The lights were very nice, I liked the one stained with fly turds, the occasional spec would fall on your food. Speaking of my food, I loved the fact that some of the cheese on my pizza was a little moldy, it added some nice seasoning that probably wouldn't have been there originally. When I arrived no one was at counter so I suited my self and left 100 dollars at the table when they got back. I helped myself to some knives and plates. They said they didn't serve me, I then told them about the money I left, they found it and told me it's all good. Food was amazing. I heard barks and meows from the kitchen so I knew it was fresh! This certainly was my best experience, please come aggain! read more

I've been to some shitty restaurants but damn. You get canned pop plastic silverware and styrofoam plates. 1 dollar a can of pop. 58$ for 1 adults 3 children. And the food was garbage. Shrimp looked like it had been sitting in the same spot for a few days. read more

First off I love trying new food and I like buffets so I figured this would be a great place to try regret this place was so bad. Everything was cold. Even some shrimp the service was pretty decent, but the bathroom look like garbage. I can't even describe the words. There was no really good amenities. They have like one line of food and half of it was closed. Everything was cold and they don't even have plates for spoons. It's all plastic. I regret coming here and I got food poisoning on top of of it you cannot pay me to come back. Here is the offer for free no, I will not come back here. One star the worst restaurant I have ever been to. don't come like salmonella poisoning, read more

Was good but wasn't happy they still had pop in the cans , and sushi and food was good but One of the sushi was cold And should been hot, and food wasn't labeled, had not enough dessert choices, food should been at The right temperature and it wasn't ,and they should had regular silverware ,with the money I paid, I expect better for a buffet read more

wanted to try out a new buffet instead of the usual ones in Toledo I go to , If your in the same boat as me do NOT go here. Plastic plates / knives . Not much of a variety compared to other buffets and is expensive for how poorly the food is. Egg rolls weren't cooked all the way inside, almost all the food was cold. 1/10 . read more

I've been coming here for over 11 years now. Yes it's a little run down but they the food is by far the best in all Michigan. I've been to pretty much all the buffets and NOT one can beat the flavors at Luck star buffet. read more

Luck Star Buffet - Styrofoam plates and plastic forks... nasty food and 1 dollar cans of pop don't walk Run away from this place . - Buffets Near Me - Taylor, Michigan

Quality is very bad now compared to years ago. Half the menu is not even Chinese food anymore barely any sea food also.

4 people 70 dollars there was no food, lights were off half of the food was cold extra drinks is 1 dollar more the food tasted horrible like it has been sitting place is empty will not recommend this place want a better place go to fuji Japanese buffet better stuff and cheaper read more

I went to luck Star with my gf for our half year anniversary. The food was alright for the price and they had solid customer service. The lay out of the place is the good or as yelp says the "ambiance lol" my only complaints tho are there's not rly any private-er seats and they serve cans of pop. So no refill read more

I have to give it a 4 the Fries were so so good the garlic bread was so yummy but the brownies were not good but I loved the Mac and cheese I don't get it why people are saying(oh they gaves us can Pepsi's like what do u want them to give it out there hands u have to ask for a cup‍) read more

First off, the food is not kept properly. Hibachi is sitting out and not surrounded by ice. Tried it anyway and I couldn't swallow it. They use paper plates and plastic silverware, can pop and Styrofoam cups. The chicken doesn't look like any wings I have ever had and taste just as bad. Seafood was not eatable. My family continuously spit out the food. Over $50 for 3 and not worth any of that. The sauce for the sushi was awful. The only thing that was good was chocolate pudding out of a can. This place wasn't that way years ago and I would never recommend this place to anyone. My niece eats a Hibachi Grill in Westland and called this place the ghetto Chinese buffet because of the quality of food. read more

If there were zero stars or negative stars, I would give that as a review. Should have known better, when they made us pay first. I would have rather taken $40 and wiped my @ss with it and had that as a meal... I would have felt more like I got my money's worth. Please pray we dont get sick. We ate one bite, or should I say put one bite in our mouths and spit it out. It should be illegal to sell crap like this. read more

