    Gravy biscuit

Placed an order to go. Gravy biscuit was bland and they left out the hash browns I ordered which I unfortunately didn't realize until I got home.

Took over a hour to get food and the food was horrible. I would not recommend. Just go to Jacks across the street.

In town for a conference and the restaurant was a block from my hotel…read more Inside is very casual. Kinda bar-like with a nice restaurant vibe! We sat at the bar since it was packed. Service at the bar was good considering every seat at the bar was taken. We ordered our food and it was out within 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, but subbed the sides for the whole fried okra and Gouda grits. When I say those grits and okra hit.....somebody in that kitchen knows what they're doing! The chicken breasts were juicy and flavorful. The spice level was typical for Nashville hot chicken, which I sometimes I can't take. But I loved the flavor so much I couldn't stop eating it. I will eat here again when I return to the city!

It had a good energy right away. I had been looking at a few things on the menu and was really going back and forth. I was interested in the hot chicken, the Brussels sprouts, and also the ribeye Philly cheesesteak. They told me both were really good, and I ended up going with the ribeye Philly cheesesteak. Great choice. I also got a side salad with the chipotle ranch dressing and that was very good too. Picture below. For dessert, I was planning on getting the key lime pie, because that is usually my move, but Hayden my server talked me into trying the blueberry cobbler cheesecake instead. I am glad he did. It was very good. Picture below. Between the crowded room, the good service, and the food, this was a very strong experience all the way around. I am giving The Southern Kitchen & Bar 5 stars.

Hello my little yelplings! I'm not sure if I'm just lucky today after my past week of weird…read morecircumstances, but I actually landed excellent barbecue, in back-to-back visits of barbecue joints! For those of you who don't read my reviews, only about one in five barbecue joints I go to make the cut. The last one that didn't make the cut, was that fast food place Smokin Ds in St Augustine Florida. Anyhow, let's get to Big J's. I'm parked across the street, which I park at semi often, and throughout the years, and have only been next door at the vape shop in the strip mall. I think the other times I've came by they were closed, but they weren't closed today and I kind of expected them to be. I wanted to have supper here last night, but I had to go endure tragedy at the Mexican restaurant in the same row. I noticed they were open today, so I mosied it over about 1:00 p.m. The place is really clean, it's a family run outfit, and they are ALL SO nice. So I wanted a brisket plate, but the nice young gentleman behind the counter told me that it wasn't ready and it would be ready in an hour, so I came back at 2:00 p.m.. I ordered brisket, collards and green beans. Again if you don't follow me, you don't know my culinary history and that on the smoke pit, but this place was just about as good as my own. My collards were fabulous, green beans were off the chain, my brisket was hot, tender and moist. So good! They went above and beyond, the young gentleman at the counter asked me if I was a truck driver after placing my order, which I am an O/O, and I got something free or got a discount, not too sure what it was but I got something! That means a lot, we spend weeks and months away from our families to bring ungrateful people the things they want, so it's a little gestures like that that really makes a difference to us. Well they definitely have a lifetime customer. I just have to make sure when I pull here that they're open. But I'll definitely be back! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. Five Stars -- This Place Saved the Trip…read more Let me set the scene. We were heading to Callaway Gardens to pick up some Venice jewelry (I'll talk about that later), when I discovered that the Oyster House -- the seafood spot I was counting on -- was permanently closed according to Yelp. I was devastated. Like... fully prepared to cancel Pine Mountain altogether. I was having a whole moment. Then I did a little digging and found out that Eddie Mae's Kountry Kitchen & Oyster Bar had the same owner. I found this out before we arrived, and I knew immediately -- we HAD to stop there. And let me tell you... January 3, 2026 -- this is all I needed in my life. This is GOOD seafood. Like, really good seafood. Freshly cooked. Hot. Flavorful. Done right. The service? AMAZING. The people? Warm, genuine, country hospitality at its finest. The vibe? Real, welcoming, and comfortable -- no nonsense, just good food and good people. Food. Service. Atmosphere. People. Clean restaurant. Clean restrooms. Five stars across the board. I'll be honest -- I will never come to Pine Mountain again unless I know Eddie Mae's is open. I need y'all to hang in there with me because otherwise I can't even travel outside of Atlanta for real. If you want legit seafood, incredible service, and that authentic country goodness -- this is the place.

