This coffee shop building is so cute! It looks like a trendy shop you'd see in L.A.! It is drive up only and lucky for me, there was no line when I arrived! The girls that took my order when I visited were so energetic and friendly! They quickly made my drinks and sent me on my way. The lattes were overly sweet (and I like a sweet coffee) but lacked a rich coffee flavor. My drink reminded me of a gas station coffee that had a bunch of over the counter syrups pumped in. There are so many wonderful coffee shops in the world, but I'd skip this one if I was ever in the area again. read more

I wanted to like this place. This was just my experience. The server stated that there wasn't a way to combine fruits due to it being a syrup. I got this and tried to order a large size but was told I couldn't. However, on the DoorDash app, you can order a large for $1.40 more. The medium costs almost $9. When it's not fresh, I don't think the price is worth it. This is a drive through. There isn't a place to sit. I'd be willing to try the coffees. read more

Food was alright - got the floral fog (tasted like a light London fog) and the smoothie was light with chia seeds; the turkey bacon ciabatta was nice though and tasty! Service was a little slow for a drive through and took a while to get the orders straight and unfortunately they already were out of the turkey bacon ciabatta It was cool to see a nice drive thru coffee shop though! I stopped by for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich on a week day. Pro's: Very cute drive-through establishment and friendly staff. Their positivity made my morning! Con's: When ordering my beverage, there was not a nutrition guide to inform my choice at the kiosk or on their website. The food itself was just ok. Cafe Au Lait tasted like a very watered down drip coffee with a splash of milk. Because it is drive-through, I had already driven away and did not drive back to see if they would remake it. Egg and cheese on an English muffin was as described but nothing special. The muffin was warm but soft with American cheese. I had expected a crispy toasted muffin with a real cheese. In summary: cute drive through shop with friendly staff, food and drink nourishing, non offensive to the palate, but nothing special. I would consider going again in a pinch but it's not my first choice. read more

Stopped in because I was at discount tire across the street. We waited at the window for a long time, drove around to the other window. Still waited, went back to the other One waited more thought the place was closed, but the open sign was on. We seen employee sitting on the floor playing on their phones. I stopped by here this past Sunday morning with my wife for our morning coffees. Lumen is located in the same strip mall as Walmart (much further back though) and is a drive through coffee shop. Actually getting in and out of the place doesn't exactly feel intuitive even if it's not terribly difficult. Since it's a drive through coffee shop there's not much to say about the building other than it had two windows which you can order from. For my coffee on this morning I departed from my usual Americano whenever one of their specials, a honey lavender latte caught my eye. Since it was hot out on this day I also decided to get it iced. After a couple of minutes wait I was soon on my way with coffee in hand. Whenever I first tried it I really enjoyed it! There was a hint of coffee flavor to it but the real stars were the sweetness from the honey and the nicely muted flavor of lavender. As a matter of a fact I liked it enough that it was quickly gone and I was left wishing for some more. The bottom line for me is that I would head to Lumen again in the future. Even though their drive thru layout isn't the most intuitive my coffee here was really good. read more

Favorite coffee place ever! So happy that this place is super close to my house because I frequent it often :-) I like their flavor combinations, one of my favorites is their honey lavender latte. Also, I have never had a London fog until coming here and love it! Its a combination of coffee and whatever tea they have brewed for the day, for example the one day they had earl grey and other day they had english breakfast. The best part is they serve pastries from Daube's bakery that are delivered daily. If you sign up for their rewards program, after your 10th visit you get a drink for free. My only compliant would be that they don't have an area to sit down inside and enjoy their coffee -- its just a drive-thru window. read more

Lumen is a quick, convenient stop on my way to work in the morning, however every now and again I'm disappointed with the drink quality. This morning my Dark Choc Iced Mocha was awful... the flavor was more like dirt than chocolate and my drink was gritty and slimy at the same time? From my time as a barista, my assumption is they haven't properly cleaned the espresso machine and the chocolate syrup wasn't well mixed into the drink... TLDR; Convenient but not consistently good. read more

