My experience was a great one. I used this driving school years ago for one lesson, before stopping due to health and ailments. I was lucky recently, to get a last minute car and instructor for my road test with a lesson right before it. I was extremely nervous that morning, but my instructor (the owner) was so people friendly, motivating and made sure I knew and remembered key items for the road test. I passed and he even called me by video to advise so! Riveras is reasonably priced and works with people allowing payment plans if you cannot pay in full at start. The instructor (owner) is very polite, and provides great instruction, making you comfortable to receive the information properly. They have online bookings, which made things very easy, as well as in person or via phone. You receive reminder alerts by email and text. I recommend this school to anyone! read more

If you suffer from severe anxiety like me this is the driving school for you . I told Michael( driving instructor) about my situation and he advised me that he would help me to overcome my anxiety . I paid for five lessons in March . However, my biggest obstacle was i would freeze up when entering intersections and my right turns were wide . After my fifth lesson Michael was honest with me and he told me I wasn't ready and I needed more practice and I needed to relax and stop panicking. I was upset and thought he was being too critical and I went to another driving school . Whilst at that the other driving school I realized that my new instructor didn't emphasize the hand over hand technique and my turns were still too wide and I keep panicking when entering an intersection . My new instructor kept pressuring me to book my road test and I knew I wasn't ready . I called Michael and told him that I really wanted to pass my road test . He scheduled me for five more lessons and he give some helpful notes on how to parallel park, how to do a U turn ,how to approach an intersection and how to do a right and left turn . After the lessons he told me that if I followed his instructions I would get my licenses. I can proudly say that Michael was right ; I did my road test on August 29 and everything that I was taught I applied to my road test and I passed . This place is by far the worse place I've ever come into contact with. The manager is unbearable and hard to deal with. They don't open on the time they stated on Google , they open whenever they feel like. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Michael is THAT GUY. And I mean that in a good wa. Michael doesn't sugar coat things, he gives great feedback, and is all around a good guy to be learning from. The booking staff are friendly and try to get you in as early as possible. Overall if follow Michael's instructions, nothing more nothing less, you're bound to pass on the first attempt. read more

this people made me waist my time. i went to the office for my lesson because they did not specified i was going to be picked up from home!!!! they need to be more organized!... i called the office 1/2 before my class started and nobody picked up the phone. i ended up going to the office and nobody was there neither. i would've appreciated if the pick up/drop off was specified earlier or at least when you are enrolling for clases to avoid misunderstandings. read more

Rivera's driving school is the best driving school in the Bronx the school is in the area, take my word for it cause i actually dabble in almost each school in the northeast bronx and Rivera's is above. Great with patience and expert guidance, i actually passed my road test on my first try! The least to say im extremely satisfied with my investment in them. read more

Extremely unprofessional. Cars are generally filled with garbage, and poorly maintained. The instructor Michael has zero patience and pretty much lets you know how you're worthless as a human being for simple mistakes, constantly makes inappropriate jokes, and does nothing to build your confidence for the test. At the end of each lesson, he makes you drive to pick up the person scheduled for the next lesson, and then they drive you home, meaning you'll be in the car with other random people. Honestly wouldn't waste any time with these guys. The only good thing they offer is the 5 hour course with their instructor Al Cinamon. Everything other than that is garbage. read more

Great driving school, i honestly believe if it wasn't for the lessons i learned with riveras i would not have passed my road test. The staff is friendly, the instructors are patient and work with you to be a good driver. Learning to drive at this school was a wonderful experience. Chris & Michael are both excellent teachers, and the classes are super affordable. They are thorough in their teaching and really make sure you know and understand all safety rules & regulations. I was able to pass my road test easily because I was very well prepared. Ok the lady is super racist she calls black people monkey and they have a way of teaching where your in the car with other people. So i get in the car i have to drive someone else home[im paying for this] i need to get my class and i took over 10 lessons and none focused on parking or broken u turns. So i spent X amount of money driving people around and so whats soppose to be a 45 min class is ussually done like this u spend your first 15-20 mins driving this person home on local roads then gyou pick up the next person. Smh so u really dont get a class. . Or if your running on a schedule dont bother because if the person that picked u up doesnt have a full 45 mins then they are driving them selves home and you are in the back seat. If I could give zero stars I would! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!!! 1. they lied and told me that I would be picked up from my residence for my lesson 2. Ten minutes after my lesson should have started I receive a phone call from the owner saying it's too much of a pain to come to me, it'll take too long 3. She TRIED to yell at me about how she makes the rules when I told her her staff gave me incorrect information 4. When I said I was coming for a refund she called me a bitch and concluded with fuck you........I paid this disgusting company $385 to be cursed at and told it's too much of a pain to do the job I paid them for. I highly recommend this driving school. Chris is the best instructor! She really cares about her student drivers. She tells you what you are doing wrong and how to improve your skills. If you feel insecure about something, she will make you repeat it until you feel confident with yourself. She made parking really easy. After a terrible experience driving for the first time in 10 years I was beyond nervous about driving on my own. I decided before I attempted a second trip I would take some refresher lessons and got in touch with Rivera's Driving School...I am so happy I did! So I only am giving this school two stars . One for a driving lesson and another for a five hour class. But let me tell you about the customer service. So I booked a road test and was told a date of my road test 2 months after I booked. The day of my road test after an hour wait, I get in the car and my driving instructor tells me I am not on the list. I had called the school 4x between 9:30 and 11:45 ( my road test was scheduled for 11am) to make sure everything was in order. I was even told by the receptionist a confirmation number for my road test appointment, after falling DMV myself --- I realized there was no appointment scheduled in their system. I called the school a 5th time to finally be told by the receptionist that my appointment was scheduled the day before, so there is nothing she could do about it - I just have to reschedule. I had to have someone drive me down to their office - the receptionist had no remorse in the error of the school telling me a different day to show up at a road test than was scheduled. The receptionist even proceeded to show me a text she sent me a month in advance (literally 4 weeks before my appointment) ; I asked her if she called and did not get me why didn't she use my other contact information and she told me "oh we really don't use that." To solve my issue I called dmv and booked my appointment myself which now delays me getting my drivers license for weeks now. Between the Misinformation and the bad attitude save your time and your money and place your trust in another driving school. read more
