Staff was friendly enough but I will say that the room was a bit lacking. For $450 a night I would've expected something more but I think the minimalist look is the next big thing. Not for me. The first room we got smelled a lot like dog. Granted they are pet friendly but it just didn't smell right. The next room we got was better. Slightly better decor as well. The toilet wasn't flushing though. There is not really a view unless you face the pool. I did enjoy the late 12pm check out and the shower was good. However they have a clear glass pane to the bedroom with no option to pull down so the person you travel with will ultimately see everything. Not the biggest deal if you're a couple but if you're with shyer friends or others it may be unappealing. They only have king size bed and bunk bed rooms as options so just a heads up.

I was contacted to remove my review because they have new owners and are different. Why would I…read moreremove my review and it's completely true? The storage facility did nothing and I had to throw away NEW furniture because it reeked of rat urine and feces. I had to spend a whole day in a mask cleaning up and throwing away MY belongings because of their inability to adequately explain they were rat infested and that there was separate insurance needed WHEN I ASKED. At the time I already had a lung infection, and I was bawling because I'd just moved to Austin and had no help. If they had worked with me then, MAYBE I wouldn't have left it in the first place. Run, do not walk, from this place. I rented at this storage facility as I needed what I thought would be reliable storage for two suitcases, a bedframe, two large plastic tubs, one with clothes and one with dishes, four pieces of artwork, a box that had some candles, a coin collection that belonged to my dad (RIP) as well as his cane, a dog carrier with pillow and several items that were inedible and not food. Came back twice after moving into the locker in the months that I was there. Last time before starting to move items out was because even though I told them I wanted the charges automatically charged as I was moving between Chicago and Austin, I received a nasty letter saying my bill hadn't been paid. I paid the bill, got access to my locker and made preparations to move out in the middle of December. Came back on moving day to discover my locker had been decimated by rats, their hair, urine and feces were everywhere. Due to a lung infection I had to get a mask to even move things or start to sort through them to figure out what to trash and what to keep. Mind you, I'd relocated to austin from Chicago. Didn't know a soul. Once the company did know about the rats, they put a red locker on my locker so I could not take pics. I was able to get them to get it off the next day, and after tossing out the bed frame which had been marked by urine, feces and holes, the attached are what I saw. Up to you to do with what you will. Ps- rats and vermin on storage lockers are not a part of standard coverage by rental insurance, even if they tell you otherwise as insurance companies expect storage facilities to have pest control. It is an additional, and costly, addendum. I learned that the hard way. Also learned they are not legally regulated by the state of Texas.

We had the pleasure of staying here for Labor Day weekend…read more Upon check-in we ran into Jonathan who was so sweet & helpful. He helped up grab our key and escorted us to the room. He gave us city tips & info & we simply adored him! Thanks Jonathan! Speaking of the room...GORGEOUS!!! The layout, decor and amenities were 5 stars equipped with coffee, creamer, hot sauces, plates, utensils, everything that you could imagine. The grounds are superbly clean and well maintained, no litter, trash or debris in sight! Everything from the courtyard to the elevator, hallways and lobby area. The location is perfect on 6th surrounded by food trucks, bars, coffee shops/breweries and a grocery store right across the street, about a 25 min walk to the Dirty 6. This was by far one of the best hotels and experiences I've had in a beautiful and friendly city. I will definitely stay here again...and again...and again!!

