HIghly recommend this place. I was able to speak to Lucy right away (not an answering machine :) and was able to schedule FIVE sessions with my son, leading to his road test. She sent me a text reminder the night before each appointment. I had a question about the time and I was able to talk to Nicole right away. My son had Lester as his teacher and I can't thank him enough for his help. He gave concise instructions and boosted my son's confidence on the very 1st session. He texted if he was going to be a few minutes late and he always made up for the time if he was late. I asked around and their rates are very good compared to others. The cars are old and ripped inside. When they drive my daughter to the road test, it was in a car different than the one she took her lessons. They didn't even take the time to go over the rules. Finally, they agreed to give me back a refund for 2 lessons and then I had to contact them several times. She first tried to say I needed a different app, so I sent my link. I wrote several times. First she sent me the link back, then said she had to wait for her assistant, then sent me a link to some other person that she paid, then said I got the money when it was some stranger, then I finally threatened to contact my lawyer. I finally sent her my Zelle instead of CashApp and she finally sent it over after 3 weeks and a back and forth. This business is very unprofessional and I would avoid it at all cost. read more

HORRIBLE! Would give 0 stars if I could. Some positives: Instructor Lester was chill and helpful. He was kind and gave good advice. HOWEVER, Lucy is unprofessional and does not like to give refunds. She will give you a very hard time if you request refunds and will even go so far as to lie to your face about money, sending fake screenshots of payments to random people that are NOT you. I got the package with 5 45min lessons and road test appointment. The instructors were very chill. Which I greatly appreciate because it doesn't help when you have an instructor who's got a very uptight energy. I've had 3 different instructors over the course of the 5 lessons. They were all kind and calm and good at helping me understand the tips and tricks to getting parking down pat and also turns which is the only thing I needed to work on to feel confident in passing my road test. I had my road test on Thursday. We met up near the testing site before my test about an hour before. The 4 stars is due to the fact that I didn't get a mock test/review right before the road test that whole hour before my appointment. Which I needed because the person that showed up to my test I hadn't met before from the driving school. His car was a newer car, and I hadn't practiced in it before so I wasn't familiar with the feel and sensitivity of the car when driving(you know every car is different). Luckily I had a kind and understanding examiner assess me, and she was able to pick up on the fact that I was a good driver that just hadn't gotten practice in that car before. My test was super quick and I passed on the first try. I've been to one other driving school and scheduled a road test with them before (this was my first time ever driving at 17/18 almost 10 years ago in NJ). With the car rental they gave me a review before my road test which I didn't do well on because the instructor clearly wasn't very good at his job. All in all, despite that minor complaint about the road test day, I would still recommend Lucy's driving school because their staff was nice and good at teaching. Just be sure that if you're booking the road test with them that you at least get a car you've been practicing in. I'm lucky I was still able to do well enough to pass despite not having had the chance to familiarize myself with this different (newer) vehicle. read more