Wrangling twenty hungry folks is no small feat, but our waitress handled us like a maestro conducting a seafood symphony. Not one single mess up. Not one forgotten order. Just pure joy, laughter, and the kind of energy that makes you swear her heart runs on sweet tea and Sunday kindness. She didn't just serve us, she took care of us. Her laughter kept us laughing, her smile kept us smiling, and her love for what she does poured out like sweet tea on a hot day. The world needs more people like her, because she reminded us that service can be more than just food, it can be a refreshing, soul filling experience. And the food? Absolutely amazing. Not only did we have seafood, but some of us went for the buffet, the kiddos got their grilled cheese, and the burgers were downright delicious. Plates of goodness that made us forget all about yesterday's turkey coma. To top it off, they had my favorite wine (hallelujah!) and beers for everyone else, which meant the whole table was happy. Eddie Mae's gave us more than lunch, it gave us a memory. A funny, touching, belly filling memory that we'll be talking about for years. Five stars, no hesitation.

When we arrived we notified them we had a party of seven. Two waitresses started discussing moving…read moretwo tables together but they could not get confirmation if they could do it or not. They asked us to have a seat and said it would be just a few minutes. After watching three other families come in and get seated right away we were still waiting. 30 minutes later we finally got seated. They ended up making us wait until another family had finished and left. It took forever for them to take our drink orders. And thankfully everybody already knew what we wanted to order so we went ahead and ordered at the same time. We ordered fried pickles. They are the absolute worst fried pickles I've ever had. You could not even taste a pickle flavor. They were so thin that the batter dehydrated them. No flavor at all other than salt. Then came the extremely long wait for our food. Looking around the room everyone was having to wait and extremely long wait for their food. As people that were seated before us still had no food. When our food arrived, all of the adult meals came out but the two kids meals which were just hamburgers and fries took over another full 5 minutes or more before they brought them out. Waitresses were not spending anytime filling drinks. When she did ask my husband about needing more water he said yes he was going to need more water, but she never brought any more out. I ordered the country fried steak. The batter was very dark and color like it was overcooked or cooked in old grease. One of the patties could not be eaten because it was so overcooked and burnt. The green beans were very mushy my mashed potatoes and gravy were cold. My daughter ordered fried okra and it was cold. The cornbread muffin was so small, my guess is it was the last of the batter being used. I could have eaten it in one bite. But it was so dry and flavorless that I chose to leave it on my plate. When the waitress finally asked how everything was I told her about our experience with the overcooked country fried steak and the cold okra and cold mashed potatoes and gravy. My husband ordered prime rib and it was way overcooked versus prime rib that you see at other restaurants. My mother's steak was overcooked and her grilled shrimp came out cold. The waitress brought out replacement mashed potatoes and gravy and replacement fried okra. I asked her about taking something off of the bill since I could not eat half of my dinner. She tried to say that the mashed potatoes and okra that she brought out were extra helpings, but I explained to her they were not extra that they were replacement for what was cold. I was not asking for a replacement country fried steak but I would like something off of my ticket. She finally agreed and took $5 off. Also with us having two children in our group they gave us one children's menu. These are the menus that have a coloring page on the back. We had to ask for a second kids menu and had to ask for the crayons. When our food came we also had to ask for silverware. Do not waste your time waiting to be seated and do not waste your time waiting for your food here. It is not worth it. They definitely have issues in the kitchen, as I was checking out I heard the waitress say that she had to make peach muffins because no one else had done it and they had run out. Overall I felt like I was in a living episode of Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares.

We ordered two Meat & 2's and both consisted of A Big Fat Fried Chicken Breast, Black-Eyed Peas and Mac n Cheese. As always the chicken was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside with that perfect fried chicken skin and totally moist meat. The mac n cheese was very moist, not really runny and the texture was the perfect chew. No mushiness and no hard noodles. The black-eyed peas were out of this world good. They had a bit of spice in them and cooked good ole' Southern Style...cooked! We ate and ate until there was not more room. We gladly took our left overs for another wonderful meal. As we were leaving I said, oh, no "I forgot to take pictures.
