This is the first place I've been where the Yelp reviews have been so far off. I'll start with the good though. The place is clean and the people are nice. We ordered chicken and biscuits, pancakes, the breakfast plate, and a biscuit and gravy plate. The chicken and biscuits were ok. The seasoning was really good but they were a little overcooked. Kids didn't complain about the pancakes so they must have been fine. The not so good... First off the food came out piecemeal. The pancakes came out, 5 minutes later the chicken, then another five the breakfast plate with a comment that they didn't have the biscuits ready so my biscuit and my wife's biscuit and gravy plate was going to be a little bit...More on that later. For the breakfast plate my "over medium" eggs were cooked all the way through yolks and all. The bacon was ok and the potatoes were okay too (a lot of potatoes!) Nothing really great or above average though. Fast forward and after waiting 10 minutes or so my wife told me to go ahead and start eating so mine didn't get cold. I finished mine, the kids finished theirs and hers still wasn't out. So she started picking at left overs and after 40 minutes since the first plate came out I asked for a refund because she was full anyway. To be fair they didn't question the refund at all and apologized for the wait. But it was the most evident symptom of a neat restaurant that is being poorly managed. I doubt we will be in this neck of the woods to try again but hopefully someone has a better experience than us down the road. read more

The food was fresh and delicious. We were greeted by very nice and friendly staff. They were honest and recommended the favorites. We will be back when in the area. Casual atmosphere and food prepared in to go containers but there is plenty of space to dine there like we did. I had eggs with biscuits and sausage gravy, husband had fish and chips. Happened upon this place while deliver furniture for Wayfair. Been here twice so far and definitely don't judge a book by its cover. Even though its in a gas station its pretty separate from it meaning its in its own area. The prices are amazing and cheaper than what you'd expect. The portion sizes of the food are great as well its like you are tasting homemade food. Anyways its an awesome place and hope to be back there soon. read more

So initially you might question this place because it is in a truck stop, but don't fear this isn't your ordinary place. This truck stop has been completely renovated top to bottom and it is very welcoming. The first thing you realize is the hand written menu with all sorts of choices. From all sorts of breakfast options to a short rib meal, they have it all. I was in a sandwich mood so I went with a Ruben and I was not disappointed. The service was quick and very friendly and the owner happened to be there so she came out and asked how everything was, and she also recommended some desserts. When you can't get a basic pancake cooked right there's a problem (crispy bacon means just that as well) by right I mean so you can actually cut through without a lot of effort. So, yesterday my husband and I checked out of our hotel in Pottsboro (after my friend's wedding over the weekend) and before heading back to Dallas wanted to grab a bite to eat. After a quick search this cute little cafe popped up and had great reviews, so we wanted to give it a try. It seemed deceptive at first, because it is part of a gas station, but don't judge a book by its cover - this place is amazing! We went in and were immediately greeted by a sweet woman who was very patient as we traversed the menu and made great suggestions. We took our seat to wait for our food and kept remarking on how clean and cute the restaurant itself was. Our food was quickly made, wonderfully presented and beyond delicious! The whole staff was extremely attentive, and kept making sure everything was just how we expected it to be. A lovely woman (maybe the owner?) was even so sweet and generous as to bring us a Pecan tart (which was sinfully delicious - and though I packed the remainder up to go, I forgot it on the table O.o). Even though we don't live close, we would definitely make the trek out here to come again and again, and I highly recommend them whether you are near or far. Beyond our expectations and awesome! I'm not from here and I've tried a few places to eat. So far this place has the best flavor of food. My mother in law got the breakfast platter (complained how she wasn't hungry), the serving was huge and she ate everything! I got the Make Your Own Omelet which was the best choice for me. Every bite had flavor! (potatoes are awesome too!!) Staffs were friendly but not the fake annoying friendly types (a plus for me). Definitely satisfied with this place! read more

We came here from Decatur Texas expecting a great diner based on reviews. What we got was a cold burrito with vegetables when we had asked for no vegetables, an unfriendly waitress, and we were told they don't know anything about poached eggs and they can't make them. the food didn't come out at the same time so we ate in shifts. it did appear to be clean, but the food was only average and definitely not worth the five stars everyone has been giving on yelp based on our experience. read more

My son's chicken strips were raw the Cole slaw was aweful and didn't get our salads till after our food the ranch was also not good and I ordered the chicken fried steak which the chicken fried steak it self was OK it came with sausage gravy like what they serve on biscuits and gravey my mashed potatoes were cold too... This place was amazing! I got the iced latte with sugar as my drink and it was delicious. For my meal, I ordered the Lucky's Pankakes and shared them with my sister because of how large the pancakes were, but just like the drink, they were very good. It should have been my perfect breakfast place, cute mom and pop which was very clean. But...waited 35 min for food (5 tables). One customer demanded refund and left because his food never came. Another had to get their order corrected. A third sent back their order. 3 tables had to remind counter employee to get their drinks (iced tea wasn't ready at 11am). Owner told a couple to sit and she'd take their order then forgot until after after a pair of families came in and ordered at the counter. Someone had to return a glass of milk because it had gone bad. They forgot husband's grits. No, you just can't make this stuff up. read more

Wow!!! That should suffice for the review of this hidden gem, but I will tell you more. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The grits are stone ground and topped with cheese, and if you haven't eaten this combo before, you just haven't lived! The bacon was ordered crisp - again, perfection. The hot chocolate came in a mug that was HUGE and wasn't Swiss Miss -- it was like you would make it for someone you truly love! The coffee is made from freshly roasted beans, and the taste is rich. We can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Don't be turned off because it is attached to a gas station. It is clean and has great staff and cooks.
