Having lived close to the Mexican border in every border state and having traveled extensively in…read moreMexico, I can assure you there is nothing authentic about this slop. The menus were tattered and many dishes reeked of "Mexican " food made for tourists. I asked lots of questions and had to switch to Spanish because the servers were not very conversant in English. All of their answers were vague. Finally, I settled on the mole enchiladas and a friend got a burrito. Let me tell you. That sauce is not mole, and the sauce for the burrito appears to have come from a can. For the high prices, there was not even the usual half-hearted sad sack plop of rice and beans to accompany the dishes. Then there was the service which was grudging and sullen. The place was clean, but smacked of a tourist's idea of what a Mexican restaurant interior should look like. The menu claims that they are the home of a "two draft beers for the price of one" deal. It's not a deal. It's the same price for the two as it is for a large glass. That's a sneaky gyp. The owners claim on the menu to be from Mexico serving authentic food. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. There is much better Mexican food in Tallahassee than this rot. The only saving grace was the flan which was actually pretty good.

Located at the corner of Thomasville Rd and East 7th Avenue at the convenience store near Midtown Caboose. We stopped by for a quick afternoon snack, and our tacos were absolutely stacked! We ordered one taco each, and they were loaded all the way up! The service was top notch and they offer cute little outdoor shaded picnic tables so you can save your vehicle upholstery from wearing your meal. Be sure to get them "con todo" with cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, street corn, and guacamole salsa. These tacos were a perfect balance of spicy heat and cool freshness. They make everything by scratch daily. ‼‼Holy Frijoles‼‼ it was definitely another praiseworthy food experience! Come Back Tacos... can I get an Amen?

Ordering is done through a tablet, which means simple customizations aren't an option. My friend wanted a cheese quesadilla, but the system forced us to order it with meat at the same price point, which was disappointing. The food took at least 30 minutes to come out, and when it did, my chicken tacos were overly salty and drenched in liquid/grease, making the flour tortilla soggy. My taco meal came with chips and salsa but the salsa appeared to be premade from a jar like Tostitos Chunky Salsa. While I'm glad I gave it a try and respect the effort, the inability to modify orders and the extended wait time make it hard to justify a return visit, especially if you're on lunchtime and have a time constraint.
