Fruitful Yield is the only thing I miss about living in the Elgin area. I must have visited this place once a day. As a vegan, this place was a lifesaver; they have pretty much everything you could think of in a animal byproduct-free version (vegan cheeses, vegan baked goods, many different kinds of vegan ice cream, nut milk, vegan supplements, vegan cosmetics, even pre-made vegan wraps which I miss so incredibly much). Anything health or diet related that you could think of is housed in this establishment. I admit their produce selection is a little lackluster, but Meijer and Caputo's are nearby so it never bothered me much. I went to their customer appreciation week, on June 6th, and I tried out their juice, since there were handing out smoothie/juice bar coupons. It would have been nice, if they used paper cups, instead of plastic cups for their smoothie/fruit juices, to reduce plastic consumption, ending up in the trash. Plus, they were using a plastic cutting board, instead of wood, to cut their fruits, veggies, etc. Just by going to the juice bar, we have consumed a lot of plastic, without realizing! I haven't been here in a few years due to Covid. I was a regular and knew alot of employees. My phone stated you had calms forte available and sale price was 11.17. We went there and the lady at register barely acknowledged us and we seen they had none there to be had. So she reluctantly gave us a raincheck..She also added that if it came in and sale was over, we have to pay full price. She didn't care and acted like it. What happened to the friendly Vitamin store that I was accustomed to? Is the whole world rude now and this place too. I will not be back here. I will return to Amazon for my supplys. My health-conscious friend recommended this place to me. Very friendly employees. At least 3 different employees had asked how we were doing. Huge selection of vitamins/supplements, organics, bee pollen, royal jelly, coconut sweetener, stress-relieving gum, natural makeup. A few different samples throughout the store. Smoothie/juicing station in the back. I've tried their strawberry blonde smoothie at the recommendation of the upbeat young woman, and it was refreshing with a thick texture. - Smoothie prices: 8oz ($2.99), 16oz ($4.99), 24oz ($6.79) - Juices: 8oz ($3.99), 16oz ($6.99) - Frozen wheat grass: 1oz ($2.75), 2oz ($3.75) I really liked their Terra Thai Chili vegetable chips, but I don't think they stock them anymore. I'm new to the gluten-free/raw food lifestyle but this store makes it so easy to assimilate!!! The huge sign outside emphasizes "vitamins", but this store is more like a vegan grocery store. They even had organic gummy bears!! I found my new favorite Bragg vinegar energy drinks (which cut my appetite oddly enough :) plus some gluten-free energy bars made entirely of fruit and seeds. They have live foods that need to be kept refrigerated, which is beyond cool. I look forward to visiting again very soon to try some of the more intensive vitamins & cleanses. This is by far the best health food store I've been to in the suburbs. They have a huge selection of vitamins and supplements. What caught my eye was that they have a lot of raw vitamins and supplements which is hard to find out here in the boonies. They have a decent selection of frozen goodies for the gluten-free/vegan peeps out there. They also have a big selection of canned food and dried goods. They also have natural personal care items (soap, makeup, that sort of stuff). Overall this is a really nice store that is worth visiting (if you're into the health food thing). Also if you are hunting for alkaline water in bulk this is the place to go! It's in the shopping center next to the Petco. read more

I just moved back to the Chicago area after being away a long time and have been seeking out nearby sources for healthier foods and products, including gluten free (GF) items -- all important to me. This is a good one! They have a nice selection of my favorite brands: Udi's, Bob's Red Mill, Enjoy Life, Schar, Spectrum, and an especially good selection of flours. Lots of top grade vitamins stocked; lotions / cosmetics / creams, not so much. Wish they had more. I like that they a little organic produce and a good refrigerated and frozen section. They have a big case with my favorite GT's Enlightened Organic Raw Kombucha drinks. Fruitful Yield is definitely a solid source of GF and healthier food options and I'm glad they have several stores around the Chicago area. I visit a couple of times a month. read more

I love Fruitful Yield, especially this location. It's a small-scale health food chain (I think) only in Illinois. I feel good supporting this place because it offers wonderful items you can't get at a lot of large-scale grocery stores at good prices. Some items are expensive but others are really competitively priced. Honestly I come here most of all because I love the staff, the atmosphere, and the availability of so many whole-food products without the corporate BS of "Whole Foods". I hope the community begins to support this place more and more because it's a leader in the shift toward holistic living. read more

