The Soup Joumou here is by far the best I've ever had.

The owner Lubin and his staff are amazing, they know customer service here. I go on Saturdays for the bouillon and on Sundays for the Soup. Everything is amazing here.

Black rice with oxtail, banan peze, white rice with legume and black beans. Got passion fruit juice and lemonade

Came with the fam from MD and got oxtail w black rice, fried fish, fried chicken and legume all with white rice and black beans. Overall pretty good Haitian food! The black rice was fire! Sister loved the legume. The fish was a bit salty. Oxtail was sooo good and so were the juices (got passion fruit and lemonade). The Haitian patty wasn't really authentic but I did like the flavor of the chicken. Would definitely come back! Like that it's pretty close to the airport as well.

    Tasso dinde (fried turkey)

Overall okay. The red beans and rice was great. However, the meat, particularly the the fried turkey, was not fresh. The service is pretty quick (likely because nothing is made fresh).

Oxtails, Black rice salad with plantians.

Drove pass this place a million times and always thought it was a Cuban restaurant. Finally stopped in, family owned home cooked Haitian food. I tried the oxtails ,Black rice and green plantains. I waited about 15mins for my food and it was well worth the wait she made them plantains right there while I waited and they were freaking delics. At first I thought $16.00 for a plate of oxtails was a bit pricey but when I got that plate home it was so large( I got about 12 meaty oxtails) me and my husband shared and it was more then enough for both of us and it was really good. That's going to be our new go to place for some home cooked food.

Delicious and fresh. However, if you go later in the day, they may run out of what you want.

We both never had Haitian food where every piece of meat was tender. Portion size was decent. We had a small portion to take home. Service was good. They include 18% gratuity on all dine in orders. I don't think this place is talked about enough on social. We will be back!

The Haitian music was loud and energetic, giving the restaurant a lively, authentic vibe. My waitress was friendly at first, and I ordered the meatballs, black rice, mac n cheese, and plantains. The food was excellent -- full of Caribbean flavor and spice. They provided piklis, but the meal already had plenty of heat. I also ordered a lychee martini that was really good, although I requested extra lychees and never received them. Service became an issue as the meal went on. My waitress took a long time to return and never checked back in; I eventually had to flag someone down just to pay. I was also given a dirty fork with visible crusted food on it. I told my waitress and asked for plastic utensils instead. When the bill came, I noticed a charge for the plastic utensils. I explained again that the original fork was dirty, and she told me it didn't matter -- that's just their charge. I even tried to show her the fork, and she still insisted it didn't matter. I asked for a manager, who looked at the fork, confirmed it was dirty, and removed the charge. It feels unreasonable for a restaurant of this caliber to charge a customer for requesting clean utensils, especially when the ones provided were dirty in the first place. The food itself was delicious, and that's the one thing they absolutely excel at. I'd return and order takeout solely for the great food, but I wouldn't dine in again.
