It was a part that went bad twice. At first you could think I have a right to be mad. The truth is I was. I didn't tell them that however and instead gave them a chance to make it right. They passed the test. Things didn't go perfect but what matters to me is whether a company stands by their reputation and their work to make things right. A good company makes things right without argument. A great company jumps on it, communicates well, upgrades the parts if possible. Mike and his guys did all of the above. I've recommended them to a couple other people and I will continue to do that. I don't need perfection, I need accountability and follow-up. They did what I expect from the best companies to do business with.

Best mechanics and best customer service…read more This year my car started having big scary issues . I took it to my regular mechanic and he fix some stuff , the car ran good for about a week and the issue came back . He checked it again and he said that it was probably a transmission problem and that I should probably take it to a specialist, which I did . Took it to a transmission specialist that he recommended and they didn't find anything after a week . Thats when I found PROTRANS on Google . To be honest it was between them and another transmission spot I had google but I choose Protrans because they had way more good reviews . I picked right because the other spot specializes in transmission only and Protrans does it all in house . The issue on my car wasn't easy to fix . Yes there was some issues but Protrans went above and beyond to make it right . They were not giving up on my car and neither was I . Happy car =happy owner . I am not a person to write reviews but some business do deserve it and Protrans is one of them .5 Stars

Easy, smooth, and overall the best experience. The customer service and care here are outstanding…read more They were very upfront, answered all of my questions, and got everything done quickly. I brought my Chevy Camaro in because it had a shudder. From the start, he was completely honest and explained that while it could turn into something more serious, like a transmission rebuild, there's also a known issue with these cars. Chevy has put out a notice about an updated fluid that has been resolving the problem for many drivers. He made it clear that this was the best-case scenario, but didn't guarantee it, just gave me honest, straightforward information. They performed the transmission fluid service, and it worked perfectly. Problem gone. What really stood out to me is that they could have easily pushed for a much more expensive repair, and I wouldn't have known any better. Instead, they chose honesty and did what was best for me. Very trustworthy shop. I'll definitely be recommending them to others and coming back in the future.

A customer brought her 2000 Volkswagen Beetle back to me after spending nearly $600 at Import Automotive and leaving with no repairs done and no answers as to what was wrong with her vehicle in the first place. The vehicle was suddenly having trouble starting and she had it towed to the nearest shop out of desperation and due to lack of better knowledge. That shop unfortunately happened to be Import Automotive. She informed the owner of the shop that she had recently purchased the vehicle and knew little about it. She let him know the car was having trouble starting out of the blue, but that the battery was brand new (installed by my shop a few weeks prior) - so she thought it must be an alternator issue. The shop owner gave her a whole song and dance about how the vehicle is old and tired (it has 109,000 easy miles and had no prior issues, no leaks or rattles, the car was in fantastic shape to be daily driven - we had just inspected the vehicle fully prior to her purchasing it) and that it was at risk of thousands of dollars in repairs and that she should quote "make it go away". She agreed to have them inspect the vehicle regardless. The shop returned the vehicle a few days later, having done nothing but glanced it over. They claimed the car had an electrical draw pulling power from the battery - but did no repairs to alleviate the draw, nor provided any diagnostic information pointing to where the draw would be coming from. They did, however, charge her over $200 for an Interstate battery, claiming her new battery was dead, and was the actual culprit. She had also requested they check the lug nut torque, which they gladly did, and gladly charged her $120 for alone. Yikes! After charging over $100 to check lug nuts and over $200 to replace the battery, they presented her with a bill. The grand total came to over $570, $350~ for the aforementioned services, and the rest for a diagnostic, supposedly. The car resumed having trouble starting a few days later. I had some time to personally inspect the vehicle this time, and came out to see what was going on. Turns out the positive battery terminal had wiggled itself loose, causing a poor connection to the battery and causing the vehicle not to start. Import Automotive failed to diagnose quite possibly the most simple issue on any vehicle - a loose battery connection. To top things off, our two month old Costco-marked Interstate battery was still installed in the car - they didn't even replace the battery, just saw it had a new battery and knew the customer knew little about cars and jumped at the opportunity to steal someone's money. The customer has filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Affairs in response to Import Automotive's shameful dishonesty, and is looking into filing a lawsuit against the owner as well. Stay far far away. This is one of the grimiest, most dishonest, most shameful operations I've ever seen. They give a horrible name to repair shops everywhere. Do yourself a favor and find another shop with better reviews, even if it's a little further away.

It's quite a way from our house, but since it will be a $10K+ investment, we decided to take use them. It was done in a timely manner and we drove out to pick it up. I dropped my husband off and he didn't return for quite a while. Turns out, he got in to drive home and noticed that the A/C wasn't working and they worked on it a bit and got it somewhat working. Since we were leaving on an RV trip and needed the truck, we said we'll bring it back when we return. We had a few back-to-back RV trips planned for the summer, thus wanted the new transmission. We got back, took it in...about a week later, was told it's fixed..so drove back out to pick it up. Noticed that A/C on driver's side worked good, but not the passenger side..the fan was very weak and air was not cold. Drove it home anyway as we had another trip in a few days. We are taking it back for the 3rd time now (mind you, the truck runs on diesel and it's almost 50 miles roundtrip every time @ $8+/per gallon!!!). My husband was out of town, so they had almost 2 weeks to work on this problem. We just went to pick it up for the very last time (fingers crossed!) yesterday. I offered to wait (learned my lesson!!), but hubby said to drive home, so I did. I find out (again!!!) that he got in the truck to drive home and, this time, noticed that his glove compartment door was missing!!! He said he lost it at that point. He screamed at the incompetency of their service and workers and that he doesn't feel confident about their transmission work which he has no way of checking. We are extremely unhappy about this entire ordeal and would never recommend this place to anyone.
