Amazing Homemade red velvet cake! Miss Shirley insisted we have a piece on the house:)

Driving through from Louisiana we wanted real food not fast food and we got a 5 Star homemade meal! What a little hidden gem in the back of an Exxon gas station. Miss Shirley and her grand daughter were very nice and attentive. Yes the building is old but it was very clean and furnishings were in very good condition. For lunch you pick a meat choice and 2 sides, or whatever you want that will fit on your plate, plus selection of breads. Our meal was so very good, not dried out, not overcooked, not over seasoned just delicious. And Miss Shirley insisted we have a piece of her homemade cake. It was a wonderful real homemade dessert, homemade icing with hand chopped pecans. We now have a favorite place to stop on our 12 hour drive. Looking forward to our next stop to visit with Miss Shirley! She shared with us that she's been in the restaurant business for over 40 years, her adult children continue to run her first restaurant that's been in existence for over 30 years. What an awesome hidden gem!

Me and Shirley and the best breakfast I've had in years!

I am from California and just got my trucking license and my first trip was to Georgia. Stopped at many truck stops hopping to find a gem like Shirley's Country Kitchen and boy, it was worth the wait! Nothing like grandma's cooking when you are soo far away from home! I was lucky enough to meet Miss Shirley and promised her the next time I'm around I'll stop by and fill up...

It's ok. The chicken was good and juicy. The cold slaw was too vinegary. The food was slow coming out, but overall it was good. Would I come back? maybe.

I could genuinely tell it was made with love and care. It instantly reminded me of how Anton Ego felt in Ratatouille. It was like I was reliving the very first time I tasted fettuccine Alfredo. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. The service was incredibly friendly and warm, making the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was charming, cozy, and spotless. I highly recommend Venucci Italian for a cute date night, a girls' night out, or simply catching up with friends over a great meal. I'll definitely be back!

We ordered mussels to share. 12 good sized mussels, flavorful broth, very garlicky. Lukewarm. Server didn't bring bowls for shells or proper small forks.Three small pieces of plain toasted French bread slices to sop up broth- not enough, no flavor. I ordered the duck and asked specifically for medium well with crispy skin. Came medium rare with soggy skin under a raspberry purée. I couldn't eat it, but didn't bother sending it back. If they can't even try to get it right the first time, why bother. My husband ate mine and I ate his pork chop- dry, no flavor. They didn't have any decaf coffee and server offered to brew a pot of regular coffee. For gods sake get a keurig. Creme brûlée was tasteless. Overall a below than average performance for a "fine dining" establishment. Won't go back.

Save your money and go to Waffle House. Oh yeah and it took over an hour just to get the appetizers as well.
