I watched him show it to someone, who I was told was the owners son, and they sent another. The owners son dropped it off the table and said, this should be more to my liking and walked away. Well it was only slightly less burnt but it did crack so I tried it. Sugar was definitely burnt, you could taste it, and the custard was dripping wet instead of solid. I showed this to the other waiter who was helping and she understood immediately and took it back. She said let's just get you the lava cake instead and I said fine. It's too bad because the flavor on the custard itself was excellent and I was really looking forward to it.
