Evelyn is amazing!! She worked with our Labrador puppy and changed our lives. She also worked to train us to maintain the training and keep it up as our puppy grows. Thank you Evelyn!!! read more

Lucky K9s - Thank you Evelyn, Love, Marian - Pet Training Near Me

My wife and I were headed out of town for a week and looking for a kennel for our new dog who has pretty severe separation anxiety. Our little guy would lose his mind when separated from us, and we were referred to Evelyne for a board and train. Evelyne suggested a one month program, which was quite a bit more than we were originally hoping to sign up for. She explained that separation anxiety really takes time, and detailed her approach to training animals. One month later we're so happy we sent our little guy to board and train with Evelyne. She did such an incredible job with our dog - really beyond our expectations - and was so committed to teaching my wife and I how to behave and interact with our dog to ensure he retains his training. We're thrilled with how responsive and confident our dog is, and Evelyne really went above and beyond in her commitment to 'training us', as it were. She makes herself so available, and provided us with constant updates of our dog's progress, and she really clearly tailors her training to the dog. We're so grateful for Evelyne's training, and would recommend her to anyone needing training for their dog. Thanks so much Evelyne!! read more

What a transformation in just 8 short weeks. My puppy Bailey was a shy dog, terrified of other dogs and many other things like manhole covers and metal covers over electrical transformer pits on our sidewalks. She learned her basic obedience skills that are standard but Evelyne also taught me how to get her over her fears. She now walks great on a leash and doesn't flinch at odd noises and readily walks over the metal covers. Today was our 8 week "graduation" and it was such a joy to see my dog show off her newly learned obedience skills but also showing her new found confidence in playing with all of the other dogs. When we started, she had her tail between her legs and would run and hide. Now she runs and plays with the best of them. Not only does Evelyne train dogs, she trains the owners as well!! This is a great class and I recommend it for dogs of all ages. So worth the money and time invested. My dog is a wonderful member of our family. Kathy P. read more

My wife and I were going on a 14 day cruise and we needed a sitter for our 6 month old chocolate lab "Harley". I checked around the internet and quickly noticed Lucky K9s. After calling and talking with Evelyn I decided to meet with her. Her back yard is perfect for dogs and they get to mingle with other dogs and even ducks. Evelyn offers a "board and train for obedience" course which seemed perfect for Harley. This course is a 30 day immersion into Evelyn's life. Harley lived with Evelyn and went with her throughout her day. Having a trainer as zealous as Evelyn working with my puppy and teaching her daily was incredible! Not only did Harley get to play with many other dogs but she also met with horses. Evelyn took her into stores and really introduced her to the outside world. After the 30 days we got Harley back and what a treat our little pup has been!!! I think the hardest part of training is "training" the owner. The dogs learn very quickly, it's the owners that have to be reprogrammed into thinking more on a dog's level. Being pack animals the dogs want an Alpha leader and Evelyn teaches us how to be just that and continues to help us as needs arise with her ongoing assistance in training. With completion of the board and train, or "puppy boot camp" as we called it, Evelyn will work with your dog as long as you own the dog and you are able to attend any of Evelyn's group classes free of charge. We now have an excellent trainer/sitter for Harley when we take little trips. Well worth the cost of the initial course. Evelyn has many different classes for your specific need and is such a friendly, knowledgable specialist,we cannot say enough. Even if you only attend her weekend classes, it will greatly improve your dogs obedience and life with your pet. We have not only found the perfect informational source in Evelyn, but a friend as well. read more

We signed our 1 year old rescue dog up for the 4 week board and train program. From our over the phone consultation and first meeting in person with Evelyne she was understanding, professional and made us feel confident that we were doing the right thing for our dog. Evelyne involved us in all aspects of the training, she kept us up to date with our dogs progress and sent videos of their training session. We even had a couple sessions where we went in person for training so we would learn the right tools to help our dog. We've had our dog home for about a week now after finishing the program and it is amazing how well she is doing with everything she learned, from sit, down, stay to helping with her anxiety around people, being left alone, walking on a leash, socialization, not jumping and just over all listening the progress she has made in such a short time is amazing! We are so happy we went with this program and would highly recommend this to anyone one interested! read more

Evelyn worked wonders with my dog Ryder. In the beginning he was aggressive and thought he was in charge. After the first class and a few simple instructions Ryder and I were on our way to success. Evenly is great at her job and has a real passion for training dogs and there owners. read more

We have taken all of our dogs to Evelyne. I can't even begin to say how much they (and we) changed over 6 short weeks. Our dogs had every bad personality trait from nervous-anxious to territorial, from friendly to downright terrified of people. Our dogs were terrible on walks, one even attacked another dog. I was so terrified to take them out until we met Evelyne. Evelyne knows every trick: collars, leashes, treats, words, signs, walks, how to stop fights, everything. She really helps every person with their strengths and weaknesses, and the same for your dog. I really liked her verbal cues also. I find her techniques work so well in every day life. Evelyne almost always stayed late after class to help anyone with extra issues too. You get way more than your money's worth. I would never go to another dog trainer. read more

