I have a one bedroom apartment that I packed myself and just needed the man power to move into a truck I rented myself to drive from Fort Worth to Ocala, Florida. I scheduled for my move a couple weeks in advance and they had the availability I needed for a Monday morning with no problems. I was given a window of 8:30-9am for them to arrive, and the movers actually arrived a couple minutes early and was ready to start exactly at 8:30. I had a two man crew pack my 16ft truck very efficiently within about two hours. They were professional, wrapped all my furniture, had the appropriate tools to disassemble my bed, and prompt. I had a wonderful experience with this company and the end all price was almost exact for what they were able to quote me over the phone! I would definitely recommend these affordable movers to anyone in Fort Worth who needs moving labor. read more

We remodeled our home and it included swapping an upstairs office with a downstairs bedroom (plus some file cabinets, etc. from garage), so we called Luke's A+ Moving Services to do the heavy lifting. Adrian and Homer were awesome - they moved EVERYTHING in 90 minutes! I manage to scratch walls every time I move a piece of furniture, but these guys are pros and moved everything without a problem. UPDATE: Luke called me yesterday to explain his situation. Yes he really did have a medical emergency. He agreed to come out this morning. He was very friendly, reviewed what we had to move and wrote up a quote on the spot. He carries insurance on his moves above and beyond the $0.60 per pound that most companies have, which is a nice plus. Ultimately I won't be going with him because another moving company gave a more competitive rate. Most likely because they have an office in Houston so they can coordinate a move coming back too and save costs on their side. I would however recommend A Plus Moving and would likely have used them if I was moving locally here in Dallas. ------------------- I really wanted to like Luke's A Plus Moving, but they can't get their act together. I scheduled an in home estimate for a move from Dallas to the Houston area. They setup and then later confirmed a time for the in home estimate. The day they were scheduled to show up they called to reschedule. They claimed the weather slowed them down and they were unable to get to us. I'm not sure how the weather is involved in doing in home estimates, but okay. They rescheduled for a week later. Today they called saying the owner was on his way but would be running a few minutes late. Then 5 minutes later they called back saying he had a medical emergency at home he needed to attend to. And wanted to reschedule again for tomorrow. I realize stuff happens, but this is just silly. Unfortunately for Luke's A Plus Moving I can't afford to wait any longer. I'll be going with their competitor who got me an estimate the day after I contacted them. read more

