UPDATE: A staff member scheduled a phone call with owner Dominick (Dominic) to call me this morning. We spoke at length. My intention was always to be heard, to receive an apology, and for this company to improve systems so this did not ever happen to another mom or college student young woman. Dominick said he had called from different numbers without leaving a message. I have scammers who regularly call my number, so I have many hang-up calls that did not leave a voicemail. If there isn't a voicemail, it looks like scam calls with the hang-ups. Dominick did listen. He did apologize. And it sounds like he understood the systemic issues that need to be addressed internally to avoid a situation like this in the future. I have changed my rating from ONE STAR to TWO STARS because the actual moving experience with Jason was one of the very worst customer experiences I have ever had with any service provider ever. And that is still true. Dominick did sound like he was already making some internal systems changes to address the many issues that went wrong. I hope that he continues to improve this business. If a customer wants to give this moving company a chance, then I would suggest asking for Dominick if the moving experience starts to go bad in real time. ORIGINAL: This is a caution about using a Luke's Moving Service. The first time I used them, I had a positive experience. In April, the first crew met me in Aledo to pick up a couch and console I bought for my college student. Tyler and Anthony moved the couch to a storage unit in FTW. The guys were helpful and friendly. My daughter and future housemates continued to buy and add furniture to their McCart storage unit. At the end of June, we were moving all this furniture from the storage unit into the rental house near TCU campus. Jason, the crew leader, was horribly rude and unprofessional to me and my daughter. He was angry and took that anger out on my daughter and me for hours. He did not listen and even started to drive to Aledo and arrived at the rental house 45 minutes later. The office must have given him the address from the couch pickup. I told him the rental house address and described exactly where it was near TCU. His failure to listen and his lashing out happened again and again. I am not going to list every instance where he was angry, but it never stopped. For the record, it is currently the end of July 2025. I have tried since BEFORE July 4th to have the owner Dominic (posing as Luke) call me back. He called once in June and left a message. I called back immediately. Since then, he has never returned my repeated calls despite Holly's assurances be would call me back. I have also asked Holly to send me a revised invoice, which she has not done. He commented immediately when I wrote a review in Yelp, but he still didn't call after he said he would in the response. Holly is the office receptionist, and her husband Jason was the crew leader. He treated me so badly throughout the move that his crew member Nolan made a point of coming back into the house by himself afterwards and apologizing for his boss's behavior. Holly continues to tell me owner Dominic will call me, but that hasn't happened. All I wanted to do was tell Dominic about what happened. I hired professional movers to act like professionals. I would not want anyone--especially women and female college students--to be treated the way I was treated. I also posted this in the TCU Parents' Facebook group with 11K members. Buyers beware! The owner has managed to respond here and on Yelp and on social media several times and still hasn't found time to call me back. He called once when I first contacted them. Beware! Company and Owner have no ethics! His driver drove over my brick mailbox, they said it would be fixed, then refused. Sarah said I did not purchase "extra" insurance (really, I have to buy insurance if you wreck something? not!). Their resolution was to send over a worker to piece it back together, which did not bring it back to where it was, so I declined after seeing the botch job he was doing. Owner Luke is rude. I used this company on recommendation from a friend who had used them 3 times previously. They were friendly, professional hard working and went above and beyond. I in turn recommended them to friends who were moving and they were equally impressed too. I have also recommended to another friend who is moving in October. It was a horrible experience. They movers left a tons of things in our old house. By 6:00pm they were ready to pack and lease despite of all of things pending to be put back together. They took off our refrigerator doors to move it in the house but failed to put back correctly resulting in water from the ice machine spraying on our hardwood floors and causing a lot of damage. I tried calling them and asking for a resolution but the guy on the line literally yelled at me and started blaming us for not turning off the water at the back ( which wasn't an issue). I will never recommend hiring them. They damaged a tons of things and asked us to email the pictures and said that their claims department will get back to us in a month. Over 10 days yet no response despite the seriousness of the situation. Two days after the move when we went back to our old house to check out the stuff it was wreaking as one of the movers decided to take a dump and didn't flush the toilet. I've used these guys about 8-9 times, each time in the hottest months of Texas summer. They're on time, respectful and hard working. Often times then not, I am dealing with at-least one person that has been apart of the same crew for years. Melissa, who coordinates the moves is an actual angel who really cares for the clients. I recommend Luke's to all of my friends. Sure, there might be a day you hire Luke's and there's a bad apple of the bunch but Luke's always makes it right. One of the most professional, efficient and awesome moving/relocation companies we have ever worked with. Adam and Q arrived, early, and got to work after they did walk through and assessment of the house. Once they began unloading we realized that these guys are very efficient, very careful and always smiling and great energy. We finished in a very fast 3 hours and they even assembled several pieces of furniture for our kids, made adjustments that wife requested and much more. We truly couldn't have asked for nicer, more professional and efficient movers. I am only writing this review on customer service, because I've had so many issues with my new apartment that I haven't even been able to move in yet. First, the price they quoted me was the cheapest in the area- and I called several other moving companies. Other companies tried to tell me I needed a minimum of 3 hours and didn't bother asking me how much stuff I have. I moved here from the North East and have not acquired that much stuff from living in my last apt, so I only wanted 2 hours. Holly (who helped me with this situation) quoted me for 2 hours, with the truck, gas etc and wrapping items if necessary for about 200$. She even honored the Yelp discount I mentioned even though my situation didn't meet the requirements. So I had a date set to move and 2 days before I was supposed to move my new apt calls and says they have to fix the subflooring in the unit and I wont be able to move in right away. I called Luke's (I will mention if Luke answers the phone he sounds less than thrilled to help and immediately refers to Holly) she was very understanding about it, I told her I would call and reshedule when I had another date. I pick another move in date, but this time the day of moving, I go to see my apt for the first time (they never offered me to see it before) and there was even more problems. Move is postponed again for a later date still yet to be determined. I called Lukes that night at 9pm telling them I had to cancel again and once again she was very understanding. Even if she was annoyed about me canceling twice with short notice she did not take it out on me which I appreciate. They didn't even charge for either cancelations. As of right now still no clue when I'm moving in or to where, waiting to hear back from the complex. But I am satisified with Luke's customer service and will be considering and recomming them in the future. read more

