Service at the bar was good considering every seat at the bar was taken. We ordered our food and it was out within 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, but subbed the sides for the whole fried okra and Gouda grits. When I say those grits and okra hit.....somebody in that kitchen knows what they're doing! The chicken breasts were juicy and flavorful. The spice level was typical for Nashville hot chicken, which I sometimes I can't take. But I loved the flavor so much I couldn't stop eating it. The line was long and moving. The service is of southern kitchen, expect someone screaming "next" at the cash register. The menu is at the front by the register, in chalk, so it gets updates throughout the day. While ordering you are informed which items are sold out. Seating is sparse and 1st Come 1st Serve. I ordered the chicken plate. The chicken was crispy, seasoned and juicy - Perfectly fried. All of the sides were good except the cornbread. Just skip tasting the cornbread it will ruin the meal. Overall, it's Southern Soul food; however seating and dynamic menu presents the most challenge in making it an enjoyable experience.