I was recommended to Evelyne through a friend of my moms. I had my Doberman puppy who was getting rough with us and other people. Evelyne is amazing! I don't worry about my dog at all around people, kids, or other dogs. I now recommend her to all my friends who need dog trainers. She is great with the dogs and helps us humans understand how dogs think and function so that we can be successful leaders! read more

Evelyne is AMAZING! We left our 1 year old lab maniac with her for 2 1/2 weeks. We picked up the "mellow yellow lab" that we had been wishing for. In addition to reinforcing the basic obedience that we had already worked on - she taught our lab to run on our treadmill. As we have a small yard this has really made a big difference in helping our puppy to get the exercise that she needs and therefore we are all able to enjoy each other's company. read more

What a difference! Our dog buddy is a 1000 times better than before the dog training. This is well worth the cost. Anyone wanting to improve their dogs behavior should take their dog to Evelyn. Thanks read more

I can't speak highly enough of Lucky K9s! We sent our puppy to Evelyne's boot camp for 4 weeks because we needed our rambunctious Labradoodle to be properly trained before our 2nd child arrived in December. Let me tell you, it was the best money we spent. My two favorite things that our dog learned is the ability to sit and stay in one designated space despite distractions ( 2 kids under 2 yrs old) and the ability to walk well on a leash. Thank you, Evelyne! read more

Evelyne and Lucky K9s is absolutely the best! Not only does she help you train your dog to be well mannered, she does it in a fun and varied environment. Her classes are held in different places all over Santa Clarita which exposes your pup to a variety of people and experiences. The most fun was taking Max over a wobbly bridge and down a slide at the park. We were having fun, but Max was learning to trust...how creative! Her classes are more than just a training class, she shares invaluable information on dog behavior. Her training method is more traditional with suitable corrections when necessary. When Max needs a "tune-up" or more likely, I need a "tune-up", we wouldn't hesitate to take another of Evelyne's classes. She is awesome! read more

Evelyne did a wonderful job putting basic obedience on my Border Collie. She had a lot of helpful advice. She had a lot of advice on how to deal with her aggression towards our one sheltie. The only training method of hers I disagreed with was the use of a prong collar. Which we had a discussion and we did not use it on my dog. She worked around what equipment I wanted to use on my dog. read more

I took my four month old German Shepherd to Evelyn for training. He was out of control, we can't have a decent meal while he's around he's jumping all over, he even managed to turn on the stove by him self. I saw all the good reviews about Lucky K9. I was wondering if this is gonna work as crazy as he is, but we decided to go ahead and try it. Boy what a difference she really makes with her training, my dog I can tell him to sit or stay in one place and he does not move till I give him another command he is house trained, he listens to every command and even try to do more to please us I don't know what she did but it's some kind of magic. We are very very happy and satisfied with the way this turned out to be. Definitely recommend Evelyn's training program to Everyone who is interested in dog training. Thank you so much Evelyn for your hard work. read more

Amazing! We have a 6 month old boxer with tons of energy. Training him was a bit of a challenge, for first time owners. After meeting speaking with a few trainers I finally found Lucky K9s. We take a long trip every year so we decided to do the board and train for four weeks. When we came back it was like he was a different dog. Currently, we are attending the 8 week class and we love it. Practice makes perfect. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Lucky K9s!! For about a half a year, I had been having trouble walking my dog, as he would bark and growl at other dogs that were out walking as well. He is a very hyper and active dog, and needs his walks, but I was reluctant to take him walking, and eventually started walking him only a couple of blocks each day. I contacted Lucky K9s and spoke with Evelyne. After I explained what was going on and she said she was sure that she could help me with just one session at my house. I didn't think that was possible. When she came to my house she was very patient, took the time to learn about myself and my dog for about a half hour to an hour. She helped to adjust my dog's collar so it fit properly on him and then we went for a walk. She spent about a half hour outside with me giving me pointers and teaching me how to properly walk my dog. That's it..30 minutes! It's been about a week and a half now, and I have never enjoyed walks more with my dog. I've had him for a little over 4 years and he's always been wild on the leash. Now, he walks in a controlled manner, and has stopped barking and growling at dogs passing by! I highly recommend Evelyne if you need training for your dog! read more

I have had many dogs and used many different trainers before I went to Lucky K9s and met Evelyne. She is by far the best trainer ever. Her no nonsense way showed me how to be in charge of my dog, not the other way around! Her training is conducted in a variety of locations so my dog now can go out with me and not be distracted by what is happening around her. If you want an obedient dog don't waste your money and time elsewhere. read more

We highly recommend Evelyne at Lucky K9's. We used the 4 week one-on-one daily training program for our 4 month old lab puppy. We were amazed at how much he learned in such a short time. He learned all his basic obedience and he is an excellent walker which was very important to us. Evelyne's approach is so great with puppies, she comes in with authority and gains immediate respect from the dog. After teaching our puppy all his obedience commands, she taught us how to practice, train, and get the same results. Evelyne continues to check in after training and is a great source of information in handling certain issues, i.e. barking, greeting people/dogs, etc. We are very happy with our choice to get our puppy trained with Lucky K9's! read more