I scheduled my move over a month in advance with the owner. On the scheduled move day, after no one appeared to be coming, I called and left a message. They called back to say they don't work on Memorial Day. That's fine, but I'm pretty sure it was Memorial Day when I scheduled. They promised to get someone there the next morning at whatever time I wanted. I requested 8:00 am. They got there around 9:50. The guys were great and worked very hard, but the service I received from the office was sub-par, to say the least. No one offered any kind of discount for the inconvenience they caused. I had to take off a day on finals week to accommodate them! I won't be using them again. It's been a few months since posting my first review. After having my pod unpacked by competent movers, I found that my expensive bedroom furniture had sustained irreparable damage due to not being wrapped with blankets. After terrible service from another moving company that was totally incompetent, we called Luke's to complete the job. They arrived on time had everything written down, able to take apart and move the two large entertainment centers, one of the units had multiple glass shelves, wrapped the shelves, move the two separate entertainment units, delivery to new location (20 minutes away), and reassembled, in 3 hours. This was not a whole house, it was downsizing, but I wished we had called them first and not had wasted a whole day with the other sad excuse for a moving company.? read more

Contact me privately through Yelp for a copy of the message that I sent them for my claim, which is in progress. It is a long list of complaints about the carelessness and rudeness of some of the moving crew. If they resolve it in an acceptable manner, I will update to 3-5 stars, based on the end result. ---------------- Update 7/10/17: & more added on 7/19/17 after no return call by their office when I left a message with a staff member the afternoon of 7/10 to give them a chance to deal with these things first, before needing to add them to the review. I had hoped to get a good response for at least telling me when they would repair the furniture. The problems are in the process of being corrected. I'm adding one more star (just bumped it back down to one star after not getting a return call for 9 days and discovering problems left by the second crew), and will change it to 3-5 stars after it all has been completed, depending upon how thoroughly and kindly the major remaining flaws are remedied. (Nearly every move has a little minor damage, so we expected that--just not the level of carelessness and disrespect that caused some problems with this move.) Alyssa in their main office has been very, very nice about arranging to correct the problems caused by the original moving crew. She was upset that a few of their workers had handled things badly. That's a sign of good management. She was not at all defensive, and did not try to pass it off with excuses. The staff member who had booked the move and had behaved inappropriately had already been let go. A couple of workers just left from re-doing a large portion of the move to put furniture and heavy boxes into their proper rooms, and stacking a large amount of boxes that we're storing, which the first crew had left very haphazardly. Now it's good. (Good--not great.) This crew was careful and mostly respectful. (The original crew was a mixture of good and bad--don't get me wrong, they weren't a total nightmare, but not nearly up to Luke's standards, apparently.) WITH THE EXCEPTION of REFUSING to even look at the list of instructions I had typed out, and repeatedly asked them to READ when they asked questions that were clearly covered. They DIDN'T EVEN PRETEND TO LOOK AT THEM--even ONCE! One is a collge student, so it's not a literacy issue. Afterwards, I found some very lazy things they did which were problematic, such as leaving 12" of space between the wall and file cabinets that they were asked to put against the wall (with boxes stacked on top, which was what we wanted, but this makes it difficult to simply push them against the wall ourselves), and blocking a doorway instead of carrying things further into that room. A large chunk of wood that had been broken off of an armoire was found inside of it, which means that a worker knew that they had broken it off but didn't mention it to me. We still need for some furniture to be repaired, and a couple of things to be replaced. I'll update my review after that has been completed. -------------------------- read more

