Brian is awesome. A true artist. I have brought a few things to him and he always does an excellent job. He recently repaired a rip in the facing of a Michael Kors handbag. He used matching saffiano leather and he made the stitching so perfect, he even inserted his needle into the exact same stitching holes that were already there. I have used this guy before for a few different things ( vibram soles, boots taps, etc) the last time I went in to have new soles put on some boots he was totally rude. BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR EXPENSIVE BOOTS HERE HEED THIS WARNING! If you have an expectation of pride in work and ethical customer treatment steer clear from this cobbler. I took my $300+ Frye boots here for a simple heel replacement. One would think a heel replacement is an easy and harmless task. I have some distressed boots and should have asked that the side of the soles were not to be reconditioned. I could get over that but the bigger issue came when there was a black mark on the boot the same color as the "ink" or whatever they use to mark the edge of the sole. Brian proceeds to tell me that it was like that when it came in and denies any wrong doing. I wear these shoes every day and would have noticed a giant black mark on the side of the boot. He proceeds to go in the back and rub on the mark with some sort of cleaner. Gives it back to me and said, its just polish it will be fine when it dries. I head outside and can see that not only is the black mark there but he has now ruined the finish on the leather also. I proceed to go in and he says "what do you want me to do about it". No offer for a discount, no offer for a refund. I was simply offered an offensive claim that he did not do it and that he was going to do nothing about it. I even had to hold his hand and ask him for an apology... and they are free! Clearly there is no concern about satisfying your customers or pride in your work our you would have admitted to your mistake. I would not trust this guy with my worst pair of shoes to do the right thing in the event that something goes wrong. If you are fine with them damaging your shoes then take the risk. I will definitely tell others to steer clear from here. PROTECT YOURSELF TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR SHOES IN THE STORE BEFORE! You cannot trust this store. read more

I took my hiking boots (Columbia waterproof Redmonds, $90) to this store to reinforce the front stitching of one of them (the right foot) that was slowly peeling off from wear and tear. This is an extremely simple operation that I would have done myself if I had the proper materials, but nevertheless I took it to LB. He admitted it was a simple task too and offered to do it for $15, what's more is he offered to reinforce the left foot too which wasn't peeling that much, and promised to do all before Saturday! I left the store pretty satisfied and tipped him well too, bringing the cost to $18. When I picked up my boots, I saw the right foot was stitched pretty well, as I originally asked for. But the left foot was severely shortened at the front with the internal fabrics all folded inside rubbing against my toes. These are boots I take on 8hr+ hikes, I've never had them brush against my toes until his failed sewing attempt. I took it back to him, explained what was wrong, and he offered to undo the sewing and restitch them for free. Okay, fine. I later pick it up in a few days and I see he has stitched and unstitched the front three times and still the boot tip feels tighter than when I brought it to him. As another user mentioned here, he rudely barks "What do you want me to do about it? Give me an offer." Because of his initial mistake, the waterpoof integrity of the boot is compromised and I asked not only for my initial money back but more because now I need to get new boots. He haggles and agrees on giving me $50, which he throws on the table. All this back and forth cost me $12 in transportation, plus his $18 initial fee + tip, making it $30. So he refunded me the $30 and paid a measly $20 in damages that he did to a $90 boot. Maybe he is better with all leather boots and traditional cowboy boots, but he definitely could not do a simple sewing on mainstream hiking shoes. All in all it was a mistake for me to go here. read more

I went in and spoke with Brian about some shoes a purchased at a thrift store. He could have easily told me that all three pairs shoes need to be resoled and I wouldn't have know better. Brian spent a good half hour showing me how to care for my new shores and when to bring them in for resoling. He showed me the products I need to clean and care for four different kinds of shoes. Brian has a passion for his trait that is not often seen these days. He truly loves his craft. He makes some incredible custom cowboy boots. If you need you shoes fixed take them here. Brought in a few pairs of my precious ultra-high heels and a pair of the other half's leather oxfords in need of some TLC. Let's be honest, shoe repair isn't exactly an exciting thing, so bear with me on this basic review. Was given a week turnaround time on them, including Vibrams on soles, a couple heel replacements, and some cleaning. Everything came back in great shape and appear to be well done. $30 for vibrams, $12-15 for heels (if I recall correctly). Service was far more friendly than anywhere I've been downtown - so if you're in the area, highly recommend. Was also told they specialize in restoring good ol' fashion cowboy boots! read more

The best by far. I went into L.B. Shoe Repair and Cowboy Boots in May of 2019 to order a pair of my very own custom cowgirl boots. Feeling upset that I couldn't find a pair of boots that I liked at neighboring stores I stumbled upon L.B. The time that I spent at the store will simply never be forgotten since I have never had a better shopping experience in my life. Brian spent almost two hours with me while picking out my boots. We went through every last detail of the boot including adding my initials to the heel, something I never expected could be done. You could tell that Brian was extremely knowledgable about the product. I never felt rushed, pushed, or pressured during the process and I left feeling confident in the purchase I had just made. I received excellent customer service from Brian, who has obviously been repairing shoes and building custom boots his entire adult life. I had purchased a pair of Z-Coil specialty shoes that caused a great deal 0f pressure, and therefore pain, below my big toe. I had to have them stretched. They are made of leather so Brian had no trouble stretching them. I had them back within 3-4 days. My first full day wearing the Z-Coils was the most comfortable yet. Yay! The $12 stretching fee was well worth it! In fact, I have 2 pair of boots that could use stretching, too, and I'm taking them to Brian. Brian can stretch, repair and custom build cowboy boots. I highly recommend his service and will be spreading the word. read more

Neat local option - the proprietor is a character and clearly interested in doing things on his terms, albeit in an approachable manner. Brought in a pair of Vasque hiking boots that suddenly had a midsole collapse and some well used Chacos - he shot some goo in the boot and was able to put a supplemental heel on the Chacos. I was looking to extend these items through one more summer/early winter and this looks like it should have done the job for ~$20 each. Was a slight delay on the repair, takes a deposit of half the expected charge and the experimental boot goo is already starting to crack a bit, but it was worth a shot! Overall no complaints and would return. read more

Friendly, fast service. The owner is polite and funny. I popped the little heel guard off of a pair of heels, not realizing it had worn them for a day. They looked beat up! I wanted to have them for a Saturday party. Dropped them off on a Tuesday. He had it fixed by Thursday! you can't even tell that they were damaged. Like I said, he is funny. I have a pair of boots that I wear constantly. They are tragically haggard & I should have retired them about 3 years ago. They have been repaired several times by someone how did a very poor job. I showed them to him and he lovingly and jokingly told me that something's are beyond repair. So while he may not be repairing that particular pair, his kind banter and humor got him a customer for life.