I had an amazing experience. I paid for the 20 lessons with the 5 hour class with the car for the road test. The instructor I had always messaged me 15 minutes before pick up. he was very patient and caring . He had the patience to be very repetitive with instructions and made sure I mastered a skill before moving onto another skill. He pointed out my weaknesses and always cheered me on . He gave me many test during my driving lessons felt like I was in a five star driving boot camp with the kindest knowledgeable teacher. I found out today I passed the road test!!!! Let me begin by saying that I am a consumer that spends a lot of money travels to different places, and deals with a lot of people. I'm also in customer service. I am a nurse, so I deal with people all day. With that being said, this auto school took my $89 for the use of a car for my son's road test over two weeks ago. They never sent a confirmation of payment. They also have yet to contact my son for his appointment, which is tomorrow at 1 o'clock, so I asked him to call very early in this morning to leave a message confirming his appointment. before he gets busy at work and forgets. Mind you his road test is tomorrow and as I stated we haven't heard from them so I didn't want any snafu's the day of the appointment. When I tell you this bitch Lucy picks up the phone at 6:30 in the morning screams at my son asking him why he's calling so early and proceeds to hang up on him. I decided to call the number back to apologize , thinking we possibly called the wrong number because most businesses have a voicemail where you can leave a message no matter the time of the day. Well, let me tell you When I called, I'm gathering from her nasty attitude that she uses her personal cell phone as the business phone and proceeds to curse me out as well and hangs up. As of the time of this review, it is 7:25 AM on April 4, 2024. I now want my money back through Zelle the same way I sent it to her and I want an apology for my son. She was veryyyy RUDE! And DISRESPECTFUL!! Please take my advice when I tell you do not use your hard earned money for this school. I just moved to Yonkers from Brooklyn and have never driven before. I was looking to sign up for lessons to get my license. I called another school first and person on the phone was so aggressive and rude, then I called Lucy. Lucy was so sweet on the phone and agreed the 10 lesson package would be appropriate. It includes the 5 hour licensing class (which was done on zoom cause of covid) and use of their car for the road test. The instructors and kind, patient and have great knowledge to share. Just an amazing experience with this driving school. I needed a license before I started swim team and Lucy driving school greatly helped me to do that. Lucy is such a sweet and lovely women always able to help you out with whatever you need. Lester is such an amazing driving instructor who helped me to learn how to drive. He's so patient and relaxed and that's what makes this place so good. Best driving instructor I had and they helped me greatly in booking my road test and driving me there. Overall if you need to learn how to drive this school we greatly help you to do that and set you for success on the road. This is not a real business location for this driving school my daughter paid $500+ for 10 lessons and 5hr class, they took her to driving test and she failed, additionally I paid $260 for 5 more classes for her but she is on her own to go back for driving test. Please don't use this business very unprofessional the owner Lucy while my daughter taking lessons with her was on her cell phone the entire time. We should get a refund. I see I can attach a photo. Wish I took one after experiencing an idiot instructor the other day. I just called to complain and the smart-ass guy just blew it off. I know he will not tell the owner. I hope she has a lot of insurance so she does not lose her business when she is sued. Turned off of a residential street onto a street about 100-110' long which connects to a more major road. Nice to see a girl who looks about 20 years old with light brown hair sitting across the middle of the street making an illegal and very dangerous U-turn. HAd it been some of the other people in my neighborhood she may not have been so lucky and neither would the student in the car. This info on both parties was stated to me by the smart-ass. Over the last two years I have see their cars doing many strange things like sitting in the middle of the street and while you wait 10-15 seconds to let them decide what they are doing, they are still sitting there. Pulling away from the curb right in front of you and without blinking, to the girl above who then pulled through the stop sign and turned without blinking. It is always nice to see a person make an illegal U-turn where two roads connect in a residential area, where it can almost not be done by someone who had been driving for 30 years. I will do Lucy a favor and file a complaint with the state commissioner and ask for an investigation and suspension of their licens efor 30 days. So much for having a smart-ass as your assistant. By the way, I used to teach so I know how to do it properly. Think twice before you sign up. All those people who passed their tests would have done it no matter where they went. read more

Had a horrible experience with this place. They are rude and unprofessional. They would not answer the phones, had the audacity to take my son out for night time driving as a new driver. They did not work on any of the fundamentals that are needed for him to pass the test. Then the owner conducted a 5 hour class just talking about her dog. Worse place ever. PICK ANOTHER DRIVING SCHOOL! The road test form asks for driving instruction info. We never received a receipt so I had to call the school for the info (instructors name, license number etc.). I spoke to Lucy herself and was told that info wasn't needed. She told me to come to the office to get the info, but we were on our way to the road test. I asked if she could email me whatever I would be coming to the office for. She was SOOO rude and flat out refused to give me any info. When I asked would I be able to at least have the instructors name, she proceeded to hang the phone up on me. Very unprofessional. Spend your money somewhere else. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. Very unprofessional, specially Lucy, the owner. Starting the first day, me and my sister got in office, a lady ( her assistant was changing her pants in a corner). I had to wait her ending her phone calls without even greeting us. Then after we choose the packet that we needed they start making comments why l was speaking for my sister wich she just came to the states and she had no idea how getting a driving Licence work( and also she is 18yrs old) . When my sister started her driving lesson they never were in time, they never called to let us know that they are running late and when we call them they use to excuse their selfs with lies like my lights are not working, l stopped to fix them. In six classes my sister didn't have the same instructors, one of them ( a man) he didn't even work for them, he said he was just helping them out today bcs they couldn't make it. She took 2 lessons with Lucy, first of them she was 20 min late, for less than one hour she was on her phone and she didn't even explain anything to her, she stopped at her office to run her errands during the lesson. And the last thing, she needed to pee and she pulled over , and she peed between two doors ( passenger and back door ) . Also their instructors don't have the license to teach, the car that they use doesn't have any sign on it that says "DRIVING SCHOOL" wich sounds weird! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. HAD TO CANCEL WITH THEM. I passed my test the first time round after a few lessons with Lucy. Having an EU license, I was hesitant as to whether or not I could ever learn to drive on the opposite side of the road. Lucy made me feel so comfortable, calm and relaxed behind the wheel. She gave me the constructive criticism that I needed, while also complimenting me on what I was doing correctly (unlike other driving schools where they tend to pressure you into thinking you know nothing and have a lot to learn). it was not worth the money. lucy was always eating or talking on the phone during the class. she also needs bathroom breaks during class. she always checks the time and acts impatient throughout the lesson because she does not want to be there. there were other instructors who were helpul but lucy was not it .i passed the test though no thats to lucy. read more
