Usually go for pedicure and depending on who you get it is ok to great. I gauge on the foot massage. Its really hit or miss, but toes always look pretty. My recent issue was with my lip and chin being waxed. Two things... Both areas are stated as $5 each. I was charged an extra $2 for the chin which was not discussed with me at all. Principal wise I find this super irritating. The other thing was the prep and waxing of my lip. There was none and now my lip is super broken out. I feel like there was a disservice to my face. No hair but super irritated and broken out- counter productive. I will not get anything waxed here ever again. read more

Sam is fantastic! The spa pedicure addressed all my issues and I feel like I have a new friend because Sam loves to talk as much as I do.

My friend made a reservation for the two of us to have a pedicure together. It was very busy, but they sat us together toward the back of the facility. My friend is a regular patron, so she was tended to immediately. Someone started filling up the basin for my feet, but didn't inform me how to use the massage chair, and left. I sat there for 30 minutes while my friend had her pedicure, and I was ignored. It turns out she was working with another patron, but didn't tell me. The chair started to become rock hard to sit on, so I got up and left. Very disappointing that new patrons get treated poorly read more

I went looking for a nail salon because I just recently moved here and was looking for a new place , I went here waited 30 mins for someone to help me and then when they did help me they were rude and not professional . After they were done I realized my nails looked horrible . I have 3 crooked nails, the paint job was horrible not even all the way up my nail. I have only have had them on for 3 days and they look like I need a fill already and I paid 40$ for crappy nails. I will never come back here again and will tell all my family and friends not to come here as well. So please don't let the reviews trick you go somewhere else ! read more

Possibly one of the top notch go to nail salon, I have been going since middle school. I have gone to many others in Auburn and in the Reno area where they cut you and don't do anything about it. I did not have a good experience. Nancy did my nails and she was super rude, made me feel very uncomfortable. When I asked her to fix a crooked nail she said "here you do it". She got the wrong color and after she applied It I told her it was the wrong color and she said "oh now you tell me after it's already on your nails " but when I told her she kept applying it. She rushed through my topcoat and put way too much on and I told her it was too much and she just kept going. Very satisfied with the mani/pedi I received today and am actually quite confused on why this place only has 3 stars. Being a Saturday, the place was pretty packed, but there were 3 pedicure chairs available. I was able to get both services done at the same time which was awesome. I recommend that you simply make an appointment if you are impatient or have lots of errands to run in the same day. They do a great job here and don't deserve a bad rep. Love this place. They have a great ambiance, very relaxing place to be. They have a great polish selection and I usually walk out extremely satisfied. I would have given them 5 stars but my last visit was not so satisfactory. They always greet me by name, cause I go in so frequently. I sit down with one lady and she starts to remove my polish. Then as she talks amongst the others they switch me to another girl who I have never been helped by. She looks like the youngest one in there and I believe she is new. I immediately notice her urgency to remove my polish as if she is in some sort of hurry. I let her do what she does and as she goes to cut down my nails she asks how long I want and she starts with my pinky, I tell her what I like for length and she cuts it. She then continues to *snip snip snip* the rest of my nails not seeming to care about my length preference and she also does not measure out each nail with both hands, which every other nail stylist has done EVERY time I've had my nails done. Needless to say my length is too short and there's no going back. To get to my point this girl needs to slow down and pay attention to what she's doing and what the customer wants. My only complaint is that she told me that my nails were dry but by the time I had gotten to Starbucks to get coffee I reached into my purse and took my hand out and one of my nails was ruined.. My only advice would be to stay longer than they advise. read more

I have been going to Lucky Nails for a few years and I love the friendly, professional, service I receive every time. Helen, the owner does my pedicures and French manicures every 2 weeks and she does a fabulous job. She is the kindest, sweetest person and she is passionate about giving all clients the absolute best service. The salon is updated with a stylish, beach theme and they have the most comfortable massage chairs. Most importantly they are the cleanest salon I have ever been to. This place has improved. The salon is wonderful, nice pedicure chairs, clean environment and now they have iPads you can use while getting your nails done. Customer service is better. I love this place. They're good at what they do (pedis, acrylic, wax), always accept walk-ins, and Helen always remembers your name. I've been going here for 3 years, and think they're great, no matter which girl you get! I've had nails done by several different ladies, and I'm pretty particular. I'm surprised that this place doesn't have better reviews because it's always packed with customers, and my biggest complaint is that you can't assume they will have time when you just walk in. I definitely recommend an appointment. Aside from that, I've been coming to this place for years, and the service has always been good. Some of the gals are better than others, but you learn to remember who you like most. There are usually at least 8 nail techs working at a time keeping the pedicure chairs/thrones busy! Popular manicurists are Tami, Terry (spell?), and my recent favorite is Helena. Helena gives an amazing massage with the pedicure. There are others, but I can't remember all the names. Another minor complaint is that it's a little noisy and there is a TV constantly playing Fox-news of all things?! But that's not a deal-breaker. For this type of busy salon, my over all review is "thumbs up." During the warmer seasons I'm there almost every month -- and apparently so is everyone else! read more

