6/22/2015 My review…read moreis about having cataract surgery performed by Dr. Nasrullah and I am SO pleased!!! He is a wonderful surgeon. I am only 61 years old, but I have had cataracts for over 15 years and they only recently have affected my eyesight enough to have the surgery. I could have waited longer, but there really was not advantage to waiting, and I'm so happy I had it done. It's interesting because, since they do one eye at a time, I have had a head-to-head contrast between my left eye still with a cataract and my right eye with the cataract removed and a new multi-focal (Restor) lens implanted. I can SEE so much better and had no idea how much the cataracts affected my eyesight until I saw (am seeing!) the difference. Also, I am a real scardey cat and was really afraid of the surgery, but there really was NO PAIN! I was awake the whole time but it was very comfortable and really a breeze. A bit surreal, of course, but it didn't hurt! If you are considering it, please go ahead and do it - ask Dr. Nasrullah for my contact information and I would be happy to talk to you about my surgery and how my eyesight has been improved. Ask him to speak to Revae (my first name - pronounced re-VAY) and I will let him know it is okay to give you my contact info. On our first visit, Farida walked her through the procedure and answered all her questions. She was upfront about cost and even checked our insurance to determine what our final cost would be. We met Dr Nasrullah during our initial visit. He was very nice and took his time answering our questions. He explained the procedure and what would happen afterwards. We were glad we got to meet him that day because we felt much better about the procedure and decided to move forward. On the day of the procedure, we met Dr Nasrullah at the Reston Surgical Center. He reviewed the process and procedure again and answered our questions. They collected payment the day of the procedure. Cash or Credit Cards only- no checks accepted. The process was as quick as Dr Nasrullah described. The process itself took about 20 minutes, but with the preparation and post care we were at the center for about 2 hrs. Before the procedure, my aunt's vision was -6 due to the cataract. Now her vision is 20/20! Very happy with the results!

A correction exam was completed discussing the distance I need for the adjustment. The person I talked to refused to give me my prescription unless I bought glasses from them first. They told me you wouldn't go to burger king and order McDonalds food. I didn't understand this because it's my prescription and they were already paid for the appointment. Any other place I've gone to has given me my prescription because IT'S MINE. They were up front with costing and the process and were able to book me pretty soon out. Prior to the surgery, I did get a phone call preparing me. During the day of, I will say it got extremely busy. I was the first checked in, did a few eye checks, and saw the doc to go over any initial questions and the process, and my eligibility for the surgery. While I thought I would go into surgery shortly after that, I ended up waiting another 2 hours before the actual surgery, so pack reading materials and patience! I was given the option to go home first but didn't want to sink more time into commuting. I'm guessing all the initial checks happen in order then all the surgeries occurs The staff was really nice about the wait though so I hunkered down in a cozy room. I also went downstairs to the first floor pharmacy to grab my eye medication and snacks while I waited (also a great friendly pharmacy). Finally, I was called into surgery and was supplied an information folder, 2 medicated drops for later, moisturizing drops, sleep glasses, and sunglasses for departure. I was really, really afraid but Dr. Roberts assured me every step of the way and I really appreciated when he held my the side of my head because I was so terrified. It was completely painless and so fast!!! I was also worried I wouldn't be able to sleep so early in the day, but my eyes felt so tired and fuzzy that all I did want to do was sleep. By night, I saw perfect vision-- a little fuzzy-- but amazing. Night time was a little bit of halos for a while but now 2 months in my life is completely improved by this. Follow up appointments are free, easy, and fast and I have taken advantage of both so far. Now I just need to stop habitually reaching for contact lens that aren't there.... PS- they accept contact lens donations as well!

I cannot believe the change in this office for the NEGATIVE within the period of a year. His doctor is Dr. Grove. He is a wonderful Christian man. That did not change. But for the 10 minutes that we were with him, it really was not worth the way we were treated by the other office staff. I believe sensitivity training is in order for how to speak to an elderly patient. The first technician was RUDE. When she spoke to my father there was no kindness. She was totally doing her job and that was it. When she attempted one test, she was so incompetent that she had to get 2 other employees to help her. Maybe if she would have used better directional words my dad could have understood the task. Instead, she rudely sighed, said "nope" out loud and went to get help. When the trio came back, I said "let's remember he's 92 and he has Parkinson's ". At that point, nurse #1 told me I could have a seat in the waiting area. I said "absolutely not. I'm staying right here". So, after that, I was targeted as the B and my father's treatment went further downhill. The girl who did his refraction never made eye contact with me and said not one word of encouragement or kindness to my father. I'm sure nurse #1 told her how terrible I was. I left this review in the hopes that anyone having an elderly parent/relative going to LEC for an appointment goes with them to protect them from the generation of workers who are there now. I attempted to obtain my out of pocket costs prior to my surgery. I was given 4 different numbers. I received a billi paid half of it with the plan to pay the second half in 2 weeks. I received another bill. my $600 payment was not crusted I checked my bank account. the check was cashed when I called today. I was given an amount more owed more than the bill I was sent. They change the amount owed at a drop of a hat and it is never in your favor. I would not recommend this practice to my worst enemy. They have caused nothing but stress and anger. one of my co workers had the same issue so my case is not isolated.

He is also proactive and will refer you when there is a serious problem that needs additional attention. I'd have to lower the star rating for the office. Working with them can be a little frustrating at times. However, worth the aggravation to have a good doctor.
