I was able to book a lesson right away. I mean like 2 days from booking! Seemed like this instructor had open availability.... but okay, at least I could practice. I got Julio (I did not read the reviews beforehand...) and it was the worst experience that I've ever had driving. This man kept grabbing the steering wheel, yelling about how people complain about him, told me to look at this car and that car b/c they don't know what they're doing, etc.. This lesson was a mess. The ladies that I spoke to were always pleasant whenever someone actually answered the phone.. They were helpful however they always seems disorganized and in a rush. I understand there's a lot going on in the world they just might be understaffed. I requested to change instructors right after that lesson. I got Ron and he is actually the reason I'm even giving this school stars. Ron was like a breath of fresh air. Calm, patient and able to communicate while giving pointers & critiques. He's still stern without all of the extra rah rah and I appreciate that. If you are going to book lessons request Ron. I actually took my road test this week and passed. But wanted to share my experience.

I had to scramble a couple of days before my road test to find a car I can rent for my test as well as possibly take a class to familiarize myself with the loaner vehicle. Enter MR. LANE. I live in Manhattan but could not afford the Manhattan prices. The blessing of this Driving School first came with the affordable rental and driving lesson. I paid less for the rental and driving lesson than what I would have paid for in Manhattan for the car rental alone. 2nd Blessing: I thought I knew it all and if it wasn't for Mr. Lane's wise words I probably would have failed. We get very comfortable thinking our friend's can teach us everything we need to know to pass but trust me it isn't the same. You need someone who does this for a living. Obtaining your license is a very monumental part of life and you should do it with someone that is not only knowledgeable but also with someone that makes you feel comfortable. As soon as I passed my test I jumped out of the car and gave him a huge hug. I was so happy I forgot to unbuckle my seat belt and almost snapped my neck in half. He saved me from wasting more money. He saved me from wasting more time. He saved me from the dreaded bus and trains we all hate. But most importantly he is a direct reason why I am going to have more opportunities to expand my horizons and push the limits of my potential to the next level. Obtaining your license is not only granting you the right to drive; it also giving you the freedom to explore on your own terms. No bus schedules necessary. No delayed trains. Thank you for everything MR. LANE Much Love

Driving has been my biggest challenge and I'm glad I signed up for the 6-7 lessons package. Although I'm still a new driver I feel so much more confident. Andy helped me work on problem areas such as my left/right turns, steering the wheel correctly and merging. Andy was straightforward and didn't make me feel overwhelmed. Whenever I messed up he was very patient and would make me laugh and encouraged me to try again. Practicing with Andy has made me feel less afraid to drive and parallel park!!! Yayyy My experience with Gotham driving school has been excellent. Irene was super sweet she would always call me to check in on how I was doing and took care of scheduling my lessons and road test. She was super encouraging and caring . The Pre-licensing course was super useful compare to my previous driving school it helped me with road signs and how to approach situations you might come across on the road. Thank you Andy for helping me achieve one of my goals. I would recommend if you're looking for a Driving school to look in the Gotham website and signing up for Lessons in a package as they include everything you need. The online 5-hour class was also very flexible and convenient, making it easy to fit into our busy schedule.
