This is a very nice store in downtown Bozeman. Close to tons of other shopping and dining and coffee shops, it's a fun stop in if you are in the area and want to shop around. Especially bc they have a large selection of outdoor items and shoes and socks. I was able to score some new socks here at a great price in a brand that is hard to find. I was caught by surprise by a white Christmas. As an out-of-towner I didn't have my snow boots with me. I bought some Mission boots here last year and they are not holding up very well. I went in and they basically Said tough luck.... You can buy another 400 dollar boot if you want. Boots are great they are rugged and tough. The down fall is the staff have some issues being pushy and lack of listening skills. Some are absolutely amazing so I suggest schnees for a great hunting boot for sure read more

What a great store that could be price gouging, but isn't. Right on Bozeman's main drag, this is an upscale take on the army-navy store meets well dressed outdoors person. Comfy, but stylish shoes, for both men and women, outdoor and hiking apparel, nice men's outdoorsman type clothes (their own line, might I add), a huge array of socks, and yes, even guns. They were running a special buy sale items and get additional percentage off. Ended up with a very cute pair of Clarks clogs, quality hiking socks that didn't break the bank, and a Schnee's leather fly fishing bag for less than $100. This place has terrible customer service. I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years and today convinced me that I'll never shop here again. I bought a pair of boots for work, only trying them on in the store, discovering they aren't the same size as the boots I owned previously. I did not wear them anywhere but the store to ensure size. I paid in cash in the initial purchase and when I attempted to return them they said, " I'll have to return at a time that they have enough cash in the till to reimburse me." This is unacceptable costumer service as the store obviously has more money in the safe in the back than $220. If not, they aren't a reliable company to provide business to anyways. Either way, I wouldn't wish the terrible service I was provided upon my worst enemy. The gentleman with the beard working the front has terrible customer service skills. I attempted to place a negative review on their website regarding the polyester content of one of their pricey shirts. Their web description mentions nothing about their $99 Rifleman shirt being made of polyester. The comment has never been published, even after I inquired again about it with customer service. I have grown up in Bozeman and have given Schnee's a lot of business over the years but think that I will finally shop elsewhere. Schnee's has a great inventory and lots of amazing products. Its even a cool store from a layout/quality standpoint. Unfortunately the customer service is repeatably HORRIBLE. Don't be surprised to spend 20-30 minutes looking without being acknowledged by an employee, even during slow hours. Its hard enough to get a simple "Hi" when you walk in the door and virtually impossible to get help with a product. I would love to support this local shop with great inventory but time and time again I am let down by their horrible customer service. read more

So I bought a pair of shoes from them and tried them out at home. They didn't work so I returned them on a sunday. Due to my credit card being stolen they couldn't apply my refund to it. So they told me they would send a check. I got a call them on Monday telling me they would prefer I wait until I got my new card and they would apply the refund that day to the card. I called them the following Monday and gave them all the information was told I would see the refund in 2 days. It didn't happen on Wednesday so I called again on Thursday and the person told they just did it Wednesday morning. Asked why it wasn't done on Monday as I was previous told and the clerk claims they might of gotten busy. I asked why the previous clerk lied to me then and she couldn't answer the question. Will never go back again and don't recommend them at all read more