My first dog ever is a boxer rescue Baron. He's around seven years old and has had lots of training in the past. He still had issues with leash reaction towards other dogs making it impossible to walk by them without getting super stressed. Me that is! Sadly this was making me anxious when planning to run with him or take him camping. Two things I'd been looking forward to so much. I signed up for the 8 week obedience class and by week 2 had a new dog. Seriously! It actually wasn't so much about Baron but me. A couple of quick corrections by Evelyn stopped Baron's leash aggression after that was all about me. Evelyn taught me how to be confident which transfers over to Baron. He knows I am in charge. It's such an awesome feeling. I now walk him regularly around other dogs and have just returned from a fun camping trip with my truly awesome well behaved dog. Other dogs in the class had lots of issues and I saw amazing improvement in them all and their owners. If you have issues with your dog whatever they may be Evelyn has so much experience. I highly recommend her as your go to trainer. Thanks so much Evelyn read more

My husband and I had not had a dog in 20 years, so we knew we would need guidance with training him. Our new Maltipoo puppy, Jedi, responded very well to Evelyne's training. She clearly has a passion for her job and understands dog behavior. I appreciated that she demonstrated all new training skills to us first then gave constructive feedback as we learned them. Jedi has learned so much in such a short time. We are so grateful! It has been a wonderful experience. Thank you Lucky K9s! read more

I have a four month old golden retriever. She was getting very wild...jumping, nipping and barking at us. She was in desperate need of obedience training. She was not yet fully vaccinated, so I opted to have a trainer come to the house. I searched for local trainers online and read many reviews. After speaking to Evelyn on the phone, my husband and I chose the four week program. Evelyn came to the house and worked with our puppy every day for four weeks. It was very effective. We can now enter the kitchen without the fear of coming back out with torn pants and scratches. Our dog now responds to basic commands, and we are well on our way to a gentle well mannered dog. We also have a three year old daughter, who loves her puppy and is greatly enjoying working with the dog. read more

Evelyne did an amazing job with our 4 month old German Shepherd, Colonel. We signed Colonel up for the puppy bootcamp due to his excessive barking and our inability to control him around the house and while on walks. In one month, he was able to learn sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it (a huge one in case your dog also likes picking up rocks and other objects while on a walk) but most importantly, he was no longer barking!! Evelyne also surprised us by showing him how to walk on a leash! He was no longer trying to bite his leash or walk ahead of us. We joined her leash class so that we could get trained on how to properly walk him and it was a fantastic experience. It made me feel more at ease and confident while walking him. Colonel learned to automatically sit if I stopped walking without me telling him to, and he also now walks right beside me rather than in front. My husband and I are absolutely grateful for Evelyne's training and would recommend her to anyone looking to get themselves and their dog trained. read more

If you're having any dog troubles, do your self a favor and give Evelyn a call. She was super friendly and helpful, and just after a 15 minute phone call, I have a couple things to try and possibly correct my dogs behavior. I will be setting up a training session with her if the problems persist. Thank you so much for the start! read more

We hired Evelyne to help us with initial obedience for our yellow lab puppy. My wife had no experience with a puppy until we got ours and her patience was starting to wear. Needless to say, Evelyne was great! She had our very young puppy already learning and following commands quickly. I was a fan of her teaching method and liked that concentrated on both me and my wife individually and how to pick up on controlling the dog accordingly. Even after our last session, she told us we were welcome to call her anytime for questions or concerns. read more

Evelyn was great with not only training the dogs but helping the owners understand the dogs behavior. I did a private session and a group class and both were great! My puppy and I learned so much and he gets better every day with the skills I've learned to continue his training. read more

I wish there were ten stars. Evelyn would get them! We have two collies. Yes, Lassie cannot even hold a candle to one of ours. She is amazingly smart and a real alpha! Not an aggressive alpha. But a bossy little girl! We had her trained with hand signals, sit, down, quiet, etc. But she thinks she is the boss! She will do it, but nice and slow... on her time not ours. She would walk perfectly on a leash, until another dog comes around. Then the barking was horrible! People and the dog would get scared. I have used many trainers in our town with my Belgian Shepherd in the past. The reason I chose Lucky K9's was because the website talked about working with the personality of the dog! We have had our one intro and evaluation session with Evelyn. She was with us for two hours! For a really reasonable price! And already our whole house is different! She shared with us one thing that changed our whole perspective of the situation and our girl. She said, you don't want to change her personality! She is a very strong smart girl! That is great! You just need to be stronger and smarter than her! Well THAT made sense! And felt so much better! We love her and did not want to break her spirit! We just needed to learn how to be smarter and stronger than her! LOL One session has already made a huge difference. We will work on this and then have a second one soon! Evelyn is amazing! I already feel smarter and stronger!! HAHA! Oh, and our collie is calmer now too! read more
