I feel bad for a low review but it kept getting worse as time went on. Between being sat and paying we have been here over an hour. It appears they are short on servers so lots of open tables and lots of people waiting. The food was alright... I had the scramble which was very salty but otherwise good. My boyfriend had the sour dough burger... it was ok. He also ordered the coleslaw which had one of those plastic wrap tags in it! that's not ok. We stopped in for a quick breakfast because we were staying at a local hotel and they offered $4.50 specials. We arrived and did not have a reservation but they were happy to seat us when a table opened up. They only can sit about 16 right now but totally understand and its not their fault. The food was really good and the service was excellent. My only beef was one of the specials was a bowl of fruit and toast and the bowl was way too small. Compared to the other $4.50 specials I kind of expected more. I tried some of the bacon and sausages from other plates and they were good and the hash browns looked amazing. This restaurant sports huge portions fit for a lumberjack! The interior is decorated in woodsy items like axes, old rifles, blades and pictures. The staff is friendly and work quickly. We came in at about 8 am and were seated immediately. We ordered a bloody mary, griddle combo and big John's biscuit. I chose sausage and a Belgian waffle for my combo. The sausage was delicious, not overly salty. My two over-easy eggs were absolutely perfect, with beautiful runny yolks and the waffle was pretty good. The entire plate could have been a bit hotter, especially the waffle. Big John's biscuit was huge and really tasty. It had that nice tang that comes from the buttermilk and was complimented well by the two sausage patties and over-easy eggs. Excellent service and delicious food. Restaurant was clean. Customers were seated well apart. Staff were friendly. Food was excellent. Bathrooms were clean, although one stall was missing a door... I had the steak fajita wrap. It was delicious. It was so much food, I couldn't finish it. My husband had the chain saw and it was bomb too. The kids meals are a normal adult size meal and the adult menu items are enough to feed two people. So much food. Would definitely come here again. We had lunch at Lumberjack's while passing thru Willits on the way home from a trip. We had the half ham sandwich and soup, and the California Wrap. Short of going for one of their salads, these are about the lightest options you'll find on the menu. Otherwise, you're looking at heavier, greasier sandwiches and burgers, or breakfast fare. Both dishes we received were good. The menu didn't make it clear, but the chicken in the california wrap was grilled. The chicken was grilled well and combined with the avocado, made the california wrap a good dish. For side on this one we chose potato salad. Nothing spectacular there. The half ham sandwich was decent, and the soup of the day was chicken tortilla. For half sandwich and soup, it was a large dish. Paired with sweet potato fries on the side, it was a substantial meal. The sweet potato fries were good too, thickly cut, crisped on the outside, and not greasy at all. Drinks we had were coffee and a soda. Soda's your typical pepsi fountain drinks, and a good sized cup. If not going thirsty enough to have refills, the cost is probably not worth it. The coffee came in a decent sized mug and for the afternoon, seemed to have come from a fairly fresh pot. Seriously, there aren't many dining options in Willits. The place feels somewhat economically depressed, nice town but not much going on. We came upon this place that looks like the typical suburban, adjacent to strip mall type chain diner. Inside it had all the same feel, look, and atmosphere of one. Seated promptly in a booth it took some time for serviceto arrive, and in a matter of fact a couple arriving after usgot served first by a different server. Ours appeared to be a bit asleep on the job, friendly enough but not too swift. The menu is extensive, big plastic card pages broken into breakfast, lunch and dinner; again all so typical for these types of places. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not adverse to eating in a place like this if it's good, but this one was just plain middle of the road mediocre. Sure enough we were on the late side of lunch service and there weren't many patrons, but enough to keep the place alive. One waitperson was definitely on top of her game and seemed to diligently care. Wish we had her but overhearing her expression of "hope that went down OK' was a bit offputting. We both ordered the tri-tip sandwich which for nearly $15. looked huge in the menu photo. Well, turns out the plate was huge but not so much the sandwich. To be fair it was enough for me, but not he-man gargantuan as portrayed on the menu. The meat was tender enough, and bread was quite good. The French dip type sauce was tasty. I had a side order of slaw that was inedible. I gather slaw is not porpular with many diners here and it tasted off, like it sat around for a very long time, perhaps even frozen for days (?). I can eat and tolerate a wide range of things, but this was just nasty. There are these huge screen TVs hung overhead playing these animated lumberjack scenes, eerie and rather spooky. So, although we were fed I wouldn't highly recommend this place. There's a small Mom and Pop type coffee shop in the strip mall just behind. I would guess the quality is much better as there was a line waiting for service (walk up