I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time was a really good experience, this last time not so much. For one the service was inconsistent. They really didn't seem to care much about keeping drinks full, and oddly enough every time they would bring out a drink it was in a different size glass. I decided to order the Filipino lechon, really regretted that when I got it because it did not taste good at all. Ended up throwing half of it away. My partner and the other two people at the table enjoyed what they ordered much more. Also the appetizers were very tasty! I would definitely give them another try, might have been a combination of getting there later in the evening and me ordering a special that isn't normally on the menu.

Bang bang shrimp

Love LuluBangBang! We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a reservation since it was a Saturday night but would have likely been fine without one. Service was quick and the food options are plenty. We started off with an order of Bang Bang Shrimp since we love theirs. We also tried the sticky ribs, which were good. My partner got one of their mocktails, which we both enjoyed. As I mentioned, LuluBangBang has so many food options so it was hard to choose. I love a bento box so I went with that and I was very happy with my choice. It comes with hibachi chicken, rice, 3 pieces of nigiri, and some fresh pieces of fish. I was impressed with how good the fresh fish was! Then for dessert we had their Thai tea creme brulee and blueberry peach cake. The Thai tea creme brulee was delicious - it tasted exactly like Thai tea! The blueberry peach cake was less sweet than I anticipated and did not have any peach flavor but was also still very good. The only weird thing is the water. It tastes like a mix of metallic and flat seltzer water. We asked our waiter if he maybe gave us sparkling water and he said no, that's just how their tap water tastes. Take with that what you will. Overall, our bill was about $200 for 4 people, which is about what you will spend anywhere in the Triangle for a nicer dinner now. Definitely worth a visit and I look forward to when we will come back.

I can't remember the name of this but wow, what a burst of flavors! Lulu hasn't disappointed yet! Def recommend if you're in the area!

The esthetics of this place are very nice! The hostess didn't greet me and my guests but maybe she wasn't clocked in yet. A waitress walked up and got us seated. The food didn't take too long. Some found their meal to be a tad salty but overall it was cool. I was disappointed with the "Crispy Sweet and Sour Chicken". It came like warm, and tons of sweet and sour so I couldn't eat/enjoy the meal it was intended. The bang bang shrimp were a hit! The potstickers were just okay... The Mongolian Chicken was tasty. The waitress were nice and attentive. Overall I would return again just try a different dish.

This was a to go order and I cannot rate the restaurant. But I was a little sad that I ordered online, picked up and left without noticing my drink was missing and when I got home. I realized that they left my drink off of the ticket attached to the food order even though it was paid for as well. I would check any online orders twice before walking out. The restaurant looked great though, and it was well decorated with ample seating for large groups and quite busy on a week night . My tuna poke was also really delicious with fresh tuna, no fishy aftertaste and really fresh sides/pairings. It was a lot of food, tasty rice too, so I was satisfied!

Krab Lover's Fire: Got this last time too and loved it. I don't like sushi, so that really says something. 10/10, $17 Kung Pao Chicken and Almond Cashew Chicken: Both very yummy, but needed more rice to balance out the sauce. 10/10, $16 each Spicy Mapo Tofu: I didn't really like this because they used silken tofu, which is quite flavorless, and it also wasn't as visually bold as I hoped it to be. ?/10, $15 Crispy Chicken Wontons: Flavorless wontons with yummy sauce. 4/10

Great second experience. Food was great! Had the blue fin roll, vegetable dumplings and honey chicken teriyaki. All dishes were delicious!! I can't wait to come back and try more from the extension ver menu. I loved the gift envelopes it's for the holidays. Cute touch. Our server was also very friendly accommodating and had great recommendations. The whole staff made sure we had great service they worked s as a team.

I walked into this restaurant, but based on how busy they were, I would definitely recommend a reservation. We sat at the bar. The food was fresh. It was really good! I had a sushi platter, which I would recommend to anyone. We could see the kitchen so we saw a lot of the food come out and I would pretty much try anything on the menu. I was traveling in for work, but I would definitely stop by this restaurant again if I had the opportunity.