This place is finally back! Yes! This place was out for over 1 year. Was called "Super China Buffet". I loved coming here. Possibly new owner. The old owner just stopped caring. No place can beat the amount of food provided here. Insane. Lots of variety. Went back on Sunday. Nice. Lots of people. This place is always crowded! Packed on Sunday. Same variety of food. One drawback, no more crab legs. Sad... Still worth the 40 min drive. Will be back again soon. read more

The food selection was small. I got there early and the sushi looked as if they made it the day before and still had the plastic wrap on it. All the food was subpar. The price was semi reasonable but they don't have fountain drinks and charged me $1.50 for a Sam's club bottle of water. Only dine here as a last resort read more

I would give it 0 stars if i could. Nasty place, the price was $15.99 a person, pop in cans for a $1. You have to use paper plates and plastic silverware. Half the lights was off. The food was DISGUSTING!!!!! Witness 2 families get into a fight. BUT the topper was I was sick for 3 days after I ate there. Please don't go there to eat!!! The place needs to be shut down!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

It should be called GOOD LUCK STAR...as in Good luck that you wont get sick. The lady that seated me wouldnt let me sit where I wanted to. And she acts like shes runs the place like a Daycare Concentration Camp. No plates or silverware...just cheap flimsy styrofoam including the soup cups. You want a beverage ? Only cans of pop/soda that she slams on the table. No cups or ice. Food was cold and dried out. Oh and you HAVE to pay first ...no pay no eat....so dont add the tip on the credit card or you will be sorry. I most definitely wont be back...GOOD LUCK....NO STAR read more

Not sure what all the bad reviews are from, this place is clean, the food is great and fresh, there's a sushi and hibachi bar, and it's nice and quiet. I'll admit the plastic ware and soda cans are a bit weird but the service is friendly and it's only $13! read more

Went there July 13, 4:00 pm. Hardly anyone there as far as customers go. Pay at the door before eating. Serve warm cans of sodas 1.00 each. Styrofoam plates, and plastic ware. Very small selection of food choices for a buffet. Food is dry and warm, not hot and fresh. My impression they are barely holding on. I will not be going here again. read more

Not a nice buffet. The plates are foam... the silverware is plastic... soda is in a can. The building looks great, the food delivery, not so much especially for the cost. Many of the serving stations were empty and never filled. I was visiting from out of town and won't stop again. read more

Can I give it a negative star rating? The food here is nothing more than microwave garbage and straight from the can food. Avoid at all costs! Awful! read more

Service was not great, they make you use paper plates and plastic silverware. The food was iffy at best, somehow the restaurant was super packed even with the lack of food available. The bathroom was a absolute disgrace toilet paper all over the floor, wet paper on the urinals, toilets unusable. We were in there for about 30 minutes and I did not see a single person clean anything. Would not recommend very expensive also. read more

My new fav American-Asian restaurant for take out downriver! I've eaten here a few times but I don't usually do buffets. From what I recall, it's a standard Buffett with good food and selection. Fine for families with lots of space and kids. I have only ordered takeout or delivery in the last 18 months. Their food is fresh and delicious. Good portions. And reasonably priced on delivery apps or if you go in and make your own take out box. This is our "guilty pleasure" when we want that naughty indulgence American-Chinese takeout. Our go to order is the Cheesy Crab entree, with Lo Mein instead of friend rice, a large Hot n Sour soup and egg rolls on the side. The Cheesy Crab baked casserole is made with chunks of Krab meat (not real Crab) and cheese and it's very tasty! The Lo Mein is delicious and has that wok-fried Smokey flavor to it with a few small sweet pieces of cabbage for contrast. The eggrolls are better than most -- fresh tasting. And I love their hot and sour soup with egg, mushroom and a little bit of heat too. All-in, delivered, it was $18 before tip. Enough for 2 adults w leftovers. Or 4 meals for one. Not bad. Packaged nicely to avoid spills -- fun fortune cookies included also. They're modern and the messages are in-color. This time I got a green printed fortune with a SELFCARE-SLOTH on one side, and a message that "Selfcare isn't selfish or lazy. Take time for yourself." On it. Nice! Usually I don't get the silverware and napkins I request though. Not sure if that's the restaurant or delivery service's fault. Also, the takeout buffet for around $10/lb is a good deal for anyone on keto. My friend goes and get a large styrofoam container of just plain meats and proteins weekly. It's good if you don't have time to cook/prep yourself. So glad they reopened and continue to offer good fresh food at reasonable prices. read more

