We visited Lucy's on June 2nd during our Alaskan cruise trip. This place was given as a recommendation from one of the servers at the Skagway brewing company. He told us that we hands down had to get one of the cinnamon rolls at Lucy's before we left. So we made the quick little walk to this bakery headed away down a cool tunnel looking alley to get that cinnamon roll. The bakery itself was very cute it had two sections inside and was quite welcoming. The individual behind the cash register I believe was one of the owners and he had nothing but a big smile on his face and was greeting everyone so warmly. He was also quite excited to give out recommendations when we told him it was our first time here. For my caffeinated drink I got there summer latte which had a bit of lavender. It was deliciously silky smooth. The rest of my party just wanted straight up caffeine and got a special shots that work great quality. Now for the main event which was the cinnamon roll. We were so lucky that there were three left. Our group before got two of them and it was the best decision we made. The bread itself was soft with a little bit of a crunch on the outside. The glaze on top was not overly sweet and had such a rich flavor that it truly enhanced the spices within the cinnamon roll itself. If you are ever in the area and have a chance to try out Lucy's bakery go early to make sure that you can get one of them cinnamon rolls!

I enjoyed the espresso that I had here; it had a nutty profile that I liked very much. The cappuccino was also well-made, and the service was fast and attentive. The ambiance was clean and cute with a pink exterior. Speakers played contemporary hits. Outside seating a bathrooms plentiful and nearby. And later, I was very happy that this place was open because it was raining, and I decided to come in and try their rhubarb muffin and garden city matcha with rhubarb. Both items were delicious with the rhubarb adding a subtle flavor.

We got off the ship very early and was probably one of the first people in this little shop. There was a sign outside that said that they had the best cinnamon rolls and on a cooler day a cinnamon roll sounded perfect. I will say that this is probably one of the best cinnamon rolls that I've ever had to the point where I'm writing this review about a month and a half later. It lives rent-free in my head. I honestly would love to give this place five stars because I want everyone to try their amazing food but unfortunately the staff was not super nice the morning that we went in which kind of made the visit not the greatest. I will say that these people are probably used to very rude cruise goers and tourists so I do give them grace in that regard. Their food was absolutely amazing I also got a Earl Gray scone and took it to go and later enjoyed it with a cup of tea on the boat. The ambiance was great because it was tucked away in a back alley and there were restrooms available but they did ask that you make a small donation which we did. Overall I really cannot stop thinking about how amazing the scone and cinnamon roll were so I highly recommend checking this place out!

Vanilla bean scone was crumbly & tasty. The vanilla icing on top was just the right amount of sweetness. Arthur smiled & was friendlier the moment we walked in. Great sense of humor. We felt very welcome!

Lucy's sign at the corridor entrance to the courtyard.

The BEST cinnamon rolls, coffee, and vibes. Find the Lucy's sign corridor entrance and follow the railroad into the cutest courtyard with tables and chairs and sheltered from the Skagway winds. Bathrooms available (don't forget to leave 50 cents to help with cleaning costs). Great spot to catch your breath with friendly staff. Don't sleep on the cinnamon rolls - they'll heat them up for you and are huge.

There is no other place in Skagway I would rather be a regular at. This is my favorite stop on a morning walk, and I can always expect to be greeted with a kind smile in this quirky little bakery. I've never had anything as otherworldly good as the gluten free cocoa cookies and I highly doubt I ever will. Dairy and gluten dietary restrictions can be accommodated, but frankly one of her cupcakes is absolutely worth the stomachache. If I could leave 6 stars for this review I would.

Nice bakery, but nothing for me - gluten free and no chocolate. I was hoping for more options. DH enjoyed the cookies and scone.

Get the cinnamon rolls. The other offerings are quite good, but the stars of the place are the cinnamon rolls.

Everyone is here as there are 3 cruise ships in port today but, Skagway Brewing Company is down off the Main Street so it was quiet and it was also before 11am. Cute place! Quite large with dining upstairs and down with a bar upstairs too. I loved the sign by the bathroom. They have a balcony that is only for drinking. . Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and a cool interior. We walked right in and were greeted friendly and sent upstairs where we immediately sat down. Our waitress was nice and took good care of us. I ordered the blackened southwest salad with halibut. OH MY GOODNESS! Their salad dressing is house made, the blackening spices they used on the halibut is house made AND they have an aeroponic garden so all their greens are grown right there and are the freshest and tastiest I've ever had! Now, I have to say, if you are in Alaska, GET HALIBUT!! I have to confess halibut is my absolute favorite fish so I died and went to heaven. Excellent salad! I ate every single bite and I got the full salad. Totally worth it. I also got their house made root beer that came in a super frosty mug and was delicious!! My husband got the beer flight that has four 2 oz beer pours. He also got the Brewer's Alaskan Halibut fish and chips. The fish was so hot and fresh he had to wait to eat for a bit! The fries were super tasty, crisp outside and perfectly cooked inside. He enjoyed his beers too! I'm a bit sad we won't be back in Skagway as I would eat here again! If you come to town, eat here. Do it. You will be very thankful! Also they have cute gift shop with swag on the first floor. Thanks Skagway Brewing Company!!

A local recommended the Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) as the place "where rural Alaskans shop." Per their website, ACC operates 37 stores in Alaska with 1000+ employees; we visited the one in Skagway. ACC offers groceries, fresh produce, general merchandise, and specialty items like furniture, electronics, snow machines, and ATVs. Of most interest to us, they were in an easy walking distance from the cruise terminal AND they had a section of over-the-counter medications. Our general impression of ACC was favorable. As mentioned, they stocked pretty much anything that you might need -- at Alaska reasonable prices (meaning that prices are higher than the lower 48 but fair for Alaska). We purchased a generic calcium antacid with 125 tablets for $5.99 (plus $0.30 tax). The aisles were well-stocked, clean, and items were easy to find. The check-out line was relatively short, and moved quickly. The girl who checked us out was sufficiently friendly and efficient. Our item went through at the correct price. There was free parking in front of the store, though we walked from the cruise terminal.

The brewer who did our tour was super enthusiastic and fun to hang out with. He made sure our glasses were topped off and gave a great talk about the workings of the brewery and his passion for beer. We got to try three 8-oz samples and a full pint, all included with the tour. The beer was good and the root beer was great. I highly recommend that you make sure to try the root beer and the coffee stout; they were the most delicious. The lighter beers were good too, but not as flavorful. The tour was too short, though. Our day in Skagway was quite long, and this only filled part of the afternoon. And it could easily have been longer, too, since getting people to chug four glasses of beer in less than an hour really rushes the experience. The bus company that took us to and from the brewery was also very good. The drivers talked extensively about the town and its history, even fielding impromptu questions.

The place is a brewery that apparently also does tours, food, and, from what we inferred, a bit of live music from time to time. We were only there long enough to taste beer, so I can really only speak to that. We did a tasting of six beers, and I can't say I much cared for any of them. A lot of them had a sour, funky kind of thing happening, which, if it was intentional, was just not to my taste. Some of the heavier ones were okay (bigger flavors masked some of the funky), but we couldn't finish the lighter ones because of it. At least the service was good.