Worst nails that I have ever had. Had them for 5-6 days already and 5 nails have broken off, they are crooked, the lady (he name is Kim) cut my finger. She also refused to fix the nail she made me ruin by refusing to grab my purse for me because she had to do someone's eyebrow appointment. You shouldn't leave your current customer before your buisness is finished. I STILL tipped this atrocious place. I just moved to Auburn and I get my nails done every two weeks and I will NOT BE GOING BACK to Lucky Nails. I paid for the most expensive Gel nails and the very next day they were cracked more than I have ever seen....and I've been to many a different nail place in my day. NOt tomention when I got a pedicure there they literally argued with me over the color flower I wanted on my toes. That conversation went on WAY to long. Being new to the area, I just found this little gem of a nail salon today. I was a walk-in to get a quick toenail trim and new polish (not the full pedicure). My girl's name was Lee-Lee (sp? or maybe Li-Le), and she was a delight! Very professional and sweet, she informed me of other services that were available but wasn't pushy. A lady next to me was having a full pedicure with leg massage and told me the shop was "the best ever." All the employees were smiling and laughing with their clients but weren't having long conversations with each other in Vietnamese. (I appreciated that as in some shops I've felt uncomfortable wondering if their laughter was about me.) I felt totally at home and will definitely go back when I have more time (and a larger budget). My trim and polish change was just $10 plus the $2 I tipped Li-Le. Very affordable! read more

I went to this salon initially because of the close proximity to my house. That was three weeks ago. My manicurist name was Tammy. I had a full set of fiberglass nails and she used the gel polish .Except for how my nails have grown out in that time they look as good as the day she did them. I took my daughter when she was visiting and although they got us in promptly, the pedicures were bad for both of us. We paid for the upgrade to have calluses removed but it was a poor effort, we both left with bumpy, sloppily polished nails and calluses. Two different nail techs, both disappointing. If I could give this place a half star or less, I would. Went here to get a set of acrylics put on about a week and a half ago, and I was thoroughly disappointed. The woman who did my nails was very rude and pushy, and VERY rough with my hands. Seriously, the way she ground my nails with this file she used made my fingers ache for a few days afterward. She refused to converse with me for the entire awkward 45 minutes she was working on my hands, even after I tried complimenting her on her bracelet (which she quickly smirked at me for). She ended up charging me an extra $10 for services I wasn't even aware I was getting, and when I confronted her about the suspicious charges, she only proceeded to bitch me out in Vietnamese. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me. Also, when I was waiting for the gel on my fingers to dry, I asked her nicely if she could file the gel off that had gotten under my nails, since there was quite a bit under there. Another female worker came up to me, grabbed my hand, and proceeded to try and pick the gel out with her fingernail, and she would have ripped my damn fingernail off if I hadn't pulled my hand away. Definitely happy with my pedicures here. Have been going here for over 2 years now. Linda was my most recent technician, and she was great. Very thorough, and friendly as well. The salon was very clean, and I noticed that while I was there, a staff member was cleaning the waiting area and "nail drying station" too. I will definitely be back. read more

I moved to Auburn late last year and wasn't sure where to go for my regular pedicures. Since Lucky Nails is relatively close to home I tried it out. I was very impressed by the level of service and the quality of my pedicure. The ambiance was very nice, wasn't expecting a beach theme from looking at the place from outside. I typically have the 50 minute parafin wax pedicure since I really like the extra massage time for my feet and legs. I know some people have complained about the quality of the polish jobs but I've never had a bad experience here. My polish is put on without touching my skin and I usually have extra decorations painted on for a couple of dollars extra. I've received a number of compliments on my decorated toes! The only complaint I'd have is getting in the chair on time when you've set-up an appointment in advance, they always seem to run a little late. Knowing this I try to give myself a little extra time. Definitely my go to spot for pedicures! read more