I have to say I'm really impressed with this drive-through coffee shop. This was kind of a foreign concept to me when I moved to Minnesota from California - not so much having a drive-through, but definitely not having somewhere to sit inside! However, I was pleasantly surprised. Well I don't consider myself a particular expert on roast, the coffee is quick, hot, tasty, and the service is pretty good too. What I really appreciate about this place, besides the hours (they open REALLY early for those crack-of-dawn shifts,) is that their flavors are pretty original. They don't follow the typical Starbucks type offerings with variations on caramel, hazelnut, and chocolate. Particularly good flavor combinations here include the Miel, Almond Butter, and Cookie Butter. I'm still making my way through all of the different flavor profiles to find my ultimate favorite. They also have offerings from a local bakery, Daube's, in the way of pastries, bagels, and donuts. It's a great way to get a quick fix for breakfast if you're rushing on your way in to work. The one drawback, and the reason for four stars rather than five, is that they are not particularly cheap. You will pay as much there as you pay for a fancy large-chain item, and while you get pretty good quality of food and drink, it's not by any means mind blowing, particularly the food. And, their loyalty program is just OK - after 10 visits (no matter how much you get on each visit), they give you 50% off one item. Bottom line is that it's well worth going if you're in a rush or want a really nice, original flavor for your coffee, however you'll pay as much or more here as at a large chain. If you're like me and would still prefer supporting a small, local business rather than the chains, absolutely go for Lumen coffee every time. And, regardless, be sure to stop by and try it at some point! read more

I think you guys are just neat, and swell, and convenient, and very within my budget to have frou frou coffee drinks on a weekly basis. Dear other people. Do yourself a favor and get some lattes. I love the honey lavender latter and hope they keep it around even after the season is over. There are some other delectable specialty drinks that I know are MN friendly- chai, gingerbread, some other thing. They just began offering Daubes donuts! Lumen Coffee was a random find one day when we were leaving Sam's Club. I had seen the little building from the road, but didn't know they had amazing coffee! They appear to be a drive-thru only, but that's okay with me. The coffee selection was great. I went with a cookie butter latte (the only time I've EVER seen that flavor on a menu). It was creamy, sweet but not overpowering, and piping hot. My husband tried the hot chocolate and while it was good, it wasn't his favorite he's had. He was hoping for a stronger chocolate taste. They serve baked goods from a great little bakery in town, which is so nice to have on the north side of town if you don't want to make a trip to the actual bakery. The barista was super friendly and offered me to enroll in the rewards program they have. I will definitely be back and try some other menu items. The location is really conveinent if you are driving on hwy 52 or visiting Walmart/Sam's Club for groceries. read more

We are in town from Las Vegas and this is by far the best coffee we've ever had from a coffee shop. We are extremely picky and drink our coffee black with half and half only (thanks Keto!). The coffee is smooth and rich with a wonderful depth to it. They offer a unique variety of flavors that I would love to try if I could have the sugar. We got our son a smoothie and they make them with fun colors and even edible glitter on top. He was in heaven! To add to how great their coffee is, the barista is super friendly and even offered suggestions for places in town to check out. We will miss this coffee shop when we head home! read more

I'm all about the indie's! Loved this little coffee spot kitty corner from my Rochester hotel.... easy drive though and while I didn't go inside. I'm sure it's adorable! Im a little predictable in that I like an almond milk latte pretty nice every time but their menu had me asking what was in a few of their specialties and they nearly had me at a peanut butter/marshmallow concoction when I realized the lunacy and chose a lavender honey with coconut milk (oat was a third non-dairy option) and sipped my delectable warm beverage for an hour enjoying every single second.... and did I mention the young gal at the window was an absolute delight? This isn't a fair rating because I didn't really have a good clean coffee. I had the Nicaragua blend with cream and sugar. I prefer to drink it black to tell whether I liked it or not. It tasted pretty generic to me with manipulated ingredients. I'll have to review next time I'm there. read more

Especially considering the shop's name, the barista was not very bright... The menu said they had a sugar free toffee flavored syrup, so I asked for a medium sugar free toffee latte with skim milk. She said "A coffee latte? Sure" I corrected her. No big deal. Then she said "do you want skim milk?" even though I had already specified. Still not a big deal. She ran my card without confirming the price. She gave my card back and said "What size... small right?" ... all of this I was willing to sweep under the rug until I tasted it. Not bad coffee, but not a well made latte. I don't think she frothed the milk at all, and it tasted like there was maybe half a pump of syrup. Not great at listening or making a latte. read more
