I guess I must have got her on a bad day because customer service was non existent. Apparently…read morethey are allowed to be late and you are NOT allowed to be bothered by it. Their jobs are more important than any one elses and apologies are only deserved by them. They are definitely not offered by them. They were supposed to be here at 9 so I scheduled my work day and conference calls around it. At 9:08 I got a call saying that they had to pick up a part for my job and would be here in about 30 minutes. I replied with "ok, I have a conference call and will try and hear the door. I then get a call back from the OWNER who said "I hear you won't be letting us in" to which I replied that I did not say that. What I said was that I was going to be on a work call and had scheduled my call schedule to let them in at 9, the time of my scheduled appointment. She proceeds to insist on making a point that I had a problem with them being late so I should find someone else and hung up on me. I called her back and she said "you have a problem with us being late" and I specifically started my own business so I don't have to deal with rude people like you. (by the way - in my job, if I am going to be late for a client meeting, I let them know prior to the appointment ,not ten minutes after they were supposed to be here). She told me I was not her customer and that I can find someone else to do the job and hung up?! My husband called to try and resolve it as did the company from whom I purchased the sofa. I even texted and apologized for any part I played in the conversation. She told the sofa company that she wouldn't come to my house and would only work on the sofa if it was picked up and taken somewhere else so she didn't have to see me. Really? All over a miscommuncation for which I am happy to accept my part in... Maybe I am old school but was raised that the customer is always right. Maybe their work is good...I will never know. But what I do know is this - if they are late, don't expect an apology and don't think you can even mention it because she obviously thinks she is allowed to speak to people any way she wants and if you speak up, you are disrespectful (them being late however, is NOT disrespectful).

I was aimlessly wandering around Bozeman trying to find some good shopping, as I needed something…read moreto remember my trip by. I stopped in about 8 different stores, but nothing was really speaking to my soul. It felt more like shopping in LA than what I thought Montana would be like. "Boz Angeles," as one of my uber drivers called it. I was dejected from not finding anything, and set off to meet the rest of the bachelor party at a steakhouse. It was then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw 2 rustic yellow chairs with a sign that read "Rare Bird Vintage." I entered into the small, highly curated space that is an ideal vintage shop. A healthy mix of clothing, old trinkets, bags, books, postcards, shoes, etc. The tags on everything have handwritten prices and notes on each individual item of when it's made. This attention to detail can only come from passion. I immediately pulled off a denim jacket off the rack and tried it on. The owner, Olivia, ran over and said "That looks so good on you, but I have another deadstock denim jacket from the early 90s that I think would look AMAZING on you." I tried it on and loved it, but it was slightly oversized. I'm really shy and insecure so I asked Olivia's opinion. "It honestly fits you perfect. It reminds me of something that I would see in Shibuya, this is a classic Japanese look." 90% of my personality is my trip to Japan and how much I love Japanese culture, so I had no choice. She and her mom, who also owns the shop, gave me a full rundown on how to wash this deadstock denim and why it is such a unique piece. You could just feel the passion oozing out of them. While checking out for both denim jackets, I found a sweatshirt for my girlfriend, a vintage coffee table book about Florence, and a cool Hokkaido pin. I just shook my head and said "I gotta get out of here..." I was BUZZIN in here. It's electric. Thank you Rare Bird, I will pass these jackets to my kids once the curtain closes on me.
