This is a nice break to sit and enjoy a quality dessert after walking around the mall. The bright decor is fun and you can sit in the store if you are lucky enough to get an empty chair. The many flavors of gelato means I need to go back and try a new flavor! They did not give samples when I went, but the two times I went it was delicious, so I don't think you can go wrong. I have seen some reviews that mention negative experiences with the staff. At the Florida Mall I had nice staff that made sure I was happy. Adventure day at FL Mall. Hubby and I saw this and decided to stop in before we left. The gelato shop was clean and the gelato in the case looked fresh and favorable. I was surprised to find the servers, in what should be a HAPPY PLACE, extremely rude. Right - getting gelato (aka ice cream) should be a happy experience. I wanted a few samples and didn't quite understand the sampling rules. For anyone that goes, YOU PAY first and then they let you sample to pick your flavor. No issue with that for me, other than they should have a little clearer direction versus the perceived looks that I should have known that. My suggestion - post something to let the customer know so they don't stand around bewildered. While we were eating our treat, we did see many people go through the same struggle. Next, the workers should not lie. My husband has some disabilities from a medical problem and I asked if they had a regular spoon I could get versus the very small gelato utensil. They right out told me "no, they did not have any other type of spoon". So he used what they had, which made the experience difficult. As we were eating, I noticed they had pies and some other desserts in the case (see photos). I then asked if you ordered a slice of pie, what do they give you to eat it with. Well, what a surprise, the cashier pulled out a lovely regular spoon with a long handle. I asked why they didn't say that before and no one could respond. I do know more than likely it is not the workers fault, but how they were trained by the manager. I will end on a good note, which is why I have given this a 3-star and not a 1-star. The GELATO - was great. We ended up with lemon pie and vanilla & two varieties of chocolate hazelnut. We shared them and loved the taste. They finally got some sugar free flavors! They've been in the mall for some time now. The shop had a decent amount of seating with booth style seats and a few tables. The black and gold decor is nice. I went up to the counter and waited to sample the no sugar added flavor. The women at the counter was extremely rude and told me she would give me one sample, but I have to buy something to try anything else. I've NEVER had an employee at this location talk to me like that! I did buy a small gelato. A lot of NSA items have a funny aftertaste, and I just wanted to try it first. I would understand if that was a policy, but she had NO issue with giving samples to the people ahead of me speaking Spanish. As much as we love getting a treat on a hot day, Lucciano's failed to provide that satisfactory experience. The concept would probably work better if the shop was in less crowded location. The space is small and tight, the staff looked aggravated, tired, linguistically challenged. It was very loud and warm inside with very few seating spaces available. The passion fruit smoothie I ordered had small bits of seed in it that felt like rocks on my teeth. Very-very sweet. My daughter had a mint chocolate chip which tasted nothing my sugar. Lucciano's at Florida Mall is a nice cute stop from the hustle and bustle of all the shopping there... and the gelato is super-flavorful and yummy! My family has come here several times. Usually the girls and my wife will get some variation of pistachio/ hazelnut. I usually get a medium chocolate mint ('medium' gets you 3 different flavors here, for reference). Tonight, I tried the peanut caramel, which was packed full of nuts (I had a peanut in every other, if not every, bite, so they're very generous with their ingredients). We do like to sit down in the roller-coaster style fixed seats. In all this place has seating for about 14 (if you fit only 2 in each coaster spot... I've seen some families fit 3 in there, 4 people is pushing it). There's a window in the back of the room where you can watch them make the gelato. Good stuff here! I have no idea how the gelato is, but if it's anything like the service they provide, don't eat here. She obviously has an issue with people who are from the US. She spoke and understood English perfectly fine until I told her she had no right to speak to people the way she did. Then all of a sudden she can't understand ANYTHING I said. Slammed the gate out of her kiosk and acted like SHE was the one being mistreated. I'm big on small business. I love that the US has the opportunity to be one big melting pot and that everyone has the opportunity to make a living. But don't come to this country, pretend to not speak or understand the language, be rude and disrespectful to people, act like YOU ARE the VICTIM, and then not expect me to do everything in my power to make sure you UNDERSTAND that's NOT the way we do things here. read more

My friend and I came to visit Luciano's after spending a couple hours at the mall and the environment inside was very cute and open. The shop had train/ride themed seats. Theres even a window where you can see the staff make the gelato, which I thought was cool. The service was great. The lady was very friendly and gave my friend suggestions on what to sample. Theres lots of different gelato flavors to choose from. But if you aren't craving for gelatos, they offer sorbets and Ice pops. My friend had the Salted Caramel Gelato and I had White Chocolate Pistacchio with Lemon Pie. I enjoyed both flavors. However, the Lemon Pie Gelato was my favorite. You pay at the counter and then can eat inside at one of their "train" booth. Credit cards accepted. There are sorbet options available for those who want a lighter flavor too. The first employee who helped us gave us banana split instead of dulce de leche, but the second employee who came to help us was efficient and quickly gave us our correct order. You can get half portions in the cup, and I split a medium cup with dulce de leche and chocolate hazelnut cream (which tasted like crushed up ferrero rocher). Amazing staff and great gelato. This is a newer location inside of the Florida Mall and it's a welcome addition. They have a whimsical vibe and an open floor plan, so you can see the entire space. The sweet scents fill your lungs, and your eyes are drawn to the ice cream flavors and desserts like a moth to the flame. Lucciano's has several flavors to choose from and you can even sample flavors thankfully. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that even with a small size cup option, you can still choose 2 flavors! I tried the King Nero which was a hazelnut base with dark chocolate, and the Pistachio- because I always love Pistachio gelato when it's done right! The gelato was smooth, yet still had its rigidness- exactly what was needed! The only negative to Lucciano's is the high price, as a small cup was over $7 with tax, so a little higher compared to typical Orlando gelato and ice-cream spots. Great option for a sweet treat at the Florida Mall! The line situation was a little confusing, as some people were confused on whether to line up at the cash register or by the gelato coolers. I feel more signage or more clarification from staff would smooth out this issue. Nonetheless, they had a pretty big variety of sweets ranging from ice pops to gelato to drinks to choose from. My boyfriend and I ordered a large cup ($8.99) to share, and we tried three different flavors of gelato: caramelized almond, cookies & cream, and hazelnut chocolate cream. Caramelized almond was by far our favorite flavor; it was sweet yet subtle. The hazelnut flavor was very much giving Nutella or a Ferrero Rocher chocolate, but it didn't do much for us. Our least favorite flavor was the cookies & cream, which we were disappointed about. We usually love cookies & cream flavored sweets, but this gelato didn't have any taste to it. The good news is that if you get a small cup, you can get up to two different flavors. Now, if you get a medium or large cup, you can get up to three different flavors!