THAI RED CURRY with rice

We came to LuluBangBang on a Friday evening. I made reservations prior to the day but it didn't seem like they were necessary. Multiple people were dining in but it wasn't overly packed. There is a full service bar and multiple seats in the business. There is also a private dining area available. We were initially seated right away in a tight corner by the hostess. We asked our server if we could move to another table nearby. Our server Kelani was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. I ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer. The shrimp was good. I got the red Thai curry dish for my entree. This dish is very flavorful, served hot, and I enjoyed it. My only complaint about this dish was that the green peppers in it were really big. I was given a small bowl of rice with my large bowl of the Thai curry. I had leftovers and asked if there would be a charge for more rice and I was told yes.

KUNG PAO CHICKEN

This is a beautiful and really big restaurant that I knew was going to be good just by seeing the amount of people eating here for lunch at 12 on a Monday. The parking lot in the front was full but thankfully it wraps around the building. The inside is nice and spacious with different kinds of booths and seating areas. Our server and the hostess were both extremely friendly and helpful while looking through the menu. The prices are fair and the food came out in good timing. The presentation of the food was also beautiful. We were able to be in and out within 40 minutes. We got the spring rolls, fried chicken bao (ordered from all the reviews about it), evil noodles, and kung pao chicken (asked for it to be less spicy). The fried chicken boa buns were as great as everyone said- the bao was so soft and chicken was so good that it didn't even need all the toppings in it. The steak in the evil noodles was so good that it made me want to try the mongolian beef dish. The noodles were great too. I would just say the amount of peppers and carrots it contained filled a bowl up and after removing a lot of the veggies I didn't have much noodles. It made it feel like too many filler veggies that were clouding the great noodles. I didn't find it to be spicy either. The kung pao chicken dish was good and we got it with fried rice instead of jasmine. The fried rice could've used a bit more flavor but overall the dish was good!

YAKI UDON STIR FRY CHICKEN

We had a lot of food this night because it was my first time and I could not decide what I wanted to try. We started with the crispy fried chicken bao (3 bao included), steamed dumplings (5 included), and the crispy tuna bomb. They were all fantastic. The crispy fried chicken bao was the most delicious bao I've ever had in my life. It was seasoned well, it was moist, the sauce was delicious. Amazing. I could have only had that fried chicken bao and enjoyed my meal for the night. The steamed dumplings were good so definitely worth a try. The crispy tuna bomb was delicious and I don't even eat tuna really. I highly recommend it. The yellow curry dish was excellent, even with the cashew in it. Very filling and delicious. I loved most of the food we had here. My one complaint was the Yaki Udon. The dish should be renamed "Hunting for Udon". It was like they didn't have enough noodles to provide so they filled the dish with pieces of chicken, tons of carrots and bean sprouts so you'd be distracted by the fact that you couldn't really find the udon. I'd never get this dish again. Our waiters were also amazing and helpful and funny. The restaurant was offering half-price bottles of wine as well which was great after a long week. I cannot wait to go back to this restaurant. The restaurant was pretty full but it's a huge location so they're bound to find seating for you.

The service was excellent. Kelani (the waiter) was extremely welcoming, kind, pleasant, and attentive. The restaurant was clean and presentable. I do recommend LuLuBangBamg I went with the Mr. Gandhi basil fried rice and added salmon. This entree was loaded with vegetables and bursting with flavors. The eggplant in this was so good. Not a vegetable I'd typically go for but it was still all love. The temperature of my entree was PERFECT! Slight mess up: The salmon was not medium well as ordered. A bit overcooked. Perhaps the wok was too hot. The wins: Overall, I still really enjoyed the dish and cleaned my plate. Service and flavors here didn't miss a beat.

Loved this place. The ambiance was nice and the food was super delicious. I got the Mongolian beef with lo mein noodles and the jalepeno hamachi (must try!). On that top of that the entire staff was very friendly, great customer service!