The two movers arrived on time wreaking of cigarette smoke, without any tools (they were aware they would have to be breaking down/building furniture), and only one dolly cart. Not only did the lack of tools and carts slow them down tremendously on my dime, they also broke my television. The two men told me the company would replace it at no cost to me the following work day. I tipped the men generously as I know they worked hard and they promised me a repaired TV. A few days later and no call from the company as promised, I called Luke's Moving only to be told it would not be replaced. Luke's Moving gave me more money then the were "legally obligated" to, but it was less than what I tipped the men. I absolutely would not recommend Luke's Moving to anyone and will not be using them on any future moves. Update: I was contacted by Luke's Moving who told me: 1. those men did not say those things (although they did in front of two other people) 2. I ruined two families, and 3. I should not have trusted the movers because they are paid $15-25 an hour, and why would I trust that? - This response was extremely unprofessional, and I stick by my statement that I do NOT recommend this company. read more

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. My husband contracted Luke's to move a jukebox upstairs to the game room. He was honest about weight and dimensions, and Luke's said they are accustomed to these types of moving needs. Well, they were not. First of all, for those that are not aware, the moving business is awash with fraudulent providers. You MUST do your research before selecting a mover or you run a very high risk of being ripped off. Based on a recommendation and reviews on Angie's list, I called Luke and met him to review my move and receive a proposal. It is great to see a hardworking entrepreneur like Luke succeed. He is professional, very honest, and a great guy to talk football with! On moving day, his crew (Chris, Justin, Scott, Javier, and Dean) showed up on time, in uniform, with two clean trucks. Everyone was very polite and went out of their way to be helpful. Knowing that they were "on the clock", they asked before taking a 5 minute break and hustled almost non-stop for ten hours. These guys were awesome and took great care of our things and our home. There were only a few "oops" (stained carpet, a chipped wall, and a scraped wood floor) but this is minor given the size of this move. Luke's proposal guaranteed not to charge me for more than nine hours. Even though the job took ten hours, I was only charged the agreed price. I highly recommend Luke's to anyone looking for moving services. These guys are the best in the business! read more

I was really excited for this move but was disappointed in our experience. We had a one bed room apartment with an extra bed that needed moved. Pre-move, my boyfriend and I boxed up everything and broke down both beds. Everything was ready, stacked and organized to be put in the truck. 2 guys showed up on time (yay!) but took their sweet 'ol time. What should have been a 3 hour move MAX was 4.5 hours and cost us $427.00!!!! I could have even been ok with 4 hours, but the crew took 2 fifteen minute + smoke and Gatorade breaks. I know you're working hard, but when I'm paying 95$/hour, you better hustle! My dresser was also chipped on the corner. SO, when hour 3 was creeping in and a lot still needed to be done, my boyfriend and I started to move stuff for them! And then we had to leave at least 4 car loads of stuff, two patio tables and all our Christmas stuff at our old apartment because we simply could not afford a 5-6+ hour move--which is what it was turning into. So, the movers did not move us completely like we had wanted. I'd love to be refunded the 45 minutes that were dragged on and used for breaks that were wasted on cigarette breaks and for the dresser, but i'm unsure if that'll happen. One of the guys just stood around while one rearranged the truck...move SOMETHING? Moving is expensive as it is...so this was a hit to our budget and I'm pretty upset about it. read more

