My wife and I were headed out of town for a week and looking for a kennel for our new dog who has pretty severe separation anxiety. We signed our 1 year old rescue dog up for the 4 week board and train program. From our over the phone consultation and first meeting in person with Evelyne she was understanding, professional and made us feel confident that we were doing the right thing for our dog. Evelyne involved us in all aspects of the training, she kept us up to date with our dogs progress and sent videos of their training session. We even had a couple sessions where we went in person for training so we would learn the right tools to help our dog. What a transformation in just 8 short weeks. My puppy Bailey was a shy dog, terrified of other dogs and many other things like manhole covers and metal covers over electrical transformer pits on our sidewalks. She learned her basic obedience skills that are standard but Evelyne also taught me how to get her over her fears. She now walks great on a leash and doesn't flinch at odd noises and readily walks over the metal covers. Today was our 8 week "graduation" and it was such a joy to see my dog show off her newly learned obedience skills but also showing her new found confidence in playing with all of the other dogs. My wife and I were going on a 14 day cruise and we needed a sitter for our 6 month old chocolate lab "Harley". I checked around the internet and quickly noticed Lucky K9s. After calling and talking with Evelyn I decided to meet with her. Her back yard is perfect for dogs and they get to mingle with other dogs and even ducks. Evelyn offers a "board and train for obedience" course which seemed perfect for Harley. This course is a 30 day immersion into Evelyn's life. Harley lived with Evelyn and went with her throughout her day. Having a trainer as zealous as Evelyn working with my puppy and teaching her daily was incredible! Not only did Harley get to play with many other dogs but she also met with horses. Evelyn took her into stores and really introduced her to the outside world. After the 30 days we got Harley back and what a treat our little pup has been!!! I think the hardest part of training is "training" the owner. The dogs learn very quickly, it's the owners that have to be reprogrammed into thinking more on a dog's level. Being pack animals the dogs want an Alpha leader and Evelyn teaches us how to be just that and continues to help us as needs arise with her ongoing assistance in training. With completion of the board and train, or "puppy boot camp" as we called it, Evelyn will work with your dog as long as you own the dog and you are able to attend any of Evelyn's group classes free of charge. We now have an excellent trainer/sitter for Harley when we take little trips. Well worth the cost of the initial course. Evelyne is AMAZING! We left our 1 year old lab maniac with her for 2 1/2 weeks. We picked up the "mellow yellow lab" that we had been wishing for. I took my four month old German Shepherd to Evelyn for training. He was out of control, we can't have a decent meal while he's around he's jumping all over, he even managed to turn on the stove by him self. I saw all the good reviews about Lucky K9. I was wondering if this is gonna work as crazy as he is, but we decided to go ahead and try it. Boy what a difference she really makes with her training, my dog I can tell him to sit or stay in one place and he does not move till I give him another command he is house trained, he listens to every command and even try to do more to please us I don't know what she did but it's some kind of magic. I can't speak highly enough of Lucky K9s! We sent our puppy to Evelyne's boot camp for 4 weeks because we needed our rambunctious Labradoodle to be properly trained before our 2nd child arrived in December. Let me tell you, it was the best money we spent. I cannot speak highly enough about Lucky K9s!! For about a half a year, I had been having trouble walking my dog, as he would bark and growl at other dogs that were out walking as well. He is a very hyper and active dog, and needs his walks, but I was reluctant to take him walking, and eventually started walking him only a couple of blocks each day. I contacted Lucky K9s and spoke with Evelyne. After I explained what was going on and she said she was sure that she could help me with just one session at my house. I didn't think that was possible. When she came to my house she was very patient, took the time to learn about myself and my dog for about a half hour to an hour. She helped to adjust my dog's collar so it fit properly on him and then we went for a walk. She spent about a half hour outside with me giving me pointers and teaching me how to properly walk my dog. That's it..30 minutes! It's been about a week and a half now, and I have never enjoyed walks more with my dog. I've had him for a little over 4 years and he's always been wild on the leash. Now, he walks in a controlled manner, and has stopped barking and growling at dogs passing by! I highly recommend Evelyne if you need training for your dog! read more

My first dog ever is a boxer rescue Baron. He's around seven years old and has had lots of training in the past. He still had issues with leash reaction towards other dogs making it impossible to walk by them without getting super stressed. Me that is! Sadly this was making me anxious when planning to run with him or take him camping. Two things I'd been looking forward to so much. I signed up for the 8 week obedience class and by week 2 had a new dog. Seriously! It actually wasn't so much about Baron but me. A couple of quick corrections by Evelyn stopped Baron's leash aggression after that was all about me. Evelyn taught me how to be confident which transfers over to Baron. He knows I am in charge. It's such an awesome feeling. I now walk him regularly around other dogs and have just returned from a fun camping trip with my truly awesome well behaved dog. We highly recommend Evelyne at Lucky K9's. We used the 4 week one-on-one daily training program for our 4 month old lab puppy. We were amazed at how much he learned in such a short time. He learned all his basic obedience and he is an excellent walker which was very important to us. Evelyne did an amazing job with our 4 month old German Shepherd, Colonel. We signed Colonel up for the puppy bootcamp due to his excessive barking and our inability to control him around the house and while on walks. In one month, he was able to learn sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it (a huge one in case your dog also likes picking up rocks and other objects while on a walk) but most importantly, he was no longer barking!! Evelyne also surprised us by showing him how to walk on a leash! He was no longer trying to bite his leash or walk ahead of us. We joined her leash class so that we could get trained on how to properly walk him and it was a fantastic experience. It made me feel more at ease and confident while walking him. Colonel learned to automatically sit if I stopped walking without me telling him to, and he also now walks right beside me rather than in front. I have a four month old golden retriever. She was getting very wild...jumping, nipping and barking at us. She was in desperate need of obedience training. She was not yet fully vaccinated, so I opted to have a trainer come to the house. I searched for local trainers online and read many reviews. After speaking to Evelyn on the phone, my husband and I chose the four week program. Evelyn came to the house and worked with our puppy every day for four weeks. It was very effective. I wish there were ten stars. Evelyn would get them! We have two collies. Yes, Lassie cannot even hold a candle to one of ours. She is amazingly smart and a real alpha! Not an aggressive alpha. But a bossy little girl! We had her trained with hand signals, sit, down, quiet, etc. But she thinks she is the boss! She will do it, but nice and slow... on her time not ours. She would walk perfectly on a leash, until another dog comes around. Then the barking was horrible! People and the dog would get scared. I have used many trainers in our town with my Belgian Shepherd in the past. The reason I chose Lucky K9's was because the website talked about working with the personality of the dog! We have had our one intro and evaluation session with Evelyn. She was with us for two hours! For a really reasonable price! And already our whole house is different! She shared with us one thing that changed our whole perspective of the situation and our girl. She said, you don't want to change her personality! She is a very strong smart girl! That is great!
