    The Beach Latte
    Luke W.

Welcoming and enjoyable ice cream parlor, espresso bar, and small food mall all rolled into a well lit open floor plan, offering plenty of seating, friendly staff, and I was pressed for picking quick with the menu of lattes mainly catering to the diabetes inducing Starbucks fans. My friend had discovered Luau earlier and enjoyed the post bike race sips but I am harder to please when the syrup comes from a plastic pump and ends up costing near ten bucks for a large. There is an expected variety of milks, sizes, and fun seasonal brews which got me picking the Beach Latte. The flavors worked well but just two years ago this sort of drink was half the price in my home town. I bet Dunkin Donuts can do the same for quite a bit less. Wifi works well, we both could spread out our laptops without fear of knocking over the big cups of Java, and the Wisconsin cream corner kept tempting me to add yet more sugar to my Friday. Probably would have had some scoops if not for the ten dollar drink driving through my wallet, I'm used to shrinkflation across all restaurants these days but Luau certainly puts itself in a class of its own!

Hands down my favorite local coffee shop. Always a welcoming vibe with good service and great coffee. Occasionally drinks may vary from employee to employee but on the rare occasion you don't like something they are quick to make a change no questions asked. They have some dairy free options for ice cream and do offer different milk substitutes. I am vegan and they have always been accommodating of sandwiches and wraps. One of my favorite things about Luau is that they are super dog friendly and will allow well behaved dogs inside. They always bring my girl a pup cup and are happy to see her. The WiFi is free and open so it's a great place to stay for a while and get some work done. Highly recommend.

The place is very off putting. A very weird energy, especially early morning. The coffee was meh. The service was fine.

Such good coffee. I come here every time I visit Wasco, every morning. People are so nice. They also like freedom and the US Constitution.

Arcedium Coffeehouse is a good place to come at breakfast. Lunch is pretty good too as there's also options. The prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing. A popular place in the mornings because it's always busy. It's got a lot of places to sit inside including the bar in the middle. This is a bar with coffee though. Coffee is the main item of course. It's about $6 for one of the specialty coffees including the Maple French Toast Latte. This has a cinnamon and maple flavor so it's like the real thing. Also there's food. Breakfast options include quiche and yogurt parfaits. It's about $6 for a sandwich. Has a few at lunch but most are meaty like the Ham And Cheese. One vegetarian option is the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. A pretty standard one to be honest. There's also things like salads at lunch. For sure it's a popular place at breakfast. It's located on Indiana Street close to the parking garage. The only thing not likable about it are the kind of high prices.

There is an okay amount of street parking. Inside of Arcedium is more spacious than I expected, as the place kind of loops around and there's a room in the back, along with plenty of bar seating around the front counter. I didn't spend much time there, but the ambiance was nice and service was good. I got a cappuccino to go. The milk foam was excellent, but the coffee flavor was kind of weak. Not bad overall, though. Pricing was on the higher side, as I've gotten a comparable size of cappuccino elsewhere for a dollar less.

We already loved the food and atmosphere but Double Egg goes the extra mile. With how busy they were, we didn't have long of a wait. They said about 15 minutes give or take and I feel like it was less than that. We were seated in a booth and attended to fairly quickly. Quick enough that I barely got a chance to look at the menu and get ahold of my toddler. Our waitress gave us more time to check out what we wanted without us feeling rushed. Something I will always love at any restaurant is fresh squeezed juices. My favorite being orange juice, but they do have several others as well. The complimentary soup was delicious. Chicken and rice. I didn't think to order my toddler one because he can be fairly picky and I didn't want to waste it. Bad idea on my end apparently because I only got two bites -- while my toddler devoured the rest. I ordered a quart of the soup to go. SO glad that is an option! When our food arrived, which was fairly quickly in my opinion, my mom's was missing cheese. She brought it to our waitress's attention and her plate was immediately brought back with the missing cheese in place. I got the chilaquiles which were phenomenal. For those who are curious, the salsa verde that is used can be a little spicy for those with a more sensitive pallet. My toddler and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel that the prices are very reasonable. When we were leaving, my mother and I were each handed a rose and told happy Mother's Day. This was the extra mile. Not only do they provide so many made-in-house options (fresh squeezed juice, etc), and complimentary soups; they knew that something so small as handing out single roses to mothers, could make a huge impact.. and they did it. For those of us that are single parent and have toddlers, such a small act of kindness really goes a long way. Thank you Double Egg for going the extra mile. We'll definitely be back again.