I can't say enough good things about Luke's A Plus Moving. The apartment complex recommended a different company and gave me a discount off if I used them. I'm so glad I DIDN'T. The 3 men from Luke's arrived 15 minutes early. (YAY) They had me sign off on the start time then they got to work! There were NO hidden trip fees or misc. charges. At $99 an hour I was fearful the bill was going to be extremely high. These men were so efficient and had such a good process; I was moved from my house to a 3rd story apartment in 3.5 hours!!!! They took excellent care in covering and wrapping all the furniture, TV's and Glass. They put together all beds and moved furniture around for me. I hired Luke's because they had the highest number of reviews and an overall high approval rating. From start to finish I was impressed. Chris came out and did the assessment and estimate and was spot on. The movers showed up right on time to the minute and did an amazing job. Moving furniture in 100+ heat you would have thought they'd move slow but they didn't. Overall I was very impressed. I was extremely nervous about our move. Even though we were not moving far, we had a lot of stuff. It's mainly due to my stuff becoming combined with my husband's stuff when we got married. He refused to let go of his stuff, even though it's cheaper and basically worthless. That's why I didn't want to pay a ton of money to move it. I chose Luke's because of the rates and they didn't demand to know exact weight of all the items like some moving companies. I don't have time to figure out the weight of all the items. His free in-home consultation is what sealed the deal. Plus, some of the companies already sounded like they were planning on scamming me just from the phone call. Luke gave me clear information, it is unusual to have someone who is honest in a moving company. He kept his word and he was really careful with my stuff. I can't say the same for couple of his workers, but they were new. I noticed later that corner of one my furniture was chipped. Luke himself is an excellent mover, he doesn't waste time and he doesn't complain. I hate when movers complain as they move your stuff. That's why I'm paying you to move my stuff. If it was going to be just few items that were light as a feather then I could've moved them myself and I won't need to hire a mover. Anyway, like I said Luke doesn't complain and he is extremely professional. His regular crew is the same. I know people usually have bad experiences with movers because of all the lies and deception. Such great movers. We moved earlier this year and used a well known company who sent three men and it took them 5 hours to move our items. Our last move this October 2018 Luke's sent a two man team (Adam and Nick) and they moved the exact same items as the first movers and they only took 2 hours. I am a little behind in writing a review (I moved the first weekend of August...) but I rather this be posted late than never. I was so happy that Luke was able to accommodate my move since I lived in Plano/Frisco and his company was based out of Hurst/Euless/Bedford. The morning of my move, the moving company gave me a call to let me know they were en route and would be at my apartment within 30 minutes. They arrived on time and I had 3 guys for the move even though I only asked for 2. (I wasn't charged extra, either!) The movers were professional, super friendly, and incredibly efficient. They did not waste any time in getting started and were so pleasant to work with. Everything was wrapped/padded so it wouldn't get damaged and loaded/unloaded with care. When we were unloading at my new home, one of the movers was nice enough to install my washer/dryer so I wouldn't have to. Cost wise - Luke is one of the most affordable companies out in the DFW area. The Groupon saved me a decent amount of money and was definitely worth it. In addition, Luke's A+ Moving doesn't charge slam the customer with erroneous charges for travel, stairs, etc. They're honest, reliable, and I plan on using them again. Great job, guys! read more

I used Luke's to move from a third story apartment to a single story home and could not have been happier with their work. The three-man team that showed up early ready to work. They were efficient, professional, kind, friendly and worked their butts off! I've moved a lot in my lifetime and can be a little picky about how my belongings are handled but these guys did not give me any reason to be concerned. Every piece of furniture was wrapped really well before taken to the truck and all of the boxes were moved quickly and safely. Josh and Anthony showed up on time and were very polite and courteous during the entire move, which entailed four locations. They were careful with my stuff and wrapped all furniture before loading. Let me start by saying that this company came highly recommended by a friend who knew the owner and had used the company before. I scheduled my move several weeks in advance for 9am. The day before I expected a confirmation and no one called, so that evening I contacted them and was assured that at 9am the movers would be at my door. Well 930...10....I called the office and was told they decided to finish a job from the night before and would be a few hours late (note: they did not initiate any communication with me...this will become a pattern). Come noon I call again, they'll be there within an hour....at 130 I call....still no movers. They were almost SEVEN HOURS LATE. My move took until after 10pm. In the process my washer, door frame and floor at my new home were damaged, shelf brackets that had been removed from furniture were not attached to the furniture and I had to find and buy new ones to put my furniture back together. The washer bolts left on the washer and washer and dryer not hooked up as promised. Part 2: two months later I'm still working to get the floor repaired. They show up (late) the first day. It's a 2 day job since the floor has to dry before the washer and dryer can be put back. Not only do they not finish the floor on day one, they no show day two. Mind you, I've taken off work to accommodate them. I call them mid day to find out when exactly they are coming and I'm told to contact the office, they decided to move someone instead of finishing the job they started. My house is torn apart, there has been NO COMMUNICATION that wasn't initiated by me, and I'm now hiring outside contractors to finish the job. I'm stunned at the lack of communication, lack of professionalism, and lack of regard for customer service as their own description states they pride themselves on. Never ever again. 2ND UPDATE: OK so after convincing us it was all a big mistake and apologizing, a couple days later our bed collapsed. Taking it all apart we found that the second time Luke's (this time Luke himself) put our IKEA bed back together, there were still parts missing. The slats that hold the bed in place were put in improperly, causing them to rest on something else...anyway, parts of the bed are now bent and the wood side piece is damaged and we have not found the missing parts that are designed to prevent this. We had to go on vacation, and Luke said he'd get in touch to replace/repair and hasn't. Will not use these guys again. And frankly, I'm going to fix it my own damn self this time since they seem completely incapable. read more