Luke and his crew provided the best moving experience I have ever had, and that's no small praise, because I've hired crews to help move five times in as many years. Luke's guys worked together expertly and as impressive as their efficiency were their attitudes toward one another; even their conversations and interplay were pleasant, mutually encouraging, and refreshingly clean. They were nothing but gentlemen toward one another throughout more than 10-hours in 100+ degree heat. The guys acted like they had a stake in the company, not like employees. I was also impressed by the branding on shirts and hats, and even more on trucks that are quite distinctive and unforgettable. Even the furniture pads were stenciled with the company name and phone number! Finally, but certainly not least importantly, Luke surveyed our home quickly, with a clearly experienced eye, and correctly estimated what we would need for a successful move within an hour of the actual time it took! Moreover, the rate was nearly identical to what we have paid others for far less service that never included the generous padding, shrink-wrapping, and taping that the crew considered to be standard protocol. Moving is considered to be among top five most stressful experiences, but Luke and his company have broken that pattern in our lives. We pray that the Lord will bless them abundantly and increase their business greatly, because they honor His name with excellence in every aspect of their service. read more

I will admit it--I am a packrat. I LOVE stuff! I also have extreme OCD, but when it comes to moving time, it's like I just throw my hands in the air and hope someone else takes care of everything for me. I have moved MANY times :( It's stressful..It's annoying..it's exciting...it's a LOT to deal with. This time around, I totally procrastinated in setting up movers. Trusty YELP provided me with some good reviews, and I'm so glad that I went with Luke and his crew. These guys were so nice! They helped finish packing up my "scatter", they wrapped the corners of my furniture to help keep it safe, and they were able to fit me in on a Sunday(when I called the Thursday before). Luke and his guys were the perfect mix of friendly and business--really down to earth, and totally got down to business. I have a lot of quirky painted and eclectic furniture that they easily and efficiently moved from a 4th floor apartment to the 2nd story of a house. I would 100% use this company again, and I already have a friend who'll be using them in a couple of months. They also told me that they are available for in-house work, as well. I would give this moving company 0 stars if possible...this is by far the WORST moving experience I have ever had! I have moved several times over the past 6 years and used numerous moving companies-never have I seen such carelessness and unprofessionalism! All of my furniture that was moved was purchased from 1.5 years ago, brand new, from a reputable furniture store in Dallas. I just moved to this building 5 months ago and another moving company moved all of my things safe and sound-no damage. 1. I moved from one apartment to another within the same complex and was charged for 5 HOURS of move time! There is no way that it should have taken 5 hours and I am shocked at how slow the movers moved, yet they STILL managed to damage several items. 2. I have very nice furniture that was quite expensive, so I asked that it be padded AND shrink wrapped. I watched one of the movers shrink wrap everything while the other began to move things out of the apartment. 2 hours later there were still things being shrink wrapped and moved out. When they finally got everything wrapped and out of my apartment, I went downstairs thinking they had already put everything on the truck and were ready to be shown to the next building...NO. after TWO hours all they had done was bring EVERYTHING in my apartment to the first floor elevator. I then stood at the elevator and watched them load everything on to the truck in less than 30 minutes... 3. I was told on several occasions by both movers that the unload would only take 30-45 minutes. It took them 3 hours to unload everything off of the truck. 4. One of the legs to my dresser was completely torn off; there is a hole in the bottom of the dresser! They did not tell me that there was a hole there, instead I seen that one of the legs looked crooked and when I went to fix it, it was already completely detached and just leaning. I asked the mover who was re-attaching the dresser mirror why he hadn't said anything to which he replied he did not know that it was broken. The lead driver then insisted upon using GORILLA GLUE to glue the piece that was originally stapled and screwed, back together. After I told him multiples times that it would not work, be attempted to "fix" the leg, by pushing (rather than pulling) one of the loose staples through the other side of the dresser, making ANOTHER hole in the bottom! Needless to say, he was not able to fix it. 5. My large leather sofa was RUINED! the front and back corners of the couch have absolutely no leather on them anymore, as a result of being drug across the floor in my apartment building. The concrete is a rusk colored red, and the red on the corner of my couch resembles it exactly. There are also several holes and tears around the couch that were obviously NOT there in the first place. I do not understand how a couch that was shrink wrapped could have sustained so much damage, but it is true. I also do not understand why the movers did not bring the obvious issue to my attention. 6. When I contacted Luke's A-Plus Moving regarding my dresser, the owners father was very rude and short with me, and seemed much more concerned with getting paid than providing quality customer service. He consistently said things like "you need to pay those guys" and "don't worry about your dresser, you can send it back with us and we will fix it...just make sure you pay!'. Never once did I say that I was not going to pay, although they should have moved me for free given all of the issues that I had. 7. I chose Luke's A-Plus moving due to the reviews on Yelp AND because they had a coupon special. I called prior to purchasing the coupon and the associate did not tell me that only one coupon could be used per customer, nor was that written anywhere on the coupon until AFTER you buy it. Since a friend already had one, and I purchased another, I confirmed that I had two and was never told it was a problem UNTIL the day of the move. The owner's father did allow me to use both coupons, but only because the person who scheduled the move did not give me the full and correct information. This made move-day that much more stressful. 8. Finally, the movers were unprofessional. Everyone wants to feel like a valued customer. In the moving industry, it is not enough to move someone's home, you must also make them feel that their belongings are safe and secure with your company. I never felt that with Luke's A-Plus Moving. When the movers arrived, they were not in a Luke's A-Plus Moving truck like the one that is advertised on their website. Instead, they were in a Budget moving truck-a truck that I could have rented myself for a lot cheaper! The movers also took candy from my leasing office and left the wrappers ALL OVER the hallway in a path leading right up to my door and did not even bother to pick them up when they left. Unprofessional, rude, careless. I have filed an insurance claim, but no follow-up as of yet...Cooperation on Luke's end has been dismal. read more

