I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

The tech was able to diagnose the problem and get it fixed in about 4 hours. The work was very professional, they cleaned up all of the detritus from the job and were done in about 4 hours.

First visit was fine, and the guy suggested I sign up for annual membership, meaning if I paid…read moreroughly $400 per year, general heating and cooling appointments would be included in that cost. So I signed up and then set up an annual maintenance appt over a month down the line. The day before, I received multiple texts and emails confirming the appointment. Then3 hours before the appointment, someone left me a voicemail & said that due to a "heat emergency" their technician couldn't come to my house because he needed to help other customers. I called back and spoke to a woman who said the earliest she could send someone was 2 weeks because they were super busy. I said this wasn't ok, this appointment was made a month ago and I had taken half a day off from work. I asked if I could speak to someone else about canceling the annual membership and getting a refund. She said that finance department "did not take phone calls from people" but she would pass my message along. A few hours later, a guy called me, apologized and tried to explain that there was "a heat emergency". Funny, I said to him - we don't live in Texas, it's actually a mild 81 degrees and if you've got a customer who's A/C is broken, maybe tell them open a window and schedule an appointment because the customer who should take priority is the one who had a standing appointment for over a month, and who gave you $400 back in January. He said he understood and would credit me back. We will see if that actually happens.