I would never in a million years recommend these guys to my friends and family. I found this company via Yelp (as I find most things in my life) and Im very disappointed. My move was in August but I've been putting this review off due to a couple of issues with broken furniture that took a VERY long time to be repaired and returned. All in all- if you use these folks for a tiny move in DFW you might be fine. Do not use these guys long distances as you'll sooo regret your decision. Let's start from the beginning. I was moving from Fort Worth to Austin and negotiated an $1100 flat rate move. They were supposed to arrive at 7am. Movers are 45 minutes late which really irks me. Pack up fairly quickly and tell me they'll meet me in austin after a quick stop at a storage unit to pick up an extra bed and maybe ~10 boxes. Idk what these two did but it took them HOURS longer than it took me. Find out the stopped for a lengthy lunch and really just took their sweet ass time which then caused them to get stuck in wild traffic. Moving in and out of my new apartment was not the easiest job but I did not pay over a grand to listen to one complain about how hot they were. One of them moaned the whole time while his friend kept apologizing for his complaining. This one didn't bring even his own water! We bought the guys dinner to be nice but there was no excuse for how damn slow they were. I wish I was kidding when I tell you they didn't leave until 1AM. ONE IN THE MORNING. I moved one 955 square foot studio (one room!) into a 1200 square foot apartment. That is insanely unacceptable. Every box was labeled on all 4 sides which room it would go in. Not many rooms (garage, kitchen, living and bedroom) so thought this was self explanatory. Do you know how many garage boxes wound up in my room? Every single freaking box. How is that possible? Can these guys not read? It was written in extra fat sharpie on all sides! No excuses. Bathroom boxes in the kitchen, you get the idea. Such a mess. I am very petite and could not pick these up and move them after the fact. Then, cherry on top- they break an antique table I inherited from my great grandmother. Snapped the leg right off. They offered to fix it- awesome. Thanks. Do you know how many times I had to call Holly in the office and demand information about the table? I don't get it back for over 100 days. So unacceptable. (Granted they did bring it back to austin) Every person involved with this move dropped the ball. Never did I get a call from Luke apologizing for this mess and never will I recommend these folks to you lovely people of Yelp. Stay away!!! read more

I have to say they were very slow though- I've moved 8 times in the last 3 years so I know how long it should take to move me in and out hands down. Cost me ~ $100 more than usual, and that stings. Let me first say that this is the 2nd time I've used Luke's to move, and the first time was decent. Both times, the movers did a good job of packing and protecting the items being moved and were careful with everything. On my latest move (1/24/15), the movers showed up 2 hours late - and this after everything was confirmed the day before. This created problems with the logistics of the move, as we had a uhaul waiting to do a subsequent move of some of the items; due to being late, we incurred an extra day of rental charges. In addition to being late, the movers were not able to load everything into the truck. When they first got to my house, we did a walk-through and I explained that I needed them to make sure that all of the large items were packed as I did not have the means to move the larger items. What did they do? They packed all the boxes first, and then brought in the larger items...and yes, they did not have room for all of the larger items. So now I have to find a way to move the larger items; and it will probably require 3 round trips to get everything. Oh by the way, the truck they brought had a fairly large oil leak - luckily they didn't park where I had to clean it up. The owner was supposed to call me on the day we moved (the 24th), and didn't; called again today (the 26th) and still haven't heard back from him. Needless to say, I am disappointed in their service. Not sure that I would use them again. read more

I chose Luke's A Plus Moving because of the excellent reviews. Well, now I know there is no way all of them are real. I was never called to confirm the appointment. In fact, they showed up 30 minutes late and I had to call to see that they were still coming. They didn't bring tools so I had to search my boxes to find something to help them dismantle my bed. I was quoted around 2 hours to move my stuff (I had a one bedroom apt) and it really took 3.5 hours. There are a lot more things I could say about the experience but they know where I live so I'm afraid to continue ranting. read more

