There's street parking but watch out for the fly balls. Some trees for shades. Dirty and nasty bathrooms. The fields are pretty much dirty fields. :( Luckily there's a YMCA next door which brightens up Maywood Park a bit. Not such a good park. Neighbor's sketchy as well.

They offer many activities for all ages, they have a gym available for the community, and they have a head start for children ages 3-5 with a capacity of 20 children. The reason why I come here is to enjoy some alone time. In the mornings you will see people walking/jogging around the park. In the afternoons you'll have kids with their parents in the playground and sometimes in the evenings you'll see some softball games.

It has a dirt track and a bunch of exercise equipment along the track. The grass was green and they have public restrooms. They also have a small patio area. They have a small area you can grill some food and a couple of picnic tables. They also have a kiddo area to play. We planted 31 trees in the park. We got a quick training and then went out to do the digging and planting. It was a good experience and I'm happy the people of Huntington Park will be able to enjoy the new trees in their park.

My wife's phone was dying and needed to send out an important email and some texts. She found an outlet somewhere inside by the office and restrooms and was confronted by one of the workers and said that she wasn't allowed to charge her phone. Some words were exchanged and they even threatened to call the cops. ALL OVER CHARGING A PHONE! They were even rude to our neighbors who were throwing the party at this dump. Very unprofessional! DO NOT.. I REPEAT.. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR A PARTY! It may look nice and appealing but the workers here treated everyone like crap and don't give a damn about anyone or their feelings. Management needs to do something about hiring ignorant and incompetent people to their staff. DO BETTER!!

My entire month of July was spent here with my community, and I loved every single minute of it.The concerts start at 7:00 p.m., but I was always the first one there since I live the closest. I'd show up with my folding chairs, claim a big spot, spread out blankets, and save plenty of room for everyone. Then I'd wait for my friends to arrive. You know the evening is officially about to begin when they play Downey's official city song! I had no idea Downey even had a song, but it's absolutely adorable and always puts everyone in a great mood.Our final concert was extra special--we had a grand total of 22 people at our little gathering! Every week turned into a giant community potluck with everyone bringing something delicious to share. One weekend my friends even surprised me with a birthday party, complete with a decorated table and cake. It made me feel so loved, and it's a memory I'll treasure forever.There's something so peaceful about sitting on a blanket, listening to live music, chatting with friends, and watching the sun slowly set over the park. It's a reminder that some of the best nights don't have to be expensive--they just need good people and good music.The concession stand offered the basics--hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, pie, and drinks. I do wish there were a few more food options, but maybe that's something they can expand on next year. Before the concerts, there were booths from local businesses like Lazy Dog, the Downey Theatre, dental offices, and other community organizations offering fun giveaways, games, and raffle prizes. We never won the raffle tree, but we sure had fun trying every week!One of my favorite parts was running into so many familiar faces. It truly felt like the entire community came together to enjoy summer evenings at the park.The only downside? July is over way too fast! I wish the concert series lasted longer because one month just isn't enough.Thank you to everyone who makes these concerts happen each year. Until next summer...

Watch for the ducks, geese, turtles and fish just be sure if you hang out with the birds you have shoes that wash off easily. Bunnies are often seen in the shrubs, darling and so fun to spot. They recently gutted this entire park so everything is new. Bring lunch and use one of the picnic tables or find a tree to sit under. This is a great park with a bathroom near the playground, swing in and check it out. The gorgeous flora alone is worth the visit.
