 500 dollar charge for there so called preferred pricing and another 35,000 for the saving of these teeth that's if there were no other issues (yea right). I made it clear I wanted dentures and asked the dentist he tells me that he felt uncomfortable pulling in his words "teeth that can be saved "? Its very plain to me that this set up is very capitalized in a money making machine. Never mind what the patient wants. A few weeks later I had a crown come off and called them to put it back on. Went in, they said the tooth needed to be removed. And guess what, I asked to remove the tooth I was told they did not do extractions there, WAIT A MINUTE. They lied to me, denture service includes extractions, he decided to do nothing at all sends me up front for a referral for an oral surgeon. Clear across the other side of Dallas. And charges me 147 dollars for doing nothing. And to top it off I had to find my crown on a table I guess they thought they were going to keep it. Shameful just plain terrible, I wanted to warn anyone who may assume that they have a say in what happens to there teeth its plain to see that this dentist is only after the money.

I thought they wanted to hurt me, not pay attention to my needs while in the chair and more interested in the money or reimbursements received rather than patient care. To my surprise Kessler Park Dental is totally opposite of a sterotypical dental office. They are not a puppy mill and they truly pay attention to detail. I was impressed with the level of knowledge the dental staff have. You can tell they work as a team and that Dr. James takes good care of them. Outside of routine dental services I was surprised they off a service that whitens your teeth without the downfalls of getting veneers. Its called micro etching. The results are amazing at the fraction of the cost. I am now a believer that not all dentist are bad dentist!!! If your looking for a dentist don't hesitate, Kessler dental won't let you down.

The wait to get into a room was reasonable -- they were upfront that they had surgeries ahead of me, which made sense given I was a walk-in. My only critique is the process leading up to the surgery felt rushed and a bit impersonal, with a lot of "the surgeon has to go" energy. Understandable given the schedule, but it made an already nerve-wracking situation feel less comforting than I'd hoped. The extraction itself, though, was fantastic. First time getting a tooth pulled, and I was bracing for the worst -- but the oral surgeon and her team talked me through everything every step of the way, were reassuring, and it went smoothly with surprisingly little pain. 10/10 for the surgery and the surgeon's chairside manner. A few points off for how rushed the lead-up felt. If they brought that same warmth to the whole visit, this would easily be 5 stars.