counter). Wait and try it if you can. The saddest part of our meal was seeing this young man sitting at the large lumberjack statue outside talking very animated to no one. Cell phone? Big link sausages, thick ham slice, and thick bacon were all flavorful, not too salty, and were obviously high quality meat. Yum!! But too much for the hungry logger, we took half the meat back to our camp for the next day's breakfast. -- "flapjacks" (pancakes) were very good. We switched to butter from the standard margarine it comes with on the side, because we prefer butter. I cannot say enough about their delicious maple syrup. Best I've ever tasted. I wish they sold it. -- egg scrambles your way. Anything from a variety of cheeses to bell pepper, mushrooms, onions, etc. They had about 12 items to choose from, the first 3 are included in the $10.99 full breakfast. I love scrambles, it was nice to not have to beg to switch or add items. -- choices...hash browns, country potatoes or fresh fruit. French toast, flapjacks, or biscuit. Atmosphere & Service: -- very friendly staff, we were checked on and spoken to by every employee who walked by. Our own young waitress needs a bit more guidance in attentiveness quick welcoming, but overall she was capable and will improve. --cute, lumberjack design and theme. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and friendly. Nice bathrooms, too. This is a chain of some sort, but we don't have them in our own area along California's Central Cost. Could Improve: -- the country gravy, and even the biscuits. Both were nothing special. -- The hash brown oil. At first I thought the prepared potatoes had sat in the walk-in uncovered overnight. But I settled on it being the oil. They were cooked to perfection, just had an aftertaste that I wanted to mention. I was afraid to try it, but several Yelp area breakfast places were closed on Wednesday or no longer in business. We had lunch at Lumberjack's twice when we drove through Willits. The food was great, and the servers were very pleasant.

Came in with a family of 7 and it was a chore , but thanks to May, she got my family and I seated in a shaded area on a hot summer day. I have lived here for a little while but NEVER stopped in. I am glad I did. I was not expecting a phenomenal experience, but my ENTIRE family was so impressed with the food , the selection and most importantly, our waitress named May. She is as an absolute professional ! Most times the wait staff can make a break an experience she definitely set the standard high and I will forever compare this location to others in regards to service. I / we had the burgers, sandwiches and open faced turkey sandwich which was amazing and made it feel like thanksgiving in summer. Whoever the cook/culinary team was, THANK YOU! This location is located off the 101/Highway 20/Main street which all combine in Willits, California. There is abundant parking in a large shared lot. Breakfast here will run you about $15 a person including tax and tip. I was so hungry this morning that when the food came I just gobbled it down instead of taking pictures. I enjoyed the two egg special and four pieces of large cut Applewood bacon. I found this location busy, with every table taken, excellent service, and clean bathrooms and kitchen. The food was well prepared, fresh, and tasty. Though this is specifically not the healthiest choice for breakfast it sure hit the spot perfectly; YUM! May visit again if in the area and will reserve a 5-stars rating in the future if they clean the carpet a bit and continue to provide consistent and exceptional food. I loved the way it looked on the outside (like a big log cabin) and it sounded like a great place to get a big breakfast. I was right. Inside was a very rustic, woody feel. Large saws hanging on the walls and large televisions showing lumberjack competitions. I enjoyed watching this while waiting for my meal, which didn't take long! The waiter was very friendly. First place you see when you drive into Willits... and one of the very few places open on New Year's Day. It's a huge place and apparently a chain with restaurants sprinkled all over Nor Cal and out of all places, Vegas. I had the bacon, bbq, onion ring burger (seemed to be what I craved this weekend)... and had to cut this bad boy in half... it was HUGE and doused in bbq sauce... too much, for my liking... so much so that the bottom of the bun was drenched. It was still pretty good though, don't get me wrong... :) It came with a choice of seasoned fries, cole slaw, potato salad or fruit... I got it with seasoned fries and a side of their home made blue cheese dressing - I love home made blue cheese dressing. My boyfriend got the roast beef sandwich au jus and it was pretty tasty too... ask for a side of creamy horseradish sauce. Came with the sides mentioned above and a baked potato for just an additional 99 cents. Can't beat that! As if we weren't full enough, we got the mini banana cream pie... and while it wasn't the best I've had... I couldn't put my fork down. I found this restaurant on yelp and it looked good...not to mention it was a block away from our hotel. My mom is picky so this seemed like a good choice. We ordered 2 plates to split between 3 of us. 1st was the grilled chicken plate with veggies and a soup. 2nd was the combo plate tri tip and sirloin with a baked potato and salad bar. Salad bar was great, I loved all the choices. We ordered the steak and tri tip medium rare and both came out closer to well so we had to send them back. That is my only complaint. Service was great.
