I had never been to a Lululemon location before, and was pleasantly surprised when coming here. First off, I had no idea they sold clothing items for men. I truly believed they only sold items for women. My ignorance aside, I had a mission - to purchase workout gear for my girl. The staff was very helpful and quickly came to my aid. YES, I was also surprised at how expensive everything is here, but the quality for leggings is supposed to be far superior, so I figured that purchasing leggings here was a sound choice. I was told they also repair here, but I couldn't really process the if/whens about it, so if you have gear from Lulu and it is somehow damaged, it would be wise to call and see if they may be able to fix it. All in all, this was a nice experience, and (after I save up some money) I'll be back in the near future. read more

I shopped here a month or so ago and although I love the brand I truly do not like the staff. From the moment me and my bf walked in we were being watched/followed. Literally anything would pick up or have in my hand this older female worker would act as if she wanted to assist me after I told her numerous of times I didn't need help I was just trying to put colors together she constantly walked up to me to take Items from me and told me she was leave them at the front for me when I was ready to check out. My boyfriend was with me and he had to run across the street to use the restroom at Starbucks due to them not having a public restroom the moment she seen him walking out the store she bolted to the front to see if he had anything in his hand. Meanwhile none of the other shoppers got that treatment in the store and we were in the store for about an hour trying on things etc. I hate to say it but unfortunately I do think it was because we were African American. It's sad because we spend a lot of money at Lululemon. I wanted to leave I didn't wanna purchase anything but my bf know how bad I wanted the items I had so he purchased them and we still spent $500 that day alone. I understand people are snatching And grabbing clothes and running out but don't treat every African American you see as someone who's looking to steal and also never judge a book buy it's cover. Just because someone might look like they don't have money doesn't mean that they cannot afford high end items. I definitely will be shopping at the somerset location moving forward. read more

I love this lululemon location! The girls here are soo helpful and kind. I definitely prefer this one over the Troy location. Parking is easier (I may just be lucky, but I always find a spot right in front), the associates are willing to help more, and the store is more organized. This location is also far better during covid because you are exposed to less people. They only let a certain amount of people in and make you hand sanitize as soon as you walk in. I loved the variety at this store and the organization was great. I do wish that they had more color options in a size 4, I noticed that they had many colors for other sizes (especially 2). I came in a few days ago to purchase some new workout clothes and also got a couple repaired. The repair drop off process was very quick. I'm planning on picking them up in a couple of days. While I was trying on different styles of leggings, the girls were sooo helpful in describing which pant was best for me. I tried on about 5 pairs and decided on the wunder under HR train. These are definitely my new favorite leggings, they are soooo soft and fit perfectly. I purchased black. I also ordered a shirt that they didn't have in stock in my size and I went home and ordered another one. I came back in yesterday and I left with a new pair of leggings! I loveee the color so much. It's another pair of the wunder train HR leggings and the color is a cloudy grey/white design. I LOVE THEM!! The only colors that they had left in my size were: dark grey, this color (which was the last pair), burgundy, and a greenish striped color. I did like the green one too, but these were definitely more unique and much cuter IMO! I loved the color so much that I wore them today and forced myself to go for a run in them. I plan on adding more of these leggings to my collection. I'm very picky about workout clothes and I strictly only shop from lulu and a couple of other places. The quality at these stores is unbeatable and definitely worth the price. I'm excited for my other items to arrive! The wunder train HR leggings are by far the most comfortable leggings that I own, the workers here are very very kind and helpful. I know that someone mentioned a bad experience with the manager, but she was so sweet and helpful to me! I can't wait to add more to my lulu collection :) read more

The Birmingham employees are always very welcoming and willing to help. However, with the busy holiday season, I experienced major attitude at the cash-wrap. I purchased two $200 gift-cards, and they no longer had any of the small zipper pouches to keep them in. When I asked for a small bag for each of the gift cards, I was told no. I thought my request was pretty reasonable, so I waited 5 minutes and asked another associate. She was happy to provide me with two bags. I will say that I wish this lulu had more space to carry more products. It can be awful to park, but I feel this location is much nicer than the somerset collection store. I find that the associates are much less overwhelmed at the Birmingham location, and are more willing to help. Keep up the good work lulu b-ham! read more

Today I bought a sweatshirt, hoodie and then I returned it after seeing a better jacket as I walked out. I then bought the jacket and the sales girl cut off the tag and I went out of the store. Five minutes outside, it was apparent that this jacket was holding in moisture, so I returned to the store and wanted a refund. The sales girl gave me a lecture and stated "once tags are removed, you can not return the item". I reminded her that I returned my hoodie earlier without the tags and she returned it. I then stated, she was lying and that she was making up stupid stories. I then told her that I was going to call the police and she proceeded to tell me that I was being aggressive. I immediately called another male worker to stand as a witness because this assistant manager was lying again. The other manager then returned my item, but was condescending that she was going to do this a one time. Total psycho idiots working at this location. Do not go there! Horrible return policy! Awesome athletic store with a huge variety of clothes. It is very pricey so beware! One pair of pants is about $100. They do have men's and women's assortment. The service is great, but I did feel like it was too much at times asking if I need help or looking something in particular every 2 minutes lol Anyway, I can say the store is clean and inviting. It was an expensive day, but well worth it. You gotta admit, nice outfits motivate the eagerness to work out ;) when you feel beautiful, you want to do stuff! Brought back a brand new pair of pants with tags and gift receipt, the girl at register would not issue store credit "it's our new policy, exchanges only" basically you have to keep bringing your pants in until you find another item of same or greater value to exchange... had to drive to another store, where I had absolutely no issues returning for store credit. #lululemon, please train your employees! read more

