    Me and Tanesha !!

Nice bar !!! Fun !!!! Great food truck, outback !!! It's close to home and it's right on the Seawall ...

Tried this bar out with my boyfriend one night and the bartender was fun and quirky! Had a couple beers and played a few rounds of pool. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because one guy was being a creep and kept staring at me with my boyfriend right next to me but that's not the bars fault overall.

    Great Wall saying!

They were all speedy and friendly, helpful when it came to selecting cocktails and food. Chocolate martinis are still delicious, as are the fruity frou-frou drinks - but not that strong. And each time I got bubbly or a mimosa, it was warm. I still drank it, but meh. Drinks are still more than you'd want to pay for a not-so-stiff drink, but what hotel bar isn't pricey? I spent probs more than $100 just on myself, so I rec just buying a bottle. You have to have a wristband to access the pool and get towel service; not sure how to get a band if you're not staying at the hotel. I guess you could always rent a cabana. Which are pretty pimp. Flat screen TV, couches, fresh fruit, bottled water and of course, poolside view and VIP service. Cabanas sell out fast, so book early (weeks ahead, not days) if you're gonna drop in on a weekend. The crowd here is an even mix of families, hotties and regular Joes, which I like. I did, however, notice a lot of hot moms with their kiddos. Great idea for those moms looking for a quick getaway that can entertain both adults and youngsters. Potties: Please use them. Don't go in the pool. As added persuasion, the restroom inside the main lobby has a tub of fragrant salt scrub that's complimentary. They also have foot showers, a mojito bar, wet bar, hot tub, kiddie slide with a grotto. There's a no-smoking rule here. I'm not a smoker, but I wanted to enjoy my Hight Cigar and feel all baller like. Ah well, I'll save it for another day.

We entered and I was amazed by the interior. It's full of color and eclectic designs. We preceded to the hostess and were escorted through the buffet area, as they explained the layout...down the hall, past the desserts, and around the corner to the seating area. It's a banquet style room lined with chandeliers and a view of the water. There is so much to choose from: Cold Bar: snow crab, shrimp, oysters, smoked salmon/trout Salad Area: charcuterie, marinated veggies and fresh salads Hot stations: Omelettes, chicken & waffles, Shrimp and grits, Prime ribs Hot Bar: Hash, rice, seafood ravioli, eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, potatoes au gratin, baked redfish fresh pastries & jam Dessert: fresh cakes, cobblers, bread pudding, tarts and cheese cake Staff was attentive and efficient. The only thing I didn't appreciate was, by the time I was ready for dessert, nothing was left. If I'm spending $90/pp, I want the full experience, so that was disappointing . They should let the guests know before they start putting things away, as it was our first visit and we had no idea there is a time limit for the offerings. All in all, it was a good find. Enter freely, they've been approved.

Husband was bummed they didn't have Makers and they never got any the entire time we were there. Nevertheless, all was fine. The BBQ shrimp with bread was wonderful along with crab cakes. Loved how the men wore black pants, white shirt and red vest. I'll go ahead and speak about the restaurant here. Our server was Jenny. Sweet girl. We chose a few drinks on their menu and shared the gumbo. We also shared the special which was blackened snapper Pontichtrain with shrimp over some rice and veggies. So good. The key lime pie was amazing. I wish we tried other items but these were great.

They're located in downtown Galveston in a part of town that was once a red light district. Their menu is "beach drinks". That's the vibe. You can get anything from a Negroni or Old Fashioned to a Highball, French 75 and everything in between. I live for that frozen strawberry daiquiri though. The cocktail menu is extensive! Did you know they have a speakeasy tiki bar too? Funky, beachy, tiki vibe decor. Great employees. It's The Pineapple Parlor and primo! See my review on it.

It's one of the best craft cocktail destinations on the island - and with a tiki flare. It's great to see it open after almost a decade. (We went there in 2016 when it first opened for a Yelp meetup; got to meet the owner, try some cocktails, and everyone had a great time.) Happy hour is Mon all day and Tue-Fri 4-7pm with $6 cocktails. Such a deal. They now have a "speakeasy" called the Pineapple Parlor. Barkeep told us there'd be a $6 admission per person; and since the space is small, there's limited seating. We opted to stay inside the DTO area for old fashioneds and Southside ($8 gin, lemon, mint).

The music doesn't blare through the speakers and there's usually room to roam around even on a busy Friday night. If I ever feel like stepping away from the main crowd to recharge my social battery, I can turn to the many free games including connect four, shuffleboard, and pool. Alternatively, during my most recent visit on a Monday night, I can sit down on a comfortable sofa and watch some football with my buddies. Their happy hour runs from 4-8pm everyday. In addition, their weekly specials offer a discount on a different alcohol every day of the week (usually 8-11pm with some exceptions). I usually opt for the lemon drop or a green tea shot but the tiki wheat is a popular option if you're a beer person. I'd choose here over a club in Galveston 9 times out of 10. Market Station is a great place to visit if you're looking for a night out and want to easily socialize with others.

The redish haired bartender with a centipede looking thing for a tattoo on her left arm made me one round of espresso martinis, after letting out a big sigh and giving me an eye roll. When I tried to order a 2nd round, she flat-out refused to make any more espresso martinis, claiming they were "out of espresso." That would be believable... if I hadn't watched the two other bartenders (who were very nice btw) make them for other guests right in front of me. After being told they were out of espresso by the red headed bartender, I went a couple chairs down to the other bartender on duty who happily made me more espresso martinis. That's not just bad service -- that's lying to a regular customer for no reason. It was lazy, petty, and extremely unprofessional. If she can't be bothered to do her job, maybe she shouldn't be behind the bar. Management needs to take a hard look at who they have representing their business, because one arrogant bartender shouldn't be allowed to wreck the reputation of an otherwise great place. If the red headed bartender with the centipede looking thing for a tattoo on her left arm is working, avoid at all costs.
