    The Beach Latte
    Luke W.

Welcoming and enjoyable ice cream parlor, espresso bar, and small food mall all rolled into a well lit open floor plan, offering plenty of seating, friendly staff, and I was pressed for picking quick with the menu of lattes mainly catering to the diabetes inducing Starbucks fans. My friend had discovered Luau earlier and enjoyed the post bike race sips but I am harder to please when the syrup comes from a plastic pump and ends up costing near ten bucks for a large. There is an expected variety of milks, sizes, and fun seasonal brews which got me picking the Beach Latte. The flavors worked well but just two years ago this sort of drink was half the price in my home town. I bet Dunkin Donuts can do the same for quite a bit less. Wifi works well, we both could spread out our laptops without fear of knocking over the big cups of Java, and the Wisconsin cream corner kept tempting me to add yet more sugar to my Friday. Probably would have had some scoops if not for the ten dollar drink driving through my wallet, I'm used to shrinkflation across all restaurants these days but Luau certainly puts itself in a class of its own!

We found this place by looking at the map for a new coffee shop! Glad we stumbled upon it! Coffee was good and service was outstanding Highly recommended

Hands down my favorite local coffee shop. Always a welcoming vibe with good service and great coffee. Occasionally drinks may vary from employee to employee but on the rare occasion you don't like something they are quick to make a change no questions asked. They have some dairy free options for ice cream and do offer different milk substitutes. I am vegan and they have always been accommodating of sandwiches and wraps. One of my favorite things about Luau is that they are super dog friendly and will allow well behaved dogs inside. They always bring my girl a pup cup and are happy to see her. The WiFi is free and open so it's a great place to stay for a while and get some work done. Highly recommend.

Really good coffee, friendly staff and everything is very affordable compared to the chain coffee stores. After everything with the "mask free zone" started I gave it a shot. I thought that was brilliant. We need more give during these times and everywhere else you need masks to walk in and use the restroom but not when you're at the table eating? Lol does COVID just automatically stop when you're sitting at the table? No, makes no sense and these guys get it. On top of all that I am in and out in a couple minutes instead of waiting forever for mediocre coffee. I still like Starbucks and it's everywhere for a good coffee fix and all that but this place checks off as a great coffee shop and will continue coming back as much as possible since it's on the way to work also.

A lot of places have good presentation without the flavor to follow up. This did not happened here. My daughter really enjoyed her salad and I equally enjoyed the tacos. Their preorder system is incredibly smooth, though it does require a bit of planning since you need to order at least a day in advance, and they are closed on Mondays. I scheduled an order on a Friday for a Tuesday morning pickup. I picked up a dozen GF donuts and a half-dozen chocolate chip cookies, and both were fantastic. They offer a ton of different donut flavors, though the ordering system limits you to choosing three varieties per dozen. I went with the banana bread, chocolate with chocolate icing and the brown sugar with chocolate icing, and they did not disappoint. The cookies were just as impressive, hitting that perfect texture without any of the dryness you sometimes find in gluten-free baking. The shop itself is super cute and perfectly set up for a quick visit. All the preordered to-go items are neatly laid out on a cabinet for a seamless pickup. If you have some extra time, they also have drinks and food you can order at the counter, a shared parking lot that makes stopping by a breeze, and a nice outdoor seating area. They also changed up their cocktail menu, and we were super excited to see they had some new summer drinks. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in the area. It's perfect for special occasions and date nights. The first two times we came we sat at the bar, but we came right when they opened and were able to be seated at a table. I love the candlesticks they have lit at the tables. There's a a view of the kitchen as well. To drink, I had the Dip in the Backyard Kiddie Pool (very refreshing) and Fresa Fresca (basically a strawberry margarita and it was super refreshing and tasted like strawberry juice). For dessert, we shared the oreo carjillo. It was pretty strong to me, but it definitely tasted like Oreos and milk! To eat as an appetizer, they gave us complimentary bread and butter and we ordered the sundried tomato oil to go along with it (a must). Their bread is so soft and fresh. We also got the bone marrow (forgot to get a photo), and it was some of the best we've had!! For our entrees, we got the two pasta dishes. They called them "small plates" but it was the perfect amount of food for us with our appetizers. I had the spicy carrot rigatoni pasta and it was super fresh. I love that they cooked the pasta al dente.

So I arrived in a wheelchair due to my recently broken pelvis. Thank goodness my husband Ed is giant, tall and strong and can easily carry me around when needed (in this case to and from the car). Inside, the Host was very accommodating for a table. She moved a chair somewhere else so there was room for Ed to park me and my wheelchair. We were able to get disabled parking (which I temporarily have), and there was a ramp at the entrance but no button to press to automatically open the double doors. . Onto the stuff Yelp readers care about. My husband loved the coffee and was offered a coffee for the road when we left. Pretty much I hate "American Breakfast" at 99% of places because the only vegan offering is potatoes. Sometimes not even that if the potatoes are cooked in butter, not oil. They were vegan by default here, cooked in oil My husband got his very favorite, Eggs Benedict. Whether he likes the Hollondaise or not pretty much determines if we shall return to a breakfast diner. He said there was nothing bad about the Eggs Benedict, but he would not return for them. There was nothing much for vegans either, so I would not return. We both (an omnivore and a vegan) both greatly disliked the breakfast potatoes. However, thservice was fantastic, especially as a first-time person in a wheelchair. Celeste, our server, could not have been more kind. Sandy, the Manager, stopped by every table to make sure things were going well. Honestly, that earned them the 4 stars. If I had rated them on the food alone, perhaps a 2 star. So for us, we will not be back. But I would suggest that others do not try this place out.