The waiter was so helpful and knowledgeable. I loved the esthetics of the restaurant. The food was amazing. We ordered several appetizers and 2 entrees. We ordered the fried ribs, duck spring rolls, and crispy shrimp....Amazing! We also ordered the sizzling lamb dish and the beef noodles..again..AMAZING! The food is where it loses me because of how expensive it is and how it just not good enough to justify the price. We went for our 5 year anniversary. We called ahead to have the whole duck. But it definitely not a whole duck. It definitely was a lovely experience but it a bit expensive and not every part of the duck like we thought. We got some appetizers. We ordered the wellness soup and the tea smoked fish fillet. Both were super yummy. We ordered this lobster dish which right away was too rubbery and overcooked after one bite. The wait staff was quick to suggest us to order something else after noticing we didn't love it. He took our lobster away and we went with the seafood Tom Yum. It was yummy but again not worth the price. I have had more flavorful options for a better price. We got the tea which was wonderful. It was nice how they kept it warm and kept refilling the hot water. We got some dessert which was yummy but nothing special. Again I think it was a good place but for the price it needs to be more consistent and have a better wow factor.

I almost didn't go, because I thought this was the downtown Durham restaurant, which is nice, but parking nightmare. Glad I went, though. The food was solid. I had the fired chicken sandwhich and fries the first day, a buffalo chicken wrap the second day, and the smoked chicken wings the third day, yes, 3 in a row. That has to say something, especially for me. All lunch items were pretty spot on, although I like a little more vinegar in my slaw than most. That was remedied by the texas pete on the bar. The service staff were all hands on. If the bartender was not there, the manager or a back of the house person was always checking on me. Very nice staff. As far as the ambiance itself, nice setup. Good sized bar, nice big patio, clean indoor and restrooms... all in all, I could not ding them for anything. I need to go to check out the weekend brunch or dinner menu. I am sure that I will not be disappointed, however, I have been told to get to brunch before noon, as it gets very busy, also a good thing. Cheers. :)

Thursday night, with no expectations, we were immediately delighted by the welcome at the door, the great music and decor, and the menu as explained by our wonderful server, Drew. We shared 3 smaller plates that were set atop the most delicious sauces: Pickled shrimp with fried green tomatoes and fresh beans (good start); Crispy grits cake with chanterelle mushrooms (delicious); and Pillowy ricotta gnocchi bolognese (transported us to northern Italy). Now for mains. Drew recommended two items and we got both: Grilled wahoo with squash, okra and an unctuous sauce that made this deal like a meat dish instead of Jamaican-style fish; and Wood grilled local pork, sliced off the bone and atop another amazing sauce, with crispy onion rings. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine with the meal ( the approachable wine list is filled with options - from reasonable to "special occasion only" prices); again our server Drew recommended just the right one. We were going to skip dessert but glad we didn't after seeing every table have a warm chocolate soufflé cake with brickle ice cream plunked into the middle and chocolate sauce drizzled across it. So glad we ended the meal this way, with a glass of port. We cannot wait for an excuse to enjoy another treat meal like this in Durham. Put Nana's at the top of your list.

While the food is on the pricey end, the portion sizes make up for it and the quality is there. On my first visit, I tried their Tres Amigos dish. It is basically a mix grill with shrimp, steak and chicken. It came with rice, beans, and veggies. The meats were super flavorful and the rice and beans were actually great! I hate it when a Mexican place just dumps overcooked rice and goopy beans and calls it a day. The veggies were very clearly frozen and came from a bag, wasn't all that excited by that. I think arroz con pollo (ACP) is one of the simplest, yet, most delicious Mexican dishes. It is chicken, cheese and rice, how can you mess that up? Mamacita does their ACP justice. The chicken is tender, there is a nice balance between the cheese and rice, and it is just a great combination altogether. They also do a decent job with their birria tacos (although wasn't the biggest fan of the consume) and their churrasco plate. They even top it with a legit salad, not just the chopped lettuce and tomato. In the end, I am always full and satisfied with the meal. I certainly think this is worth a visit.
