But since I was starving, I ordered the conch and goat stew to go. The moment I got in the car, I noticed the food wasn't giving that aromatic Haitian smell I was expecting--red flag #2 . Once I got home, I did a quick taste test. The food was meh at best, like some kind of Haitian diet food. Save your coins and go somewhere else! ‍

Kasa Champet has quickly become one of my family's favorite places to dine! The food is…read moreconsistently great, while the service can unfortunately be a bit hit or miss. Still, it has become a true staple for us, whether we're dining in or grabbing takeout. It's also such a great spot for gatherings big or small from graduations and repasses to family dinners or even a casual date night. There's something about the food that always brings people together. Tonight, we had the Seafood Legume, which is one of my favorites and something you don't find at a lot of Haitian restaurants in South Florida. It comes with lambi, crab, and shrimp, and while it was really good tonight, it was definitely spicier than usual. I usually love the flavor and richness of the legume, so the extra heat caught me a little off guard, but overall it was still enjoyable. We also tried the Kirby, which was okay but didn't stand out as much for me. And of course, I had to get the Rum Punch tasty, refreshing, and definitely strong! Overall, the food continues to be the reason we keep coming back. Tonight's service was just okay, but hopefully next time it'll be a better experience on that end. Either way, Kasa Champet remains a family favorite and a go-to when we're craving Haitian food.

The restaurant is divided into 2 parts: sit down restaurant and to go orders. I usually like the food, no complaints there. The problem is the customer service, which seems to be lacking even on a good day. On this visit, I called in a to-go order for pickup, as I usually do. When I arrived, my order wasn't ready. I asked for an update and how much longer the wait would be, but no one could give me an answer. After several minutes, one employee simply shook her head and said, "I don't know." It turned out they were busy fulfilling a large catering order, which is completely understandable. What I don't understand is why that wasn't communicated to customers placing pickup orders. Multiple people came in asking about their orders and were met with the same lack of response. At least 10 to 12 people were inside waiting, including Door Dash and Uber Eats drivers. After waiting 45 minutes with no clear update, I finally left without my food. The food here may be great, but the customer service and communication need serious improvement. If you decide to order from here, be prepared for possible delays and very little communication/updates about them.

The flavors were really hittin--not salty but definitely not lacking in flavor and complexity. So delicious The only criticism I would have from what I ordered is that the rice was ever so slightly undercooked which made it a bit dry. Other than that, everything was great. The ambiance is that of a fast casual restaurant with and order counter and tables lining the outer perimeter of the restaurant. There are TVs playing as well. The service wasn't particularly friendly, the two ladies up front seemed more interested in chatting than helping me with the menu. The lunch special came with a soda but they do not offer diet soda and they will not substitute bottled water. I walked in for pickup, and the two lunches probably took 15-20 minutes to be prepared. My husband got the griot, which was flavorful but dry. I got the stewed chicken which was slightly overcooked and underseasoned. I did enjoy the fried smashed plantains, but the rice and beans tasted weirdly ashy? We barely touched those. The pikliz was only ok. Overall, I would not return as I was disappointed.

Every bite of the food here feels like a warm hug from home, and it has me wondering if Naomi has somehow bribed my mom to share her secret recipes. The plantains are so crispy you'd think they were fried in the Caribbean sunshine, and the griot is so tender that I briefly considered applying for citizenship in the land of Naomi's kitchen. The rice and beans? Let's just say I might have shed a tear of joy. And that garden--oh, the garden! It's like paradise decided to take up residence right behind Naomi's. Between the tropical plants and the soft, melodic tunes drifting through the air, it's impossible not to relax and let the flavors transport you back to the heart of Haiti. This place is easily 5 stars, and I'm already planning my next visit. My only complaint? I wish Naomi's served breakfast, lunch, and dinner... every day.