Awesome health food store with a juice bar!!! A fresh squeezed juice bar is hard to find in suburbia. My favorite is their green juice with lemon. Another favorite of mine is their choco-shake. Soooo good! It tastes like a chocolate milk shake without the guilt! Any speciality items that are difficult to find in other grocery stores in the area can typically be found here. There is gluten free, and many different products for people that are allergy prone. I also love their whole body section, the organic soaps...any time I run out of my Dr. Bronners lavender Castille soap I stop here. In many ways this store is better than Whole Foods or Fresh Market because it is smaller and easier to get in and out. Drove half an hour just to get a smoothie for my girlfriend who is on an extremely restricted diet. I got there at 6:10. Store closes at 7. Went back to the smoothie bar only to find a guy washing some dishes in the back. He tells me that the smoothie bar closed at 6. So I asked him if he could just please make 1 smoothie for me. Tells me that he couldn't. So I find something else she can have and while I'm checking out, I asked the lady who was ringing me up why they didn't keep the smoothie bar open until closing time. And she said it was because if they did, the guy who did the smoothies would have to stay a little late to clean up. Well I'm sure sorry for the inconvenience of making you stay a few minutes late to do your job, but what happened to some common sense customer service?! So I went all the way out there just to have a couple employees tell me they can't sell me something because it would inconvenience them?? I'm sorry, but that's not the kind of store I want to do business with. Highly unprofessional service. read more

The product selection is very good here, but plan to spend a LONG time wandering around looking for what you want. The vitamins/supplement section is not labeled and no one will offer to help you. I still prefer to shop on my own as the employees at this store have always been incredibly odd. They are like stunned flies recently released from a cult complex. Employees will literally walk by you when it is clear you are looking for something, without even acknowledging your existence. We have gone here for a lot of years, as there is nothing closer to get certain products we need, but we try to avoid it at all costs. It has slightly improved over the years, but you won't be finding any employees of the month here. They clearly lack passion for health food and are also not very knowledgeable. read more

***WARNING*** This store is painfully OVERSTAFFED! You get bombarded by employees asking the same question every five feet. It's completely over the top. I've never experienced anything like this before in my entire life. They are nice and cheerful, so it's nothing personal, but their regurgitated repetition of the same question is mind numbing as it completely interrupts my train of thought. I can barely think inside the store. Please leave me alone if I am minding my own business putting food in my cart. I promise, from the deepest depths of my heart, that I will come up to one of the 15-20 employees stalking customers if I have need help. Management: Please stop making the employees ask the customers the same question over and over and over again. I get asked if I need help finding anything by at least 5-6 employees in a ten minute visit. Please tone it down to a professional and sensible level. The store is quite small so it's completely unnecessary. When I'm not being stalked by robo-employees, they do have a diverse and plentiful selection of healthy foods! Had a juice drink that way too long to make. It was suppose to be a vegetable drink with cucumber, kale, tomato, and celery. It was more celery and water. Not worth the 3.99. Maybe more tomato next time and have vegetables ready to be juiced. read more

I was looking for a place that would be somewhat comparable to Trader Joe's and is closer to the house. I just happened to see this place when I was going to the shoe carnival and thought I'd check it out. Needless to say they have a pretty good selection of items and I actually found an excellent shampoo and conditioner for me as well as bubble bath for my son. I found a banana coconut sorbet push pop thing that was really delicious and my son loves as well. I like that upon checkout I was given a coupon book for items they carry and they have their rewards card. Trader Joe's should take note. The staff was pretty friendly. Prices seemed ok but more expensive than TJ's. Much like Trader Joe's you have to go in kind of knowing what you want because some of the stuff was reasonable and then other things were pricy. I like this store overall and will continue to shop here. read more

Ok I'll be honest, I really only come here for their juice/smoothie bar. Although their prices for juices cost more than their smoothies my favorite juice is the Green Envy. As from their smoothies I enjoy the Loco Cocoa. From what I've seen their only seems to be one person working the bar during the week. A couple of times I've waited in line for 10-15 min. If the line is moving by so slow and don't feel like waiting I'll just grab a Synergy Kombucha from their cooler and be on my way. read more

I love this store. I would probably live here if they would let me. The staff is very warm, and greets me when I walk in. I am always asked 5 or 6 times if I need help, which is almost enough to get annoying, but they seem to stop right at that threshold. They have a large selection of supplements, bodycare, and food, and you can always find what you need. I find their prices to be much more reasonable than WFs, while their food is more healthy than TJ's. I wish they carried Feta cheese though. But you can't always have everything. Also, Petco is right next door, so right after you buy groceries, you can go get food for your 37 cats. read more

Perfect cross between TJs/WF and vitamin shoppe (though smaller so limited inventory). Produce section is small but everything is organic which is nice. Great selection of dietary conscious snacks (gluten, soy, dairy, meat, etc.) but be sure to still read labels bc I have seen some items with not so great ingredients such as MSG so even though it is gluten free, may not be exactly healthy. Wonderful selection of natural health & beauty products as well. The best part about this little gem is the staff. Such a great group of caring and knowledgeable people. read more
