I was able to book a lesson right away. I mean like 2 days from booking! Seemed like this instructor had open availability.... but okay, at least I could practice. I got Julio (I did not read the reviews beforehand...) and it was the worst experience that I've ever had driving. This man kept grabbing the steering wheel, yelling about how people complain about him, told me to look at this car and that car b/c they don't know what they're doing, etc.. This lesson was a mess. The ladies that I spoke to were always pleasant whenever someone actually answered the phone.. They were helpful however they always seems disorganized and in a rush. I understand there's a lot going on in the world they just might be understaffed. I requested to change instructors right after that lesson. I got Ron and he is actually the reason I'm even giving this school stars. Ron was like a breath of fresh air. Calm, patient and able to communicate while giving pointers & critiques. He's still stern without all of the extra rah rah and I appreciate that. If you are going to book lessons request Ron. I actually took my road test this week and passed. But wanted to share my experience.

I had to scramble a couple of days before my road test to find a car I can rent for my test as well as possibly take a class to familiarize myself with the loaner vehicle. Enter MR. LANE. I live in Manhattan but could not afford the Manhattan prices. The blessing of this Driving School first came with the affordable rental and driving lesson. I paid less for the rental and driving lesson than what I would have paid for in Manhattan for the car rental alone. 2nd Blessing: I thought I knew it all and if it wasn't for Mr. Lane's wise words I probably would have failed. We get very comfortable thinking our friend's can teach us everything we need to know to pass but trust me it isn't the same. You need someone who does this for a living. Obtaining your license is a very monumental part of life and you should do it with someone that is not only knowledgeable but also with someone that makes you feel comfortable. As soon as I passed my test I jumped out of the car and gave him a huge hug. I was so happy I forgot to unbuckle my seat belt and almost snapped my neck in half. He saved me from wasting more money. He saved me from wasting more time. He saved me from the dreaded bus and trains we all hate. But most importantly he is a direct reason why I am going to have more opportunities to expand my horizons and push the limits of my potential to the next level. The instructor (owner) is very polite, and provides great instruction, making you comfortable to receive the information properly. There were little to no reviews so I was skeptical but I decided to take a chance and I'm happy that I did. I had 12 lessons in the past 3 months using their honda civics (great car by the way). The owner, Iris, is awesome! I've done the 5 hour pre licensing course before and it was sooooooo boring but with Iris it wasn't so bad because she actually made it fun yet informative. With 12 lessons I had about 5 or 6 different instructors- Diana (I think. she's blonde), Mike, Richard and Lori are the names I remember. All of them are very nice and patient. They all have they're different methods of teaching but at the end of the day, you learn what you need to learn so you can pass. The instructors actually care about you unlike some of these other money hungry businesses. They may not remember your name, but they'll remember your face as well as your strengths and weaknesses. I took my road test in New Rochelle with the instructor's personal car and I was a nervous wreck. I was so used to the honda civics, it was pouring rain and I was scared to fail in general. Iris and Diana really tried to boost our confidence and it worked. I passed and only got 10 points off. I think almost everyone from Safecruz passed today which speaks volumes. I think we got complimented the most on our parallel parking and broken u turns because the instructors make it look so easy! I take one star off because one of the secretaries is disorganized with the scheduling and doesn't taking down people's correct information properly. At least that's my experience with her.
