I've ordered 3 separate times from here. I work in the area so I've ordered delivery. Lateness of delivery isn't the restaurants fat but Grubhub. As for the food which I'm eating. It's been Amazinggg. So delicious. Today, my food came over 2 hours late today (lots of rain) but it was still warm. I ordered the short rib with rice and brussell sprouts. It tasted as good as Thanksgiving dinner with all the hype and hunger included. Their portions are well divided and generous at times. Quality of food makes Boston Market look like McDonalds. They have a freqeunt customer right here. Keep up the great quality food, don't get stingy on portions and y'all will do great. read more

I have picked up food from Lula Bird a number of times since it opened. The chicken is always tasty and the sides, especially the cornbread, are also great. It was always a bit pricey, but has recently become even more expensive. The 1/2 chicken combo, which I recall costing about $15 now costs about $18. I've been passing this spot on my way home from yoga for a while and finally decided to stop in after happy hour. I split the #3 combo with my roommate and we both had leftovers for lunch, all for under $25!!! The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the peanut sauce has a mild curry flavor that was really good, the sides were yummy, and it all comes with the best cornbread I've ever eaten. This is my 2nd time getting takeout from Lula bird! The first time I had the quarter chicken with collard greens and cauliflower n it included corn bread. Omg it was the bomb! So delicious! This time around I ordered quarter chicken, potatoes and cole slaw. The cole slaw was a little too vinegary for my taste and the potatoes were too salty and charred. The chicken and cornbread were spot on like the last time! I think if i try them again I'll stick to the fried cauliflower( Wednesday's only) chicken and collard greens. It seems if ordering takeout ahead of time they only pack your items when you arrive so you'll still have to wait. Might as well order in the store. read more

Stopped in here after work one night and after hearing all the hype surrounding their chicken sandwich I had high hopes. While the sandwich itself is ok the real hero of this story is the green sauce. Much like the Peruvian Aji verde just a little thicker it really helped bring the sandwich to the next level. I don't often write reviews, but when I do the restaurant is either really BAD or really GREAT! In this case, Lula Bird is great. The food is outstanding and tastes homemade. Do yourself a favor and order the cornbread and collard greens. Just do it, and enjoy. The chicken is terrific. If I could make one suggestion to Ms. Bird, it would be to get some better take out containers. My deliveries often arrive leaking. Also, don't combine combo #1 in 1 container because everything gets mixed up and soggy. Otherwise keep up the high quality Lula Bird! read more

I had the veggie terrain and my friend had half a chicken plate. The food was delicious and perfect. It didn't arrive hot at all but I think it's good because it means that WE got to warm it up at home instead of it arriving semi-hot and having to warm it up again (which could potentially over cook the food and garden the rice). Wanted to order three pieces of corn bread and I was quickly informed that they were only sold by 2s. Needless to say, I received four pieces which was equivalent to two pieces of cornbreads. I never leave bad reviews on restaurants, especially when I order delivery, but Lula Bird really ruined my night tonight and couldn't even call me to let me know. I ordered the Combo Meal at around 5:30. The order went in successfully and I sat around waiting for my food. Over an hour later, I got an email from Seamless saying that my order was cancelled because Lula Bird didnt have any delivery drivers. I get it, things happen, but how does it take over an hour to alert someone that they won't be able to deliver the food? That makes no sense to me. I tried calling the place and they didn't pick up. I'm happy to get some kind of explanation from them and change the review. I've had the food from here before and its actually pretty good, especially for the price, but if I dont know if the phone call from a random number will be a delivery guy or a notice that my order is cancelled, I dont know how I can order from here again. read more

We love Lula Bird! Having a Rotisserie spot within a block of my house is a little dangerous, especially since the food is amazingly delicious -- not just convenient and easy. I had a good feeling about this new addition since the owner Yosi runs the beloved Lula Bagel right next door, a place with easy affordable food, great music, friendly staff and a great overall vibe. The chicken has amazing flavor - great savory spicing with herbs and crispy skin. I LOVE the sauces, especially the tzatziki and the cilantro sauce. Soooo good! The curried cauliflower, roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts and stewed green beans are among my favorite sides. All are stand-outs on their own and compliment the chicken well. It's really nice to have so many vegetarian add - on options. As everyone here has said, the cornbread is... not cornbread. I don't know what it is, but it's too GOOD to be cornbread! It's awesome to get the whole chicken - we eat it as-is one night, and then use chicken in salad for lunches, add to soups and fried rice and anything else really. The portions are generous and we get at least 4 servings out of even a 1/2 chicken order, but usually more. Just had this as takeout last night - it's good chicken but after a 7 minute walk - the chicken got a bit cold- so no crispy skin. Bought some of their harissa sauce which helped give it some flavor otherwise a bit bland. All in all, would certainly go back and it's way better than Whole Foods chicken.