I was in utter shock about how awful the customer experience and retail team performed at this location. As a avid lululemon customer the team failed at providing accurate support let alone due diligence on the items I was attempting to trade in and the clothing I wanted to purchase. All in all, it lost lululemon a large sale and potential long-standing customer. Highly recommend visiting and purchasing at another location when buying lululemon. The staff here, especially Ryan and Caitlin, we're frustrating and disappointing to deal with after providing two separate outlines of "changes" company policies I have never heard of before and refusing to allow me to further trade in and move forward with my purchases. They should at least get on the same page about their different versions of "corporate policy". read more

3 times I've been to this location and they struggle to keep healthy stock of size 6 women's pants. Sales rep was nice and made comment about how size 6 is most purchased size. I would think the company could somehow account for this, particularly if the majority of customers need this size. If I go to local store it's because I want to take them home same day, otherwise I'd order online. Maybe I'm use to the Chicago locations which seem to keep up with demand. read more

Always well organized and there is always somebody around to help. They even tailor the clothes for you right in the store. The product mix here is always a little different than at Somerset, which is nice. There's not much to say about this spot-- it's got everything you'd expect from lulu lemon. High prices, yes, but priced relative to value when considering the quality and cuteness. It just doesn't get cuter than lulu. I would have only given 4 as there's nothing particularly exciting about the place itself, but the service is very good. Corporate policy regarding returns is kind of strict, but they're willing to work with you here. And they're always very nice, helpful, and attentive yet leave you alone if you don't want help. If you are eager to get your Lululemon fix and are somewhere around the Metro Detroit area-- heck, if you're in all of michigan-- this is your store. Most of the sales people are kind, helpful & knowledgeable, & will go above & beyond to help you find what you are looking for. They have a sale rack that is usually stocked, & a large amount of inventory. I am a huge recruiter for this store- I am always pleased while shopping here & after leaving! My one complaint is regarding a repair I had lulu do. My pants had a hole in them & I took them back in December 12 to be repaired. The girl told me they'd be ready in three days. I returned in four days & the girl was super nice but my pants were still not done. My next return to the store, over a week after the original dropoff, the girl was as rude as ever. She kept rudely saying "well did they call you? If they didn't call you then It's not ready. Did they call you?" She made no effort to try & find them, & spoke to me with disdain & disrespect. While I understand it is a stressful time for retail, I am a lulu fiend & spending $100+ on each pair of leggings- a little kindness would be appreciated. The next time I returned, it was right before Christmas & the girl that helped me was very sweet & went on a hunt throughout the store in an attempt to solve the pants caper. Lo & behold, the pants were repaired & just misplaced in a different spot. I wish all sales people were trained to be lovely & to go above & beyond as she did. read more

Even though this is further away than some of the other lululemon locations for me, it is my favorite location to shop at. The staff is very attentive and sweet but not overbearing which is so important to me as a shopper. There's nothing worse than someone breathing down your neck asking u if u need something every 5 seconds. They also always seem to have what I'm looking for unlike the other locations which are always picked over. They held an item for me and when I picked it up they called me by my first name as I shopped and graciously thanked me for my purchase. I do not own one Lululemon garment, but I did plan on buying something soon. I have seen my yoga instructor wearing their stuff and really admired the quality. Since I was already shopping in Bham, I decided to drop in. When I walked in, I was meet with loud, overwhelming DJ spinning, club-type music! I walked over to the pants and I was delighted by what I saw - some bright clothes with nice structure, some workout clothes that do not look like workout clothes, but the music was overwhelming. One salesperson walked up me, the music was so loud I never heard him walk up. He startled me! I was in heaven. Heaven because of the clothes. I was in hell. Hell because the music was blaring in my ears! I asked the uppity salesperson about a pair of pants, I had to read her lips to "hear" her answer. If I were not deaf or hard of hearing before I walked, I definitely was after. Didn't my mom and doctor tell me that loud noises are bad for my hearing? This is not the place for me. If you value your hearing and you want to continue to hear the sweet sounds of the birds in the mornings, stay away from this place. The workout clothes are cute, albeit a little expensive, but the loud music BLARING throughout the store makes going into this store unhealthy. Save your hearing and your money, bypass this place! Pros: easily accessible building, almost overly-attentive, uppity salespeople, cute and stylish clothing, nice materials used, free 2 hour parking in the decks, closer inexpensive street parking Cons: the volume of music is just to loud, store not kid friendly just because of the loud music, expensive items (but this isn't Nike stuff), you might need to know how to sign or read lips in order to get answers to your questions, company return policy is harsh (just by reading other's comments for different locations), uppity or snobby salespeople, recent CEO comments can make you feel like a 12-14 size is huge. read more

Jenny was awesome. They have a pretty big store. I was looking for some basic black leggings my size wasn't out so she ran to the back and found some. My friend had never been into Lululemon store so she was educating him on different styles and different options. He ended up with a jacket and shirt. When it was time to check out Jenny didn't mention the total out loud we asked her why she does that and we loved her response. Something on be lines that she like to protect the customers privacy. Lululemon has been my favorite brand for years. If you want quality clothing that's transitional between work, working out, and going out, then go to the Birmingham location where the staff knows their regulars by name and are super accommodating. Awesome store, awesome staff! They change the layout all the time so it's always interesting and I always see new stuff I hadn't noticed, the staff is very knowledgeable but doesn't overwhelm you, and they are SO accommodating! I have had multiple items altered or repaired and each time they made sure I was satisfied whether it was via the repair or with swapping out my item for a new one! They helped me find items my boyfriend loves without him even being in the store, which is a huge A+ for me! Love love love this store and people that work here! read more