My husband and I had a great experience with Luke's movers service. They showed up promptly when they said they would and had all of our furniture in and out of our apartments within 2 hours. The three movers (Josh, Dennis, & Calvin) were really nice and fun to be around. They wrapped our furniture and were careful with our washer/dryer. The two things that happened that weren't so positive were relatively minor, but prevented me from giving a 5-star review. First, as this is Texas in late May, the guys got understandably sweaty and there were some sweat marks on our furniture that didn't get wiped up. Second, one part of our metal bed frame was left behind in the truck. We didn't realize it until 90 minutes after the movers had left so I called them and it was delivered within 2 hours. It was about 2 feet long and relatively skinny, so I could see how it would get missed in a truck, but still an unfortunate occurrence. So overall, it was a good and positive experience. Jason and Adam were very efficient in moving our things - they completed a 2 hour move in an hour and 15 mins. They were very friendly and careful in moving our valuable things. Luke's price for the services offered is very nominal. Luke' Moving Services was very punctual - they came an hour earlier than the scheduled time (of course, they called us and got our consent for an earlier move) - and polite. 10 hours to move at $185/hr for two trucks and four men. Movers were really strange, two experienced and two not so much. For whatever reason they decided they wouldn't need to utilize the second truck so I got a total of $35 off my entire bill, except for the fact that they decided to return the truck to their office during my move and tried to convince me that it was "on the way". NO it was not. They put three holes in my wall. THREE HOLES. They had to send a guy to fix it, which he did but you know we all have hours to waste. It's not like they pay you $185/hr to sit there while he stands with a blow dryer to the wall trying to expedite the process. I would not recommend them to my friends or family. read more

Would Never recommend!!!! Spoke with Holly on 02/03. Set my reservation for sat 02/27 from 8-9 am. Received confirmation email. 02/27 we were ready to go, no show, called and spoke with Melissa, said could not find my reservation,. Would call right back, called back advised needed to move today, said would call me right back.....no call. Called several times, got voice mail. Called back at 2:15. Melissa states she thought someone called me back. I advised her, no you were suppose to call back. Had to go get a UHaul,. Bad business practice. Way to go Luke's Moving Service. No one likes moving, but finding helpful movers that go out of the way to make the move less stressful, at least makes the process bearable. Ours was a long distance move and Luke's recommended 2 trucks and 4 movers (Myron, Quinton, Morgan, and David... you guys ROCK! Kinda like Elvis!) The morning of the move I received a call letting me know they were on the way. The moving teams came in and got right to work. When everything was loaded, we did a walk through the house and then hit the road. On the other end, the unloading went just as smoothly as the loading. Luke's price was significantly lower than other estimates that I received, but the service far exceeded my expectations. Local move from house in NRH to Keller. 3 men (Jason, Matt, Morgan) with a 24ft truck. Really good guys. Price was reasonable. The guys were well prepared with wrapping, padding and all the Dolly's, etc. Helped us make a pit stop at my son's school to donate our basketball hoop. Even with rain, things came in the house in good shape and they were careful. Put felt bottoms on many of our wood pieces so we wouldn't scratch the floors. Worked straight through lunch and cleaned up on the way out the door. Definitely using this company again. read more