Clearly in over their heads. The business model seems sound - rent out single units on AirBnb and…read moreHotels.com in multiple cities and states as if you were running a single hotel. The result is an uncoordinated, chaotic mess. The lesson: don't cheap out if you're looking for a booking on the east side. There's a reason they charge less than average. ARRIVAL: --- tl;dr Checking was delayed 3.5 hours! We couldn't get into the room until 6:30pm when checking was originally at 3. Their handling of the situation was a confused mess. --- My wife and I had booked a 1 night stay at the this location for her birthday, with plans to dine and drink in the area. Check in time was 3:06pm, I got a text message saying that our room "wasn't quite ready yet" but that "you are definitely welcome to head on up and drop off your luggage...". Okay cool, np, we were running late anyway. All we wanted to do was to change and get a drink before dinner, so leaving our luggage in the room would be fine. We arrived at 4pm to the complex lobby and sent a text that we'd arrived. The first indication that something was off was being greeted with a "Let me bet, you're waiting on the Guild too?" from a woman who'd also booked with them. The next red flag was the apt manager. She was friendly and had come to give us the wifi password and mentioned (somewhat apologetically) that this is common practice for the Guild - guests sitting around the lobby, suddenly in the dark about whether they're even checking into a room at all. Soon after the 4pm text, I get a response apologizing that the room isn't ready and to please enjoy a beer across the street, on them. That's fine and all, but I want to change. So I ask to be let into the room so that we can drop off our stuff. "We don't offer luggage storage on-site" and to drop off our stuff at their HQ.... blocks away. I reminded them that they had said we could drop it in the room. They respond by saying that a guild manager was down the street and that we could carry our stuff over to him to secure. What? It's not a _ton_ of luggage, but it's not nothing either. By now it's 4:30, we're hungry, wearing what we rushed out of the house in, and stuck in an apartment lobby. Ultimately, we had to change in the lobby's bathroom - fun. Around 5pm, we loaded up the car and decided to get something to eat before we fell over. CLEANLINESS: --- tl;dr Grime and dead bugs on and near the floorboards, a funky smell, and broken glass in the bathroom - you know, where you're most likely to be barefoot. --- So, the room had allegedly gotten an extra 3.5 hours worth of cleaning - it should be sparkling. It was, with some broken shards of glass around the toilet. The bathroom floor also had strands of hair near the toilet and tub, so it had definitely not been swept. There was grime and dirt that lined every foot of the baseboards around the apt. Lots of dead bugs. The floor felt as if it hadn't been swept. Likely it was just mopped quickly, leaving behind all the dirt that was originally there. My only question then is WTF did it look like _before_ it was cleaned?

This courtyard is in an area that most would not think to find a hotel. Behind a gas station and next to a storage facility. Upon entry ( late around 9 pm after driving) , the representative informed us that the internet was down and it took 20 Minutes before we were checked in manually as the internet still was not up . The representative was very hospitable and kind however. She did her job . Upon going to the floor it was apparent that this was a repurposed building . The carpet had a smell and stains . The plumbing in the ceiling was exposed and it was like no other courtyard I have experienced. We got to our room , which was much smaller than expected and a smaller restroom. The hotel Is next to the expressway so you can hear cars zoom by at night. The shower was good as the water was strong and hot. We received a voucher for free breakfast and enjoyed the service that morning very much . The staff are great and very pleasant ; Marriott needs to either invest in upgrades or withdraw from this location .

The lobby area smelled really good and provided cold water- which I know is standard, but it's the little things! The hotel was clean, again standard, but still worth a mention. Now the not so positive things. The building itself is just old. It's time to renovate, upgrade, or what have you. We were in Room 624 which had a king bed. Pretty spacious, not enough lighting though. The room came with a fridge, no microwave, small TV that had a broken screen, and a small chair/table combo to the side. There was also a desk chair that seemed broken as the backing was toooo leaned back. The bathroom was not the best. Definitely dated & the toilet struggled to flush, but happy to say nothing came back up LOL again, I know standard! The black out curtain was kind of old and raggedy. Had a lot of whatever it as on it. Time to change those! The pillow case had a small residue of something and the towels were thin and scratchy. It reeked of that detergent ALL hotels use, but since it was old, the smell stuck to it even more. The location is awkward. Not really close to anything except a Seafood restaurant that looked a little sketch. Parking is free though, so there's another positive! Overall, I wouldn't stay here again even if the price was right. Sorry to the staff, it ain't your fault!
