Both the…read moreonline price list and the price list displayed in the salon clearly stated that a new set was $45, but when I sat down, I was told it would be $80. When I questioned the price, she claimed they no longer offer acrylics and that both price lists were outdated. However, I could clearly see acrylic powder sitting at her station, which made the explanation seem dishonest and felt like an excuse to charge double the advertised price. To make matters worse, less than three hours after leaving the salon, two of my nails snapped off completely. The quality was so poor that I had to pay another salon to fix and redo them the same day. Between the misleading pricing, the unprofessional attitude, and nails breaking within hours, this was an extremely disappointing experience. Don't waste your money here.

It is also incredibly clean and a popular salon in the area. As far as a regular manicure, I ended up with beautifully manicured nails. Color selection was great with both OPI and Essie colors available. My biggest surprise came at the time of checking out. While the experience was nice, $15.00 for a regular manicure is a bit steep. That is my only gripe, but definitely worth the spend if it is a place you like and trust.

I haven't made it down here in a while since Bry's Nails opened and is much closer to me, but they were closed and I needed a pedicure, so I made the trek down to H&K recently. I got there around two hours before closing time and the wait on a weekday was around a half hour. I had no other options at this point, so I decided to wait it out. It was super busy, they actually ended up turning a few people away who came in after me. Once I was in the chair all went well. My nail tech was super professional and did an excellent job. The nail color selection here is okay but not as robust as other nearby spots. But all in all, a good, centrally located nail salon.

I went to the salon on a Thursday, 11:30am for a regular manicure ($13). Had called the day before to make an appointment, got there a bit late (that's why the bigger tip) but the ladies seemed very relaxed about it. The salon was empty & they were very casual & chatty. Fenny greeted me first & I could tell she's probably very good at nail design & detail. However, the head tech on the far left station, next to the sinks did my manicure. It's a dry (used electric filing tool to do my cuticles), no lotion, no massage experience. And the tech used a dirty (had a smear of purple polish in the middle) warm washcloth as the "hot treatment/cleaning" part. I meditated & lowered my expectations & went with the flow. Let her finish up, things look average & it wasn't until my nails were dry and I got outside that I noticed the poor quality. Application: right hand looked okay but polish got on a few of the cuticles & had to carefully remove it at home. Left hand nail polish layers were bumpy & uneven. I noticed the tech painting strokes at an angle, and then at the end, felt her dab my index finger weirdly. It's easy to mess up enamel application & with a nude color like that - of course it'll show when dry! The salon is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks. The pedicure furniture and manicure stations are clean and well kept. Decor is actually cute & having the sinks in the middle of the room seems so convenient. There's an AMAZING amount of gel & regular color options! But the whole experience just involved a lot of chatter & minimal attention to detail. Not sure if I'll be back, maybe I'll request Fenny (a client came in with long red gels for her). Or maybe the staff doesn't like doing regular mani's anymore?

Despite calling a week in advance and confirming my time, the last few visits have resulted in long waits or being told they don't have time for me at all -- without any apology or acknowledgment. Most recently, I booked an appointment for myself and a friend. We arrived on time and were told they couldn't take us. We offered to go have lunch and return in an hour, and they agreed. When we came back, they still didn't have time for us. It's frustrating, especially when it happens repeatedly and there's no effort to make it right. If appointments are not going to be honored, they simply shouldn't take them. Sadly, because of this consistent issue and lack of accountability, I won't be returning.

I ventured here when my usual place wasn't open that day and I'm very happy I did. Ended up getting the Green Tea Spa Pedicure (see photo for pedicure offerings and current pricing). Never had steam on my legs before during a pedicure and it felt like a unique extra touch that was enjoyable. Place is extremely clean and sanitary and I noticed people were trickling in and out while I was there. Most of the employees seem to speak enough English to communicate effectively (and of course some Spanish-speaking employees as well). My pedicure was done by Mia and I was so happy at the end, I tipped her $20 ontop of the price. They are extremely friendly, don't rush at all, and even a free shoulder rub while my toes were drying. They offer a stamp card for frequent visits so be sure to ask for one! Will definitely be back to check out their manicures.
