Their team installed a water pressure regulator, replaced two outdoor spigots, converted our piping from galvanized to copper, replaced five sprinkler valves, and replaced and rerouted our water shutoff valves for both the house and the sprinkler system. Luke is great! He came out Christmas Eve when company clogged the toilet. He's done major front yard pipe repairs for us as well, and returned the lawn to as good a condition as possible. I used Luke Bates Plumbing in the past for a drip in my shower. The service was good but he was extremely pricey. I guess you get what you pay for, right? Well I believe in quality over quantity and figured I would give him another try. During my master bathroom remodel, I wanted the shower valve replaced to something more modern. I called Luke Bates Plumbing up on the phone and spoke to him directly. I told him the wall is COMPLETELY opened up due to the remodel so any soldering would be a piece of cake. I asked what a job like this would cost and he told me that he "would have to look at it". Fair enough. On the day that he arrived, he looked at the job, and told be $375. OH MY GOD. Literally to solder 3 lines with the wall opened up. Not even a half hours worth of work. Now i'm all for a business charging their premiums making a profit but come on. even my drywall guy was sticker shocked. Mr. Bates said to me that if he had to open up the wall he would charge $600. While he might do good work, his price does not do him justice and this consumer will be looking elsewhere because plumbers are a dime a dozen. There is a reason the plumbing industry invented shark fittings. read more