Saturday is dinner all day so the price is higher than the weekend yet the selection still seems sparse for 16 dollars. Food is not cold but not hot either. Meals are served with a can of soda. In summary the price is what you would expect for a Chinese Buffett that offers a good selection, hot food, free refills, quality desserts, and furniture that isn't falling apart. Unfortunately Luck Star Buffet falls short in all these areas. read more

Nasty! Served on throw away plates and plastic silverware. Oh, drinks are from a can.

Horrible!!!! Went there 10 years ago, when it was another name, and it was not toooo bad. Decided to try it again, with "different owners". There is a foul odor when you first step inside. Food was nasty. Dark atmosphere. $10.50 including drink..... was not worth that much. read more

Absolute dive. I have called the health dept on them and will continue to do so. Cockroaches in the corners sticky tables rud service canned pop cold dry nasty food. I honestly was so close to asking for my money back. I hope the health dept shuts this poison center down. You pay $36.00 for two people to eat here. I was so sick the next day. Please avoid this place at all cost. Save your money and possibly your life. Eat someplace else. If you do decide to eat here before you pay take a really hard look around at the holes in the walls and the filth everywhere. Run out of there quickly before you get sick. Nasty food.!! read more

The Luck Star Buffet is a nice place to eat.                 They have a good variety of American, Chinese combined with some Mexican food and Japanese (at least one Korean dish - Kimchee).                 It's for this variety and devil-may-care attitude that I like the place.  I didn't care for the handwritten sign that said 'Help us keep our prices reasonable and don't waste food.'                 Just gave me a bad taste in my mouth.                 That was the only thing that gave me a bad taste in my mouth, though, the rest of the food was enjoyable.  Well - the exception for me would be the Sushi.  I gave it a whirl but I would recommend it.  The rice had already started to dry out so I know it had been sitting there a while.  The Wasabi had started to turn a darker shade of green.  (The Pistachio Ice Cream has turned! - Mater from Cars).                 The décor is standard.  Nothing jumped out at me.  It was a little cool in the dining room but not too bad.  Prices are reasonable but keep an eye on what you're choosing. read more

If I could do a negative star while simultaneously calling the health department on them I would. Food was absolute trash, chicken was so dry and awful that it broke the PLASTIC silverware you are given on the PAPER plate/bowls..... You don't get refills on drinks either. There was hole in the wall in the booth I sat in and the tables were not clean. My partner and I only were able to swallow one singular bite of food before we walked out after only having been there for 5 minutes total. I felt sick to my stomach for a couple hours after so I can only imagine what it would have done to my body if I ate any more than I did. We called to complain and ask for our money back and the woman laughed (so bad customer service as well) The inside of the building had dim lights and made it feel both yucky & creepy. Will never ever EVER come back or recommend unless you want to risk your life of food poisoning. I would also like to mention that I have never taken the time to write a review for anywhere before but this place was so unsettling I am using my little spare time to make sure I write and warn people. Don't waste your money or time on this stuff they call food. I have no idea how they are even legally open. read more

I just went to Luck Star last week and just WOW I was in shock of how good the food was. I liked the sanitation of having to wear gloves. I really like the canned drinks very unique. Overall I highly recommend this place. read more

Absolutely disgusting!! I dismissed the other reviews because I have very low standards for buffets but this time I really should have listened. There were bugs flying around the open food, kids running around like it's Chuck E. Cheese, and the servers only give you one can of pop for your whole meal. Not to mention the building itself is falling to pieces. There are cracks littering the walls, chipped paint, and gaping holes next to the booths. Don't eat their soggy, nauseating food! You'll wind up with food poisoning read more

Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware. Food between mediocre and just gross. Don't waste your $16 for the dinner buffet