I cannot recommend this moving company to anybody. They first showed up 35 minutes late. Our move took entirely too long and in the process they broke a piece of glass for our dining room table and cracked it as well. It has taken us nearly three weeks to get somebody to come and look at the table to see if it can be repaired. After that it took another month to actually get it fixed. We have called about the glass replacement and keep getting the run around and are told we will be called back and never receive a call. Horrible customer service. Two of three movers that were sent were very courteous and worked very hard. We were very disappointed that the third person was not as courteous as the others and spent 10 minutes trying to get our painter to try to hire him and kept saying how he needed to get another job. read more

I was unable to get another Moving service so I contacted Luke's. I got lucky and found out that due to the wet weather there were lots of cancellations. I was able to move the same day. Chris and Mike gave me a call heads up that they were 24 mins away. They got started right away after I initialled a form. They were able to securely wrap and load my one bedroom apt (less than 700 sq ft) in 50 mins. Once at the destination they unloaded all my belongings to my preference in under an hour. The whole move took less than three hours including driving time. They charge a flat rate $105/hr for 2 movers with a two hour minimum. I was not charged extra for the long distance ( less than 40 miles) either. Overall I'm very satisfied with Luke's A+ Moving Services and would do business with again in the future (5% discount for using their service again). read more

Holly was great to work with for planning and understanding the move process, and the movers were a team even advising us on one item that they didn't think would make the move. I absolutely recommend these guys! We had a move from a house in Coppell, where we had to split and take half to a home in Garland, then half to Euless. It was the second move of the day for this three man team and it was hot and humid outside. These guys were great! They had everything packed and loaded as quick as they possibly could. The Garland home was a tight fit on some larger items getting them into the bedrooms, and these guys just adjusted and muscled through. The move to Euless after that, I know these guys had to be exhausted, and I was moving into an upstairs apartment, and I had a LOT of stuff, but they muscled through that as fast as they could as well, and ended around 10 pm. I know they had a really long and hard day, but were completely friendly and professional with no complaints the whole time. We'll definitely use them again! read more

They did a good job on our stuff, but they were intentionally slow loading. It took them 3 hours loading for a small amount of stuff. Caught them goofing around. I would not hire this company because they quote you a price per hour, and then try and get as many hours as possible. Over $700 for a small 2 BDR apartment? Get serious! Try someone else. read more

We had moved down from the Northeast recently and had rented an apartment temporarily. After a few months we finally found a house to buy, and after closing we needed movers. Luke's was referred to me by a friend who highly recommended them. I called and spoke to Chris and he was courteous and easy to talk to. We discussed what was being moved and how long it would take. We reserved the day and time and he quoted me the price, which was hourly. I asked for two, two man teams so we could get the move done quicker. He said he would send two trucks. On the Friday before the move, they called and confirmed the time and address. On the day of the move, the driver called me 30 minutes in advance to confirm location and gave me an ETA. Once they arrived, they all came professionally dressed, in Luke's moving trucks. They were only able to bring in three movers, rather than the 4 that was promised, and adjusted the hourly rate appropriately. They were able to move us across town without difficulty. Everyone was very friendly, easy to talk to, and we were able to get everything moved and placed into the appropriate rooms without difficulty. Anthony appeared to be in charge of this crew, and he did a great job. He was very professional, but friendly. We talked about his 5 week old daughter, and my 20 month old son. Luke's was very professional, prompt, and courteous. The crew we had was excellent, and I will recommend them to friends and family. read more

We found out last minute our house was closing and we had 3 days to get out. We called Luke's and they were able to get us scheduled on the day and time we needed. Fantastic customer service on the phone. Matt showed up early, had all the dolly's, blankets and everything else needed for our move. They busted their a**es moving all our stuff. They never stopped. They dropped off at 2 locations and took less time than originally quoted. Nothing was broke and they managed to put everything into our storage unit, neatly packed to the ceiling!
